DC Films The DC Studios News and Discussion Thread

Well, to be fair, there may be discussions about what to do with Superman that we don't know about.

It's unlikely that they're discussing casting. At best they're discussing broadly on what to do with Superman next.

I hate to say it but I would be very interested in who marvel would cast as superman and how they would portray him.

Its clear to me WB is waiting to see how the witcher does this month and if they keep henry onboard based on its success.

I'm at the point where I want them to release it just so everybody will shut the **** up about it.

Same, its not like theres this masterpiece that will make everyone realize snyder was right all along. If you hated bvs then most likely you were gonna get more of that tone with snyders cut.

It’s not about whether it’s “good” or not tho, the bonus craving guy used ZS tragedy to make up cover stories to kick him out (should have let him go before production), this is just a good way for the new management to make it up, give more content to its new streaming service, make some money with its copyright and distribution (they could even let ZS team do the VFX with his own money and get a backend after release and the return can go on for decades for these type of contents) and yes, everyone can shut up about it after

Unless some like to scream for his return after, which would be really really minor by then, and some will like to b**** about it endlessly for some reason as well, like MOS.

PS if cast and crew on Gotham the TV show can be set for life as it gets distributed around the world...this can grab some regular income for AT&T too....instead of a close to 300M product sitting to rot.

I think WB should spend some $$ (not more than 5 mil) to complete the vfx and release it on their soon to be launched streaming service (HBO Max). It's not that they never spend any money on vfx in post, they can benefit from getting some additional subscribers and getting back goodwill from old DCEU fans.

Honestly yeah.
You cant take two steps into anything DC related without seeing it.
Yesterday out of the blue you had a group on facebook being overtaken...in a topic about the new harley quinn show for ****s sake.
And that goes for anything, people talk about the 1989 lego batmobile? Oh no we cant have that...lets talk only about snyder ****ing posting over and over again something about his version.

I just want them to release the thing so hopefully people finally shut up about it.

Some fan should just make a documentary like “The Death or Superman Lives” where they talk with him about all the stuff he wanted to do and maybe show clips of unfinished scenes so fans can get an idea of what it would have been. That wouldn’t be too expensive to make and then maybe (some) people would finally shut up about it.

Oh, who am I kidding? That would just probably add more fuel to the fire.

Dang, I'm so sick of hearing about this Snyder cut.. On every The Batman news or Matt Reeves casting tweet all you see are these Snyder fanboys talking about release the #SnyderCut. Hard to ignore it when its on every DC related news and other movies that are not comic book related. I'm at the point that I wish WB would just release it already. Not a hater, I just do not like his DC movies.

What's so annoying is that there are movies actively in production right now that fans can get excited about. Batman, Wonder Woman, BOP, Aquaman, Black Adam and Shazam all have new movies on the way. Watchmen is on TV and is amazing. I haven't seen Titans or Doom Patrol but from what I understand, they've been pretty well received. There's plenty for DC fans to look forward to. But nah. Let's keep spamming everyone about a movie that was never finished that probably sucked anyway.

Yeah, how dare be a lot of DC stuff coming when people can ***** and moan about BOP, that Titans suddenly suck when the same people before praised it like gods gift to DC fans...and dont get me started on how absolutly valid it is to say the watchmen series is too political because watchmen never was political. XD

I always say that i do understand where this want for the snydercut comes and i get that people want to make their voices heard...but we are at this point where you cant talk about anything else even if you try.
Even if you dont want to participate in this whole movement or so, you are unable to do so because in literally every topic you get flooded with people spamming the hashtag or the constant talking about it...even if the topic at hand has zero to do with it.

Lol if you haven't already, check out Matt Reeves comment section on his casting tweet yesterday. These people will not give up. Sadly, we're going to be hearing and reading about this for a long time.

That's the **** I'm talking about. Either these fools actually think Reeves has any power at all in getting this released (spoiler: he doesn't), or they're just being *******s for the sake of it. Either of which is annoying.

I’m pretty sure it’s the latter. They’re sore over “their” Batman and his supposedly majestic film never being finished so they’re trolling Reeves and WB for moving on with a new actor and director. It’s like those idiots a few months ago posting on Twitter that WB wasn’t happy with Reeves and was going to fire him and bring back Affleck. They’re just trying to get people riled up.

Have you guys seen that new Harley Quinn cartoon on DC Universe by the way? Its an instant classic that show is pure brilliance! OMG

Unnecessary gore and too many F wordsfor my liking. Good show but there is a lot that was not necessary

Episode 2 scales things back quite a bit and the swearing feels organic. I think they wanted to start things off with a bang, Set up the show's tone.

They won't stop.
IF the Snyder Cut is released they'll just pivot to, continuing to, talk about Snyder getting "screwed over"

Why? You really think that many people would subscribe to HBO Max to offset the costs it would take to finish any VFX? And how many people do you think they will just use free trials to watch it.
And as far as goodwill? As I sad above, these fans who are desperate for the Snyder Cut are just going to pivot and complain that it wasn't released in theaters, that they stopped Snyder's visions, or something else. There's no goodwill to be gained.

I said in another thread, there's no benefit to releasing the Snyder Cut. At all.

The disease of social media. Before it existed people would have moved on with their lives and possibly used the time to better themselves in the process. Now they are afforded a platform where they don't have to and become petulant and self-important.

Don't be silly. Social media didn't create these people. It just gave them a platform, as you later stated.
