The Flash The Flash General Discussion and Speculation Thread - - Part 11

This show has made it very clear that they're not getting rid of any characters unless the actors wanted out. All other series regulars were intended to be just one season character except for Eddie?
What with Thawne still being alive, and Barry having changed the past AND with the past possibly changing again, there's no reason Eddie couldn't come back.

There was always speculation he'd reappear as Cobalt Blue at some point anyway.

Maybe Cicada could also come back after Crisis and we'll get another boring season of Chris Klein's wooden acting again. :o

From the way they shot it, it seemed like they just had him shoot his scenes separately and CGI him into the shot so I'm surprised he was actually ON set. It's nice to see them together.

Totally awesome. One of my favorite bits of the whole crossover.

Best part of the finale! Along with
Barry founding the Hall of Justice and establishing the Superfriends team[/spolier]

Man, someone really should have reported Star Labs for experimenting on primates before the explosion...

Inside info on how they pulled off that surprise cameo:

How ‘Crisis on Infinite Earths’ Pulled Off Its Ezra Miller Cameo

There has been a fairly strict separation of the DC film and television world. How were you able to combine the two with Miller’s cameo?

We were series wrapped on “Arrow,” and we were wrapped on the whole crossover. We were in post and some episodes were locked, and some were soft-locked. I got a phone call from [Warner Bros. boss] Peter Roth saying, “I know you’re locked, but can you put Ezra into the crossover?” And I said, “Yes.” And he said, “How, you’re series wrapped? And you’re wrapped on the crossover.” And I said, “Yeah, I know, but if you’re telling me Ezra Miller can be in the crossover, I can make it happen.” I called Eric Wallace who who is the showrunner of “Flash,” and he called up Grant Gustin — because the one thing that was our only concern was the thought we didn’t want to do it unless Grant was 100 percent on-board with it. And he was. He was incredibly enthusiastic and on-board with it. And then we got on the phone with Ezra Miller and told him the scene I had written and he was completely into it. And we just went. We put together a unit of the “Flash” crew on the “Flash” set [since “Arrow’s” team, which had produced the rest of the hour, was gone]. And much to our surprise, no one noticed Ezra Miller was in Vancouver and no one leaked it from the crew, which we appreciate. So we were able to keep it a surprise.

Honestly one of the coolest things done in comic book cinema/TV/lore.

You'd never think anyone in that cast would even bother with the CW, even Cyborg.

Last season on the Flash when Nora interacted with Thawne in the future, was that a future where

the earths had already merged and it was now earth prime? If not, then how could that really be a post Crisis world? And how would Nora have seen that Barry disappeared during the Crisis if he never did in the end?

That future was erased. We saw it get erased in the season 5 finale.

He actually said some good things about the the last half of the crossover. His roasts are hilarious though, he is a youtuber, so he has to be exaggerated.

I've been rewatching Flash from the beginning as I stopped watching the series after mid season 3, and I'm curious... how does everyone rank the seasons so far? Feels like season 1 started off strong, season 2 was just as strong if not stronger. season 3 felt almost too repetitive and the overarching time travel plot (again) got old fast. I'm currently on season 4 (the cowl looks odd) and it looks like it's very hit and miss so far, The Thinker seems underutilized and the Barry/Iris stuff is really cringeworthy.

And why the heck was Iris leading the team while Barry was gone? That was laughable.. she goes from gossip columnist to team flash leader? Um, no. And there was a line in one of those episodes where she tells Kid Flash that she programmed a new training simulation... ummm, yeah right. Like YOU, a reporter, is also a programmer? Get out of here. Her stuff gets more and more cringy, and I just wish she would've been written out. I enjoyed Barry with Patty though, that was nice. Barry doesn't need to be with Iris, he's not glued to her in the comics so I don't know why the writers here are hellbent on force-feeding us this crap.

Anyway, how do you all rank The Flash seasons so far? Did it drop off in quality for you at any point like I've been seeing?

He blasts most Arrowverse shows - Flash, Supergirl, and Batwoman.

I can say that he's a big fan of women's wrestling.

Seasons 4 and 5 were the weakest. 5 was boring with Cicada, and laughable that he was meant to be Barry's greatest villain.

I'm curious, is time travel still a large factor in the series moving forward? I'm a few episodes into Season 4 and I'm so relieved to see them stop relying on time travel for everything, but I feel like from what I've seen it comes back to play a factor, is that true? And if so, does everyone seem to think it's overly used? There's a lot to use from the Flash comics for season-long stories/villains, not just time travel villains and stories. But I don't think the writers are aware or care to use anything else.

Season 5 is full of time travel. In fact, it underlines the whole of the season maybe more so than other seasons before.
