The thing about Bane's voice is that it's incongruous with what he does--which is what makes it creepy as hell. But they haven't seen enough of him yet to sense that. Those who've seen the prologue know better.

Yeah, it's very sad. Unfortunately this just won't get the instant love like Heath's Joker had by the general audience.

If you are taking comments from IMDB, or youtube channels there is hardly any positive comments. People ripped on Ledger's Joker up to the release, people complaining about permawhite, his voice, cowboy jokes made up the ying yang.

It's really no different, there was not really "instant" love when it came to youtube channels and IMDB.

It may take more for people to attach to him in general, but when the film comes out I think they will easily.

Well, heath didnt get an instant love either. First there was this big criticism that he looks more like The Crow, the lenght of the hair, no permawhite etc. I think the audience will catch up with bane as well. From everything I see so far Im pretty relaxed and confident that he'll be a great villain and that hardy/Nolan will give us a great and terrifying Bane. The electronic voice I like a whole lot and its icing on the cake

Have to agree about the icon, Joker; classy.

Thank you

was that arkham the goofy extras were breaking out of or jail?

I'm guessing it was the Blackgate prisoners since Blackgate is in this:

I know it's a bit soon, but when do they release theatrical trailer #2?

I'm guessing 3 months, maybe March.

There's a nice nod to Robin in the trailer. The "R" in the "Rogues" sign that the audience members are holding at the football stadium is the same as Robin's R. lol

Hardy won't get the instant love (before the movie is released, at least) because Bane is not as iconic as the Joker.

It was. That sequence was in Pittsburgh and Blackgate was labeled on multiple spots of the location.

Arkham's been destroyed and now theyre using Blackgate. I just love how many elements of the comic books Nolan and Co use

That and he has just a single line in the trailer whereas TDK's December trailer was full of Joker one-liners.

I remember people on this board making fun of Heath's Joker for sounding like Beetlejuice based on the very first teaser trailer. They shut up once they saw the December trailer.

ah, thanks joker. does that lessen the chances we'll see cameos from surviving villains from the previous films? im thinking mostly of cillian murphys scarecrow to be honest.

Yeah I remember that exact line
they said he sounded like a Texan aswell:doh:

I think because of that reason it should be the opposite, since the general audience and generic fans dont know much about Bane and dont have any preconceived notions and ideas about the character

I, somewhat, agree to these types of statements. Both Tom Hardy and Bane are figuratively unknown to the general audience... but boy are they in for a treat when Hardy/Bane goes ballistic and breaks Batman.

Saw the trailer it is really good but i like TDK's better but this still looks pretty damn Epic!!!

Fo sho.

And this time Nolan will make an iconic villain out of a relatively unknown character. Unfortunately (or not), by changing several elements of his drastically. This creates an interesting constrast to Ra's and Scarecrow, who were not drastically changed, but served mainly as plot devices to elevate Bruce's story.

Really? I think its the other way around. Scarecrow barely resembles the comic counterpart (in name and interest in fear only), and Ras is also extremely different. bane however, as much as I can tell from what we've seen so far, seems to be the original comic book Bane to a T

Eh, the venom tubing and mask were holding Bane back, in my opinion. While this departure can be defined as radical (appearance-wise), it was a necessary one at that.

Nolan's interpretation of Bane appears far more chilling.
