I never had an issue with how Finn talks about the lore or being "the Immortal Iron Fist". When he's talking to "normal" people he sounds insane because, well, we aren't shown that he ISN'T insane.

Kinda jumping on someone else's comment about "show don't tell" about K'un L'un. It sounds silly because we have no point of reference. It'd be like if Thor only talked about Asgard, but we never saw it.

Had IF started off with showing him in K'un L'un, I think we'd have a different perception when he starts his whole rants.

What if they do reveal him to be insane and K'un L'un is the name of a mental institution in the Himalayas somewhere. Madame Gao could be the kind nurse who looked after him and listened patiently to his ravings.

Thor didn't grow up the first half of his life on earth, surrounded by people, who at most "believe" in Santa Clause, before children find out it's a lie. And after his experience in his own show, he should think twice about what he's saying, before somebody else tries to get him thrown into the loony bin, because they are after his company. Also, Chris Hemsworth is a better actor than Finn Jones.

To be fair, it's been stated by several Iron Fist cast members that they weren't able to learn their fight sequences until about 15 minutes before they shot the scene. That's not the actor's fault. That's the show runner's fault.

Finn Jones recently said in an interview that Iron Fist season 2 doesn't start filming for 4 months but they are already learning the fight sequences. So I would expect a huge improvement in at least that department.

No, I know that, but what I meant was they should've hired an actual martial artist for the role. Someone who is already familar with the fighting techniques that they are going for. That should've been a prerequisite on the casting call sheet. That way you dont have to train him AS hard as a regular guy who's learning kung fu for the first time. His movements would seem more natural and fluid. I remember even when Finn was doing his medidation, "chi gathering" yoga moves he didnt look convincing. He looked like an actor who was trying real hard to look convincing, you know what I mean?

Even so, the show takes place in the MCU, where aliens came to Earth, Thor exists, and several other crazy things too.
They shouldn't be surprised at much of the stuff that happens on these Netflix shows, honestly. As much as I enjoy Jessica Jones trashing every silly thing somebody says, there should be a space for "well, we know aliens exists, I guess I should be open to weird sh** now!".

I keep thinking that too. I get that this things aren't the every day thing in the MCU that they are in the comics. But these people live in NYC. They had to have seen the aliens over the sky during the Battle of New York. And then a killer robot trying to destroy the world.

The level of disbelief should be diminishing. But we haven't really seen that yet.

The most interesting thing in my opinion now, is that all of these characters know each other now. The flood gates are open. There's no reason there shouldn't be more crossover.

If one of the characters has legal trouble, they should get Murdock (presuming his solo series reinstates his being alive), if they're looking for someone, go to Jessica, etc. They know help is in the same city.

ok got some info on the games marvel heroes omega for both pc and Consoles celebarting the Defenders. (and no the game won't spoil the story of the show, it's doing it's own thing) This for those interested only.

The Defenders-themed tie-in event that went live in Marvel Heroes for PC players earlier this week has now landed on Xbox One and PS4 as well, along with consolers’ 41st toon: Elektra, long since playable on PC.

“The new event finds players facing off against members of The Hand for a variety of limited-time rewards. Today’s update also introduces Elektra as a new playable hero. […] To celebrate, Gazillion will also introduce the new Hell’s Kitchen Loot Box, featuring new console costumes for Elektra, Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and Punisher.”

I don't know what happened to DD's costume when the building exploded or if the nuns saved his costume at all. But I hope it gets a redesign for Season 3 of DD to get rid of all the black bits and not have it looks so busy. Even if they made the black sections red, it would look better and not so obviously segmented.

They did the Iron Fist is crazy in a mental institution in the 1st season.

A 10 seconds cameo of these guys doing something to help during a montage of the IW destruction would have been amazing. I like that the film guys are mentioned in the Netflix shows at least.

Which is pretty much what the IF and Defenders show was about. Danny kept convincing everyone that K'un L'un and the threat of the Hand was real.

I'll defend (no pun intended) the casting of someone who isn't a martial artist, but pointing out that many times actors are cast without any martial arts training. Usually, studios give the actors enough time to not only do some training, but also time to get the choreography down. It's been documented that Marvel did neither.

Because one guy is an "alien" from another realm, who doesn't know about human society, and the other one should have been old enough to learn how people view others who spout crazy sounding nonsense.

Well, they already acknowledged that Thor has been to Earth before (I recall a scene where someone told Thor that he can't just return to Earth, summon some lightning and people believe in him).

As for Danny, it was well established that he has some issues with maturity when he returned. Sure it sounded crazy, but, as someone else has posted, the MCU has already dealt with aliens, killer robots, giant green monsters and gods living amongst them NOT INCLUDING a bulletproof man and super strong drunk. An Iron Fist doesn't even sound that crazy considering we've seen martial artists breaking wooden boards and concrete for centuries.

There must be decent actors out there with basic or higher level martial arts experience. Either through previous films or as a hobby (it's not the rarest of hobbies after all.

Honestly, I don't have a problem with Finn Jones, I have a problem with the material/direction given to him. With a better producer, direction, writer and time to get the martial arts down, I think Finn would have done a WAY better job. He was vastly better in Defenders which should prove that point.

I agree. Was just following on from an earlier point that it could be a bonus in future casting of characters that are heavily into martial arts to look at actors who are already well versed in them. Good luck to Finn for a Buckless IF2 anyway.

So I guess that means the people in world of the MCU should take literally everybody by their word, and Psychiatric hospitals should close down. Even if it doesn't sound AS crazy as being a god from Norse Mythology, who can summon lightning, it still sounds crazy when you tell people you punched a Dragon in the heart.

I already stated that it does sound crazy, but I also pointed out that the character had clear maturity issues. As someone else pointed out, he SHOULD have sounded crazy. My initial point earlier was that if we, the audience, would have seen K'un L'un earlier, that we wouldn't carry a level of disbelief. This was a story choice they chose that I disagreed with. They tried to make it a mystery on whether Danny was actually crazy or not and, while it would work in another story, this ain't the story for it. Especially when other aspects of the story are lacking.
