The Dark Knight The Dark Knight@ Showest 3/13/08

This was the quote I originally replied to:

You can tell from that interview that Bale is really getting sick of talking about Batman.

My theory:

Terminator: Salvation is a Warner Bros. film. He's doing T4 as his third WB film instead of Batman 3. I'm beginning to think that with all of the Justice League nonsense and then with Ledger's death, Bale might have lost his zeal for the character. I don't know if I can entirely blame him...being in that batsuit during last Summer's heatwave had to be Hell, and now with his peer Ledger dying, I can't see how he would want to come back for another film.

You can tell from that interview that Bale is really getting sick of talking about Batman.

That's exactly what I said. You can tell from that interview that Bale is really getting sick of talking about Batman.

I didn't realize you interpreted that as "You can tell from that interview that Bale is signed up for Terminator 4 to get out of his third film obligation for Batman."

In other words, it was a separate statement. His lack of enthusiasm merely reminded me of a discussion I'd had with someone else as to WHY he would do Terminator.

It would do you good to clarify these things in the future so as to avoid confusion. Posting your "theory" right after that statement would make anyone think that your "theory" came from what Bale said in that particular interview.

So, why does the concept lose credibility? Are we going to discuss it or are we going to argue about when it was brought up?

Bale known out bruce wayne AND john connor. Wow :wow:

It did within the context of what you seemed to be saying originally - it's valid presently because you're actually drawing on multiple sources (don't be confused by my use of quotation marks).

Ah ok. The quotes did confuse me a bit.

I do think all of this Terminator business is a reason for concern on these boards. I think it makes for a valid reason right now to fear that Bale isn't coming back.

I think we should wait until there's some more info on this issue before making any assumptions

My only concern is Nolan returning. If Nolan comes back, Bale will be there.

And one other thing. Did you miss this?

The script leaves room for a very interesting follow-up, too," Bale says of the potential for a third film. "I think we could take it somewhere else."

Does that sound like someone tired of the Batman franchise?

I said it's a possibility.

And why wouldn't he be? It's a difficult role to play, an enormous production, and shot during harsh months of the year (especially to be in black rubber). It would be exhausting and requires a huge amount of stamina and commitment. I remind you that his friend and co-star has died, so that's mentally exhausting as well.

At the least, it's definitely a big question on his mind, as much as it is for the rest of us.

Retrace the points made in the thread before you call me a liar. It's not helping your argument.

The interview with Bale is great, even though he says f*** all. He seemed quite offended to be asked about Justice League, which I enjoyed.

Do you skip the interviews where he states how grateful he is to have played the character and how many doors that character has opened up to him in Hollywood? You sound like you just focus on the negative. And until Bale explicity states that he is tired of the Batman franchise, there is nothing to be seriously concerned about.

I haven't missed any of the interviews. I have been keeping up with everything just like the rest of us. Timeliness, however, is a huge factor.

I'm not going to get into an ad hominem debate with you. If you want to have a valid discussion, then let's do so, but direct your remarks towards the argument and not towards the person.

I was asking a legit question, I don't know if you have. Well, agree to disagree. You take from the interview he may be tired of the Batman franchise, and I took nothing of the sort. We will just have to leave it at that.

Bale known out bruce wayne AND john connor. Wow :wow:

One summer he'll be fighting crime in Gotham City as one of the most iconic heroes around, and the following summer he'll be fighting Terminators in a post-apocalyptic future, as the savior of mankind.

Bale's living every fanboy's dream. :D

I'd only suggest you re-read the part of the thread in which I stated where my beliefs came from, and that they weren't rooted in the interview itself.

He's always sick of talking about Batman. He hates talking to the media at all, this isn't anything particularly new. :oldrazz:

He seemed distracted, actually. Probably feels very meh about the red-carpet interview thing. Plus if Maggie was blabbing cheerfully away right next to me, I'd be inclined to listen to her too, LOL.

I hope that Nolan comes back as well, but one thing at a time...

I did read it. But you specifically referenced the interview with this:

You can tell from that interview that Bale is really getting sick of talking about Batman.

Hence my response of you taking from that him being possibly being tired of the franchise, but I see nothing of the sort from that interview.
