I think you all could benefit from reading Flash: Rebirth and Flashpoint.

I just read Rebirth. Very helpful. I even think some of Barry's dialogue in the episode may have been taken from it.

It's been a while since I read that. Might have to dig it out for a re-read.

I watched the ep again the other night, wish I could change my vote to 10, really brilliantly done.

Great episode, best of the season, great fight between RF Barry, was really wondering how he was going to get out of that fight, and then FIRESTORM, great way to end it and I now can't wait for the series to come back.

If you liked Rebirth, you'd love " The Return of Barry Allen" from back in the early 90's. A great Flash storyline, if you haven't read it already.

Cheers.

The Return of Barry Allen still gives me goosebumps. Wally's finest hour for me - overcoming that mental block. It was great to read after all the stuff that Mike Baron put Wally through years before.

I have faith. If the mid season finale was this awesome, I can't wait to see what they come up with for the actual season finale.

Oh so do I, the mind boggles at what they can come up with, the show n general has been superb so far and ep 9 was just the icing on the cake so far.

Didn't Cisco mention at the end of the episode to Wells that there are 2 RFs?

That means that Wells is one of the RFs and someone else (Eddie's descendant?) is the other RF, right? (I'm just speculating that last bit)

I think one is Reverse Flash and the other is Flash. Once Barry eventually learns to time travel from light speed he'll obviously go back to save his mom and that'll close out that time loop.

Tru dat ! It's one of my favourite Flash stories, and IMHO one of the best ever written. When I look back at stories like that I feel a bit sad about how the New 52 has treated Wally as the Flash, basically erased him when he did the character proud for decades.

I don't have a problem with changing his ethnicity, rather with messing with a great character. Why not have a completely new speedster character who's
African American and has a different background ?

What Tom Taylor did with the new Superman of Earth 2 (who is Afro-Kryptonian or whatever the correct term would be) now that is how you reboot a character properly. Have someone else take on the mantle, rather than mess with the character that people have come to know and care about IMO.

Anyway, given how many reboots DC seems to go through maybe Wally West, as we fondly remember him, will run again - maybe even side by side with the new Wally.

I really liked this episode. Every second of it was really an enjoyment to watch. All the characters and special effects and the story was really great.

Ever since I saw Flashpoint Paradox, Professor Zoom has become one of my favorite characters in comic books. Really amazing series, can't wait for it to come back in January/February. :yay:

This episode was amazing, the whole series has been getting better every episode.
"It is your destiny to loose to me flash, As was it your Mothers destiny to die that night"

Just as he was finished saying that it looks like he "runs" away. But if you look closely he "looks" up at something As an arm reaches out and grabs Reverse Flash carrying him out of the stadium in Red Lightning. Maybe reverse flash was talking too much and the other reverse flash (Wells?) Didn't want Barry to know this yet so he intervened to stop him from saying something he shouldn't?.

"Fourteen years ago you murdered Nora Allen, I want to know why"
Reverse Flash Ignored him, Too many witnesses? Or maybe Wells gave him a talking to, To keep his mouth shut?.
(Edit: What I typed before didn't make sense)

Nicely spotted, just watched that clip and it looks like you're right, but personally I think it's actually a future Barry (as the Flash) who intervenes, one of the great things about the Flash is that because of the time travel aspect sometimes he can be in two places at once (which is what I think Wells/ RF did to throw everyone off the scent). Who knows, but I'm looking forward to finding out !

Love it that Wells is reverse flash!

Love it that Wells is reverse flash!

Ah but is he? And if he is? How did he attack himself? Time travel? Dupliction?

Also if he is is he the same Reverse Flash that killed Barry's Mother? This reverse Flash had red eyes and the one in the flashback did not.

Thats what I loved most about the mid season finale it left us with even more questions :woot:

He is, I have screenshots of the 3d scan of the suit and he's in it.
These guys did the scans:

Can't post the pic, though

I really dont get what I'm supposed to be seeing there?

If he is then fine and my reply was merely saying that nothing was concrete in the episode. For the record I think he is the Reverse Flash that we're seeing in the episode but I'm not convinced he's the same one that Barry saw when he wss a kid.

It's the site of the guys that did the 3d scans for the show.
Yeah sure, who knows what the writers can think of.

I love the questions the finale raised, me and my mate haven't stopped talking about it and coming up with possible theories.

It certainly didn't answer anything for me. The RF that killed Barry's mom also had a smoother, shinier, brighter yellow suit. More like the future Flash suit from the newspaper. Not simply a yellow and black version of present Flash's suit.

probably just a design change made after the premiere.
