Do we really need more members to add to Team Flash? I mean I have no problem with Chester, for the most part, but he feels like a Cisco redux.
And while I feel like this season is more cohesive than previous seasons, I wish that the show would give us a real menacing villain akin to Reverse Flash and Zoom.
Black Hole would actually be interesting if they were actually portrayed in a frightening manner and not in the campy villains from a 90's show capacity.

Well I'd like to see Natalie Dreyfuss as a regular as she's the most interesting addition to the series in years.

Another season regular? I mean I know that kind of doesn’t mean anything for this show since the most of the regulars as is are pretty much recurring at this point, but the last thing this show needs is more characters to deal with. It can barley balance the ones it has now.

I can't stand Chester. The character was so annoyingly obnoxious in the last episode, it was like the writers are just trying to get me to quit.
I like the way the story lines are divided now, but they really upped the game in obnoxious new characters with unrealistic dialogue I'm supposed to be invested in. They're forgetful at best and annoying at worst.
And the cast is already overstuffed.
It's two steps forward one step back with this show.

While the season isn't over yet and showed some improvement over past seasons, I think the show is officially done for me. Sad to say. I was watching religiously every Tuesday night since Oct 2014. I have not been watching the past couple of weeks. Upping that new Cisco-type dude is NOT a good sign, the same way they upped Ralph and Cecile. Just gotta face the facts -- the show isn't watchable anymore.

Unless Cisco is leaving then I don't see the point of adding another character that is similar to Cisco. It doesn't help that Barry feels more like a supporting character than a main character due to the huge cast that the show already has.

So apparently Allegra has been promoted to series regular for next season as well. I was honestly expecting for Sue getting that spot.
Regardless, that's yet another slush of the funds that is going to be wasted on pointless additions when it could be used to enhance the production value.
Man, Black Hole has just been a bust for me this season. There was a lot of potential with a group like that. But it seems like the only thing that Black Hole seems to be good at is making our superpowered heroes lose their intelligence when they should be decimating their adversaries with relative ease.

with crisis over and one earth, it's like the timeline has been reset again similar to flashpoint.
barry no longer says "I'm the fastest man alive" during the shows intro...this opens possiblities of wally becoming faster or other speedsters coming in that are faster than barry, like godspeed.
this would also cover up all the inconsistencies and hiccups the writers have made over the years regarding how fast barry is, and about the speedforce, ect.
i don't care if they sign alegra or chester as regulars as long as it doesn't affect the special effects budget and holds back the show.
just so others are aware in season 4 when barry is training cisco and caitlyn and taking them into speedforce time, barry says he goes mach 3 to tap into speedforce time, he does this effortlessly, so obviously when he came out of the speedforce he must of been significantly faster than wally, reverse flash, ect as they all commented no speedster had ever gone that fast in season 4 ep 1.
nothing much has been confirmed if barry is faster now than before crisis, meaning even though spectre unlocked barry's potential we don't know if it was temporary or permanent, he may of been able to tap into this potential briefly to do what spectre needed him to do.
what we do know is when barry first encountered alegra and her sister, barry could not outrun the ultra violet rays, and guideon confirms that light travels multiple times faster than his top speed, therefore barry at that point couldn't run at the speed of light and was quite abit slower than the speed of light....the other thing too is when barry runs he speed is probably not always constant, meaning you can't use point A to B and say this is how fast he's going because he can accelerate or de-accelerate at will, wants to run at mach 3 for so many miles then slow it down to mach 1 for so many miles you'd never get an definitive speed vs time result unless he went full out from a starting point to a finish without slowing down.

How far along are they? What's the latest episode they've actually filmed? Are they going to end the season in the middle of the season if there's not many to go, with Iris still stuck in the mirror?

They'll probably end the season there as many other shows are doing when it's nearly the end.

didn't the speedforce tell barry she had some last lessons to pass on before she/it died.
it also mentioned how the lightning chose barry unlike the other speedsters (zoom, RF, wally, ect).
the writers even took some elements from the comics with wally's return showing how more in tune he is with the speedforce like in the comics...So maybe they will incorporate the whole barry is the speedforce and creates it for all other speedsters.
maybe all these years the speedforce has been training him to be able to handle the responsibility of basically being one with the speedforce as the creator/generator....I mentioned they might use a tachyon on device to rebuild the speedforce but Thawne created his own speedforce and it seems he uses no devices other than a tachyon tech he used to go faster or to maintain his speed when it was unstable.
my theory is barry will learn the true meaning as to why the lightning chose him and because of its choice why he becomes the speedforce, they didn't really go into detail how the speedforce is dead like can it be jump started back to life or gone until barry figures the solution, barry can take velocity or use some tech to give artificial speed but if there is no more speedforce that would mean the speed would not be from speedforce energy nor would the abilities be the same....for the reason to create a speedforce like Thawne did must be a special or certain of doing it as they never showed RF using tech or drugs to gain speed he literally says over throughout the seasons he created his own speedforce that he can control so obviously Thawne's knowledge of the speedforce is quite advanced over barry's.

That's what I thought. Flash will probably end with Iris still in the mirror, and even maybe on a filler episode.

TVLine mentioned the season only filmed 20 out 22 episodes episodes before the shutdown.
