Wait...really? I think S1 was miles ahead of this season writing wise. And this season still isn't bad, but they found a way to keep a sense of mystery with Wells even once we knew he was reverse Flash. He was a layered character that kept us guessing right up to the end. Zoom is very simple in comparison. He's cool looking and freaky, but as of now, his motivation is pretty simple and there's absolutely no personal connection to Barry thus far. That doesn't mean he's bad, but he's definitely been less engaging than Wells was last season.

S1 has something that S2 doesn't; emotional resonance. Zoom's motivations aren't ambiguous. He is literally telling us his objective. There is hardly any uncertainty with his actions, it's boring as a main big bad. Yes his introduction was all kinds of cool but he's not scary anymore, we know exactly what his purpose is (which is kinda lame, stealing speed, eh k). Plus I've met Tony Todd and he's one of the nicest guys out there, amazing voice actor though.

With S1 you felt there was so much going on with RF and Barry that you could almost build the entire show spanning a few seasons on it. RF did keep us guessing until the end which was the main reason I kept watching because the character was a swirl of contradictions. What the writers are doing this season is such a step backward in terms of story development and characters that I almost lose interest in the show as a whole. Zoom isn't RF and never will be. They need to find that emotional trigger again for the stories to make a resounding impact on their audience. Personal attachment is everything to the main lead, you've hit on the point instantly when you pit RF against Zoom where villains are concerned.

I still wonder why he want's to get more speed. What is his motivation ?
He already seems to be the fastest speedster by far and can take over the world if he wants to (if that's his goal).

It would be a bit boring if he needs the speed just as a drug addict needs more drugs. On the other hand what else could it be ? He is already fast enough to time travel.

The Black Racer maybe?
Maybe the Accelerator accident depowered the Racer and he's desperately trying to return to the Fourth World to prevent some greater tragedy like the Crisis of Infinite Worlds?
Could this be a hint about Darkseid?

Since Darkseid will be in the Dcau, fighting the JL, I highly doubt we'll get him here.

I watched a Supergirl episode, 'For the Woman who has everything' (or something). It's the only one I've seen.
According to the SG forum, that was a good to great episode, but I honestly cannot see myself watching anything of that show again, I thought it was a bit rubbish.
So not really looking forward to their crossover.

I love that show, but personally, I found that episode to be kinda boring...

yep more then one place is abuzz with this saying nearly the same thing

for example. which earth is zoom from? for example below in red.

"The Flash" Unmasks Zoom, Reveals His True Identity

SPOILERS! In "King Shark," the latest episode of "The Flash," Zoom revealed his true identity.

Read it now on CBR...

SPOILER WARNING: This article contains major spoilers for "King Shark," the latest episode of "The Flash."
Zoom revealed himself to be Jay Garrick in "King Shark."

The mystery of Zoom's identity has finally been solved.

In "King Shark," the latest episode of "The Flash," Zoom revealed his true identity as Jay Garrick.

At the close of the episode, the show flashed to Zoom's lair. Zoom walked into frame holding Jay's body, which appears limp and lifeless, and dumped him to the ground as the man in the metal mask looked on in horror. Zoom then pulled his mask off, only to reveal... Jay Garrickunderneath.

Of course, that raises many more questions, not the least of which is: which Jay Garrickbelongs to which Earth?

It's entirely possible that Zoom is actually Earth-1's Hunter Zolomon, Jay's doppelganger from "Return of the Reverse-Flash." In the comics, Hunter Zolomon becomes Zoom. The character first appeared in Geoff Johns and Scott Kolins' "The Flash: Secret Files & Origins" #3 as Zolomon, before taking up the mantle of Zoom in "The Flash" #197.
Alternatively, Zoom could be Jay Garrick from another Earth entirely; for instance, in the comics, Earth-3 is the home of the Crime Syndicate, an evil, inverted version of the Justice League.

Whatever the case, Zoom's identity likely won't be exactly as it appears. After all, in the first season of "The Flash," Eobard Thawne spent a bulk of his time disguised as Harrison Wells, which means there's precedence for speedsters disguising themselves as other characters. What's more, Earth-2 seems to be more advanced in science than Earth-1 is, which means it may have developed the technology that allowed Thawne to change his appearance a lot earlier than Earth-1 did.

Whoever this version of Jay Garrick turns out to be, it seems to deeply affect the man in the metal mask, which may hold another clue as to this mysterious man's identity.
Starring Grant Gustin, Carlos Valdes and Jesse L. Martin, "The Flash" returns airs Tuesdays at 8 pm EST on The CW.

King Shark. Another fantastic episode.

Seasons 1 and 2 of "The Flash" are like what "The Avengers" and "Age of Ultron" are to each other, in the sense where when you really think about it, the folks in charge are really just copying on what they did in their first run and trying to present it with a different twist. (Watch the "Honest Trailer" for AOU)

1. At the start of the season, Joe gets a new partner that's both an attractive blonde and eventually ends up dating one of his kids: Eddie/Patti

2. The Villain of the Season is a evil speedster who desires to utilize Barry's speed for his own nefarious reason and is also someone who either looks like (or actually is) someone that Barry had trusted as a mentor: Wells/Jay

3. Caitlin loses the love of her life: Ronnie/Jay

While I found avengers 1 to be very overrated and AOU to be slightly better. Where with flash I found season 1 to be much then season 2 has even though I still like season 2.

If anything, I feel like the show revealing that Zoom's trademark face is just an clever mask, with a normal looking guy's face underneath, kind of takes away the edge and mystique about his character.

I wish Zoom was a speed demon entity without a human host. I wonder if Barry will become a Black Flash.

Maybe Jay 3/Zoom is from Supergirl's Earth, since a crossover is happening.

And who's the actress playing the lady speedster in the promo for the next episode?

I think her name is Allison Paige.

Supergirl's Earth didn't have any super-powered entities operating openly on it other than Superman prior to Supergirl's emergence, so it doesn't seem likely that Zoom!Jay is from there, but we'll see.

But since Monday night with the episode with the jailer she made a reference about the other city that has people that wear masks and people are pushing she meant Gotham. who know's what's being pushed of late now?

^ Notice that I specified "superpower entities". Heroes like the Arrow Clan from her Earth's Star City or the Bat Family would not be superpowered and therefore would not violate, at least technically, what the Pilot established, whereas Zoom!Jay being from her Earth would.

well I wasn't really referencing that it was more prior that they said "earth didn't have any other hero "other then her and super man. which I'm sure alot of people on the forum saw you state that alot prior. cause it's at the start of the show pf super girl . and now it's something about super powered entity's.

In light of her "masks" quip, Kara's statement from the Pilot now becomes one of "a certain point of view" where she considered Superman a hero for all of Earth rather than one particular individual location, and not the absolute definitive "there were no other heroes besides Superman, period" statement it had appeared to be.

Well we won't be seeing any of the other heroes for a while besides what she said to the jailer this week about there being masked heroes or vigilant in another city.

It was just a shout out eater egg. it was an interesting one though.

I wouldn't consider the quip to constitute an "Easter Egg", but that's just my personal opinion. Others' mileage may vary.

IDk man,. Zoom just kind of lost allof his mystique to me. Zoom is this evil menacing entity of destruction,. and yet unmasked he looks like a chump. Gotta say the reveal bummed me out a bit.
