Maybe he pulled himself through the breach. Or rather his future self pulled his present self into the breach.

Its going to be intersting to see how they explain all this and finding out who ZOom really is.
Yeah, the reveal better be worth it. I know he's biased but Tom Cavanagh said it's one of the best things the show's done.

Im wonder when Jesse and Wally are gonna be up as Speedsters.
Probably last episode? All speedsters vs. Zoom? #IWish

Except we did.

That guy is teddy sears.

Appreciate I am playing catch up here, but just finished watching Season 1 on DVD and absolutely loved it, perfectly executed tv series with heart, emotion and great action. The central story was well handled and Reverse Flash story well done.

I have question, how did wells travel through the breach by himself earlier in the season sincena everytime you either need the flash or zoom to go through. That has bugged me all season and just was curious what everybody thought

It only gets better with ZOOM

I like the way it's separating all the key elements of Flash history as the general mistake is that Reverse Flash and Zoom are one of the same.

I agree. For me I have never seen anything like zoom before heartless cold blooded calculated. Reverse flash was more a master manipulator. He held every card in his hand and played it perfectly. He was so precise in what he did and how he did it throughout all of season 1. Zoom by God is either super arrogant or he really is the baddest mofo in all of the shows.

I think Barry needs a power up though. Like really bad. I'm seriously tired of seeing other speedsters beat the physical **** out of him.

Maybe on both earth's identical twins were born, Jay and Hunter and one was given to another family, like Malcolm and Barry in the comics. Hunter works for Zoom in earth 2 and helped him capture Jay so that he could take his place because he's jealous of his life, and he's since been impersonating Jay. But on earth 1, Jay was still born and and Hunter was still given away. I know I would like a more personal motivation for Zoom than speed addict. I'd take Eddie having time traveled after being sucked into the singularity and being corrupted by the speed force and getting amnesia, with the only memory being of the Flash, hence the costume.

God bless you! God bless everyone!

I had thought of thew twin scenario, but it sounded too complicated to have one actor play four characters essentially.

What I never understand is that Jay claimed to become the Flash 2 years ago, the same time Barry did, but then he also says he has been fighting Zoom for two years.

Maybe there could be duplicates of the clones of Jay's twins.

Has the name "Edward Clariss" come up yet?
not yet it's a theory put up by CBR and newssara and a few others cause he is connected to the serum velocity 9 in the books like Jessy quick's father johnny quick.(though in the show earth 2 wells is her dad) They are the two people/ characters directly involved in the serums creation.

but that character is a main foe of jay Garrick. jus as professor zoom as to barry and Zoom after him is to wally. it's just theory for now cause jay was in erath 1 while zoom in the show was earth 2 give barry Cisco and earth 2 dr.wells trouble at the very same time.

it would make sense that some is posing as jay while zoom is doing other things and there's an accomplice thus two villains partnered up.

Maybe the silence is because Clariss is in Starling city. :o

lol anyways, all we know as I said in a nother thread is that Caitlin has been listent oo much to jay and he told her the cure would work by finding that earth one doppelganger of his. he said earth 2 jay was renamed zolomon there via adoption.

but he was doing all the talking and she never double checked like thea would cause Caitlin has the hot's for that fake jay just too what he said at face value .

Even though he lied about his power being taken by zoom and also stating it was due to himself being on that earth one that his powers didn't work there formerly.

And then he went nuts saying it was earth2 wells fault when he heard about the velocity 6 serum.

he may not be zoom but I'm sure he's an accomplice / partner.

Which he stated later he took a version the serum before all this. yet he was blaming earth 2 wells for that serum which that the first time earth 2 wells was dealing with that serum at all .

n there's too much off with the jay that was on earth one hanging around the star labs team. too much off.

Maybe a rough estimate. Assuming Zoom popped up a few months(3-4) after Jay became the Flash, that would make it near two years. Unless Zoom had it out for Jay before Jay became the Flash. Zoom can likely time travel easily with how fast he is. So it's quite possible he attempted to kill Jay on occassions before Jay became the Flash. Hell it's even possible that Zoom might have had a little something to do with Jay becoming the Flash.

Infact if Jay has been fighting Zoom for two years and Jay became Flash two years ago? Jay cold be Zoom possible? Like I know thats a very slim slope but still. Anything could happen. Reverse Flash came back. So why not.

