Well I'm just a skeptic at heart. I see a story like that I'm like....

"SURE. Yeah I'm sure you just went to him with your little "Jr Directors" hat on, and politely started a non-intrusive conversation with the man, and he quickly and abrubtly began shooting down your hopes and dreams for seemingly no reason at all other than to be a d%ck... Sure"

That's just what goes on in my head. I cant help it.

I've worked with many prominent people like that. God, when I worked for ESPN there were plenty of athletes I personally saw do that same kind of thing to kids. There are some people who simply just don't care and aren't willing to take a small sacrifice of their time to pretend to. I know my story sounds like a stereotype, but it is what it is. But I said I wasn't going to care if you didn't believe me, so I guess I'm done. That said, I understand why you wouldn't believe me. No harm done.

By the way, I have a buddy who is in the entertainment business and he's met Bale several times for interviews ex. and said the guy seemed genuinely nice, just extremely shy. He was surprised by the Terminator incident.

You worked at ESPN? That's pretty bad ass man.

Funny, you and your friend didn't like it... yet everyone here is gushing over the lq version :oldrazz:
fanboys never care about the editing in trailers. they are just happy that they got new footage. :yay:

Back to Batman.... I'm surprised I haven't seen many people mention the BatWing in action. I think that scene was freaken AWESOME and when I saw it last night in the prologue I was like "dang I hope that scene is longer in the trailer" but it wasn't

Don't sell yourself short. If it was as your described then Cameron had no right to act the way he did. You don't get to the top like that just squash the people under you. That's just not right. IMO

Well, it's true that that's not a nice or correct approach. If he said it to me, I would have hated him for years.

But I think I understand his thinking too.

Yeah I didn't tell him I was "going to be a director". I said it was my dream and that I was very interested in that kind of stuff and so I certainly was going to try to reach the top. Hell, I HAVE directed things...not films, but I've directed plenty of live TV, mostly college basketball games for ESPN.

EDIT: BUT yes, back to Batman...

The football scene looks badass, regardless of what those critical of it say.

I would honestly consider my speculative instance a harassment on the part of the waiter. You're at a restaurant to eat, not to be pestered by autograph hounds.

And honestly, and I hate to be a d***, but Cameron had a point. He probably has heard it all from wannabe film students and wannabe directors and writers, and he probably even knows one or two who tanked. And if you're sitting in the middle of an airport without your flight, with a lot on your mind, with that kind of mindset and view, and someone comes up to you telling you how they're going to be a big director someday and wants to tell you all about their life, chances are you'd get kind of annoyed. He might also have misread something in weezer's face or words that made him think weezer was taking the p*** out of him. That's kind of the impression I get from him asking if weezer was calling him a liar.
Sure, but all he could have done was say, "I've a lot on my mind and I'll give you your autograph, but I'd like to be left alone after. Good luck with the directing" and be done with it. To the point, but respectful.

If he lays into people so directly, I bet some of them are equally combative back, and that's not productive to his wants anyway. :funny:

I do agree that if a celebrity is obviously on his/her personal time or with family, I'd mind my own damn business.

Sonny is not quite the hot-head in Puzo's Godfather novels... Coppla is a terrible director and The Godfather is a terrible film for interpreting the character differently than the source material.

And Pacino is NOTHING like Michael Corleone in the book! :awesome:

COPPOLA RAPED MY CHILDHOODS

And yeah, Cameron is almost as famous for being a dick as he is for his movies. Condolences on that horrible experience.

The GA at this point is fully aware of Christopher Nolan and his Batman trilogy. I would understand if this were Batman Begins, but it's not. This is The Dark Knight's predecessor.

Didn't say they weren't, just said that the Spike awards hardly represent the Box office audience and it's diversity. I'd even take the MTV votes over spikes.
The sentiment in 2010 was that The Smurfs and Cowboys & Aliens were supposedly going to challenge Captain America at the BO.

That, of course, did not happen. It's too early to predict that a film a week after TDKR's release will challenge it.

And no one thought Cap would knock potter off the top spot. Films surprise you. All we know is that 2008 had duds, Cowboys sucked and gave cap a good second week.

But 2012 is uncertain and thus my point. Not only that, but it's alot more uncertain than 2008 every presumed to be. Total Recall is a brand with a proven director and proven stars for instance, same as Bourne same as Expendables, with Spidey still in 3D release...So far as we know that presents far greater trouble than post TDK had to face.

Speaking of spidey, I have no idea why that film wouldn't make as much as any of the previous installments, including the first. Not because it's in 3D I'd imagine.

It certainly does, but after following three subpar films, it'll be interesting to see the turnout. Here in MIA, the talk is of TDKR mostly.
Talk tends to be about the film that released it's trailer most recent. I learned this after Avengers and Spidey.

Box Office game should be fun next year.

What I saw looked pretty good for a giant flying prawn.

:awesome:

Those lines from Anne Hathaway... the way she says them... it sounds so forced. This is not a good sign. We know there's at least one cheesy scene. Now we have to see with Hathaway if Nolan has miscast the female role yet again. If so, that would mean this is TDK all over again. And I don't mean that in a good way.
Umm don't you mean begins?

@Anita: He could have, but human beings don't generally react the logically kind way. They react however suits them. At weezer's age I would have been surprised but if it happened to me now, I'd find it rather typical.

That was pretty cool.
Nolan loves his car chases.

I thought Hathway delivered those lines fantastically. Im really excited to see more of her.

I honestly can't tell till we get more footage.

:woot: but seriously tho, I gotta feeling that Batwing chase scene is going to be *whispers to avoid hate* one of the greatest action scenes ever.
Just that little 1 second snippet had me floored. Military tumbler being chased by Flying Batwing (with the support beam digitally removed).... muah!

speaking of cars, there is a lot of vehicles in general in the trailer. We see multiple tumblers, the bat-wing, the bat-pod....I know I'm missing something...

This post gave me an idea which has probably been brought up already, what if Bale was on the set of Terminator and knew it wasn't going to be good film but it was too late, how frustrating. The fear that you are gonna mess up your career but you can't do anything because you are halfway done with the film. Then when it comes out he has too much class to badmouth his own work like Shia does.

Can someone transcribe what Selina says to Bruce? The trailer copy I have is unintelligible.

Ok, it wasnt a swipe. Most of Hollywood is propaganda.

Yes, Hollywood, with their hippies and socialists and their endless onslaught of violent action movies and overwhelming concern with profits.

And this argument stops here from my side because there is no way to win an argument with individuals who cannot explain at what point life begins and condone infanticide while spewing garbage from their mouths about human rights.
Same way I feel about people who spew nonsense about human rights for embryos but don't give a damn about anyone once they're outside the womb. Oh hey, here's another fun one. "I worship Jesus... but I'm a gun nut and pro-death penalty." Oh. That's not the least bit contradictory or nuthin'.

lol politics

"You think this'll last....there's a storm coming Mr. Wayne. You and your friends better batten down the hatches. Cause when it hits the city you are all gonna wonder how you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us."

Well, he admits now that he was a jerk back then. He's a lot more laid back now and nicer. I guess he just needed to grow up. But he was right when he said kids come up to him all the time and say the same thing; you're the perfect example of that. You never became a director, did you? Cameron had a point there. It is extremely difficult.

He directed for ESPN. That's making it in my book.
