I really hate that networks cut shows, for the bloody olympics. NOT EVERYONE watches the olympics as is..

Well not enough people watch regular tv during the Olympics so we only have ourselves to blame.

Legends earned all the kudos and deserves better ratings than its getting. It has better writing, isn't chained down by comic book expectations, is willing to ditch characters and storylines that don't work. Flash? Is doing the exact opposite. If it was S2 now, I'd say it's tragic. But it's 4 seasons in, and Flash wants to go down with the ship. So be it.

Yeah people don't seem to understand that if Flash's negative talk keeps persisting and the ratings/demo keep going down it really will lead to cancellation. Hard to believe a show with an average of 2 million and below per episode doesn't get cancelled and Once Upon a Time in its 7th season having Flash's numbers currently is finally getting cancelled. Is it because The CW just lowers their standards for their shows? It's not part of the CBS, NBC, ABC hierarchy of TV quality? Seems so.

I dont know I kind of feel like cw could easily do a 13-16 episode season for all 5 superhero shows. Have the flash and supergirl kick us off in september and and january have arrow and legends go all the way til may. Have black lighting premiere around late november and maybe do the crossover in early december as its own event and for one week have all 5 shows going at that time.

Or it could be a wake up call for the showrunners to up there game and do better. Most of the time if ratings dip over time it means your audience isnt enjoying your product anymore and its up to them to fix it.

The CW is a netlet, not a major network, as it is not available in as many territories as the major broadcast networks are. Which is why its ratings remain, across the board, lower than the other networks, and why its budgets are also lower. That will not change anytime soon. As it is, while The Flash's ratings may not look good next to shows on the major networks, it still remains soundly the highest-rated show on The CW and is therefore in no danger of cancellation.

Do you look at other CW ratings? Because that is the norm for the network. TheCW is at the bottom of the totem poll when it comes to networks. Not to mention that Once Upon A Time is probably more expensive then a CW show. Plus FOX/NBC/ABC have plenty of shows that get 3-4million viewers an episode.

TheCW makes majority of its money from deals like Netflix plus they save money by bargaining to let go of their 10pm slots and Sunday slots. But the Arrowverse is a multi-million dollar franchise.

2 million is not high though and it doesn't trend that means no one is talking about it and that's all they really care about. The Tomorrow People, a Berlanti produced show airing on The CW in between Arrow and Flash was cancelled and they had Flash's numbers after its first season, don't remember it trending much either. 2s and 1s, hardly call that high.

That was how long ago? What was the norm then is not the norm now. And not trending doesnt mean that people arent talking about it. How many CBS/ABC/NBC/FOX shows are trending? And they all get higher ratings.

2 Million is high for TheCW.

And just to correct myself, DC-TV brings in 1 billion dollars on a yearly basis

Not to mention they are big when streaming is considered, and Arrow/Flash are at the top of pirating lists every year, behind Game of Thrones so what does that say?

Context is key, my friend. Average live viewing ratings are dropping by the year because audiences are turning to different viewing models (namely, streaming and DVR). What was terrible a few years ago on ANY network would be considered pretty good today. MANY cancelled TV shows of a few years ago pulled ratings that the networks that cancelled them would kill to get today. 2+ million live viewers is absolutely the best The CW can hope for these days. And Flash is the only one consistently getting them that. They won't be complaining about its performance anytime soon.

I prefer the summer Olympics too. I haven't watched the winter ones so far. I don't really tend to watch it that much.

The winter ones I love. Bobsled, luge, skeleton are all good and I love snowboarding and short track. Also watch some the sking trick stuff. When it comes to summer the only thing I like is basketball and I can watch basketball all the time with NBA any way. Summer ones are so boring to me.

Once Upon a Time films in Canada, same location as Flash, a cardboard location known to save expenses for various shows, virtually all of them. For a show with such an expensive budget, why don't they film somewhere a little more pristine and realistic? Maybe Europe? Since a lot of their story tributes are based in European fairy tales. They have the budget for it. Their CGI looks cheaper than Flash's, they aren't spending it on that. Flash is accepted as it as because the network's standards are low, because it's boutique and they'll take any concept. The network was known to accept shows like One Tree Hill that went on for 9 seasons and their ratings were average at 3-4 to 1 million in its later seasons. link

The writing for OUAT only struggled in Seasons 6-7, they never had a huge problem with ratings or negative feedback, that's what kept it on air and respected for this long. The writing is just better. With Flash, in Season 2 is where the writing fell off the wagon, typical with shows on The CW.

Studios still want to save as much money as possible. Deadpool films in Vancouver but it has a much bigger budget then the tv shows and some movies.

I have seen the first two seasons and part of the 3rd. I tend to wait for it to hit Netflix jus because my schedule doesn’t allow me to always catch it on tv. Anyways has there been any mention or hints of Bart Allen? I’d love to see Impulse play a part in the show. Wally has always been my Flash, grew up with the him as The Flash but I do enjoy Barry in the show and like the idea of Impulse showing up would just be icing on the cake since we’ve already had Wally, Jay, and Jesse

58 million for the first. I wonder if they kept it to 80-90 for the sequel or if they went all in with like $150 million.