Maybe when he says he's been fighting Zoom for 2 years, he means that he's been fighting a part of himself, like fighting his dark side. Maybe he's a kind of Jekyll and Hyde character with one side good and one side evil.

Also, maybe Jay had Zoom pull him through the breach in the end in order to make Barry come after him since he would want to save him. Maybe it's a plan B trap to lure him back to Earth 2 and steal Barry's speed force.

It was inevitable there would be a return to Earth 2. And I'm glad we're seeing more of Killer Frost.

How is she not dead?

she was freezing him so it's possible she could have escaped cold does bother barry when he's caught by surprise and lets say the made the terrain in the hid out of zoom's difficult to traverse for a speedster like lots of walls and the floor was like a skating ring so it was hard for him to get up when she escaped. be sides his main objective was to catch up with barry cisco earth 2 dr.well's and his daughter. so there's what zoom considers as priority's. he can find her any other time later since she's on earth 2. them being on another earth how ever?....

Got this from CBR's face book.

I've also put this in dark ravens thread.

Is Jay bad news?

Is "Flash's" Man in the Iron Mask Harboring a Dark Secret About Jay Garrick?
"Escape from Earth-2" presented whole new set of characters to theorize about, including the mysterious masked man imprisoned by Zoom.

SPOILER WARNING: The following contains major spoilers for this week's episode of "The Flash," "Escape from Earth-2."

The arrival of Earth-2's Jay Garrick (Teddy Sears) in the final moments of the second season's premiere added a new wrinkle to "The Flash." His arrival introduced a seasoned speedster to the show, one who knew more about the Speed Force and how to harness it than Barry Allen. Though the team was initially leery of his motivations, he earned their trust -- and a little more than just trust from Cailtin Snow -- but after the events of this week's episode, "Escape From Earth-2," it appears that Jay may have been lying to Team Flash all along.

The previous episode saw Barry and Cisco head to Earth-2 with Harrison Wells in order to rescue Wells' daughter, Jesse Quick, from Zoom's clutches. Last episode, the three were successful in their quest and returned to Earth-1 with Jesse. However, the victory proved short-lived as Jay Garrick presumably met an untimely demise when Zoom's clawed hand shot through the portal -- and through Jay's chest -- pulling him back to Earth-2 just as the breach closed. While we'll have to wait until next week to see if Jay somehow managed to survive, what happened earlier in the episode might be even more important than what happened at the climax.

RELATED: Place Your Bets: Who is Zoom, "The Flash's" Terrifying New Nemesis?

While attempting to save Jesse, Earth-1's Barry Allen was taken captive by Zoom and imprisoned alongside her and a mysterious man in an iron mask. Unable to speak, the masked man could only tap on his glass prison. Barry eventually realized he was spelling something out using a 5x5 tap code: J-A-Y. Barry assumed he was asking about Jay Garrick, but the man appeared upset when he learned Jay was safe on Earth-1. The curious reaction poses a potentially game-changing question: Is it possible the man in the mask is the real Earth-2 Jay Garrick, and that the person helping Team Flash has been an impostor all along?

Below, we present several theories based on the assumption that the man in the iron mask is some version of Jay Garrick. For the sake of our argument, we're starting from the stance that the Jay who first arrived on Earth-1 is harboring some kind of dark secret beyond losing access to the Speed Force.

Question #1: Who is the Man in the Iron Mask?
The man in the iron mask tapped out three letters: J-A-Y. While Barry thought the masked man was asking if Jay was OK, when he explained that he was safe back on Earth-1 the man in the mask became distraught, frantically shaking his head back and forth. Why would Jay being safe be a bad thing? The most logical theory is that the man in the mask is the real Jay Garrick from Earth-2. He could be upset because the man claiming to be Jay on Earth-1 is an impostor. If that's true, the real Jay might still have his speed, and Zoom is holding him hostage until he's able to devise a way to steal it.

Question #2: Who is Jay Garrick?
When Jay Garrick arrived on Earth-1, he had no speed and no trace of the Speed Force in his cells, but he knew everything there was to know about Team Flash and eventually taught Barry a new way to use his powers. All of these signals were initially red flags for Barry not to trust him. If this Jay is an impostor, his true identity could be one of the following characters from "Flash" comic lore:

  • Earth-2 Edward Clariss/The Rival
  • Earth-2 Hunter Zolomon
  • Earth-2 Everyman
  • Earth-3 Jay Garrick

Earth-2 Edward Clariss/The Rival
In the comics, Earth-2 Edward Clariss was a scientist who became obsessed with Jay Garrick's The Flash. Clariss was so desperate to become a speedster, he created a speed serum called Velocity 9. Its effects were temporary, but they gave Clariss the speed he so desperately desired, and he used his new powers to become a villain who went by the name "The Rival." Though there are some differences, this follows the track Jay Garrick has been on since he arrived on Earth-1: He arrived with no speed, he was an expert in The Flash's abilities, and he convinced Caitlin to create a stable version of Velocity 6, which she named Velocity 9, which is too great acoincidence not to mention. Soon after Velocity 9 was complete and injected into Jay's system, he was conveniently pulled back to Earth-2. Because Zoom abducted him, the illusion was complete and everyone would think Jay died a hero.

Earth-2 Hunter Zolomon
When Jay wanted to show Caitlin his Earth-1 double, he showed her a man named Hunter Zolomon. Asked why he wasn't named Jay Garrick, Jay explained that Zolomon was adopted on this Earth and thus had a different name. In the comics, Zolomon was friends with the Wally West version of The Flash, though they eventually became bitter enemies and Zolomon took on the name Zoom. After the events of last episode, it stands to reason that Earth-2 Jay's real name may very well be Hunter Zolomon/Zoom, and we simply haven't met Jay Garrick yet. Could Zoom be Earth-2's Garrick, and the man in the mask be the real Earth-1 Garrick?

Earth-2 Everyman
The metahuman named "Everyman" appeared on Earth-1 in "The Flash" Season 1, Episode 19. He could morph into anyone he wanted to be just by touching their skin. Earth-1's Hannibal Bates/Everyman was killed by Joe West, but that doesn't mean he's not alive and morphing on Earth-2. What if Zoom used Everyman to travel to Earth-1 to pretend to be Jay Garrick so Team Flash could create Velocity 9? If Zoom was also suffering from the effects of Velocity 6, he would want to use Velocity 9 to boost his speed without any damaging effects. This theory was previously posited by Jason Inman on The Flash Podcast this week, and seems to hold some weight.

Earth-3 Jay Garrick
If the man under the mask is Earth-2 Jay Garrick, and Earth-1 Jay Garrick is actually the man who goes by the adoptive name of Hunter Zolomon, could the impostor actually be Earth-3's Jay Garrick? When Barry, Cisco and Wells entered the portal they saw characters and heroes from other earths -- including Supergirl. What if there exists a third Jay who is an evil incarnation Jay Garrick from from Earth-3? In the comics, Earth-3 was created in the wake of "Infinite Crisis" and is the home of the Crime Society, the evil version of the Justice Society. That means the impostor could be Johnny Quick, the villainous speedster from that Earth.
"The Flash" airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on The CW and stars Grant Gustin, Jesse L. Martin, CandicePatton, Carlos Valdes, Tom Cavanagh and Danielle Panabaker.

So I don't watch super girl but I saw something about how it returns feb 22 and that just reminding me that this show like a lot of other shows is going to have a break again before the season ends. I had forgotten about that. So my question is do we know when this show is going to have its final break before we get the rest of the season?

I think Garrick Earth to is really Hunter Zolomon and used some weird tech like Thawne (Like with wells) to pose as Jay Garrick. (Since earth 2 seems more advanced). They hinted that before with earth 1 Zolomon.

My question~ is ZOOM really Clariss?? I mean he is the only one with a blue lightning (Excluding the future Barry). I mean he was my obvious first guess so if it is.. I would be disappointed. But would make the most sense. If it is following the comics.

If Clariss is there at all, I think he was the one posing as Jay on earth one before being taken back by zoom. he is Jay's arch enemies and it would make sense to imitated him.

I'm not sure about zoom but it's possible he's a version of Zolomon

But then again. my thoughts are on the fake Jay. which iI think was an accomplice/ partner to zoom. Zoom can be alot of people and I need more clues.

Forget speedsters. I'm a little tired of him being beaten by *non* speedsters, who aren't even making a pretense at using logical anti-speedster tactics and methods. A non-speedster shooting anything at Barry should be an absolute non-threat.
