Wonder if he means that in terms of just being excited to get to work with him, or if he means that his character is more than just who they're saying he is.

Could be the big bad, they've said this season's primary villain isn't a meta, so a science background would help out there, and with the season opening with Flashpoint they probably won't have to intro the big bad for a few episodes at least.

With CWs new Netflix deal, new seasons of their shows will now be available 8 days after the season finale airs. But due to this, CW is leaving Hulu.

When will netflix put up season 2?
Normally they put up the most recent season a few weeks before the new season comes out, but after the DVD comes out. So I expect late September.

Didn't season1 of Flash and season 3 of Arrow not get put up on Netflix until after the shows had already started up their new seasons though?

It makes me confused because based off this deal the new season should be up now

My guess is that the new deal applies to future seasons, not those that have already aired. So S4 Arrow, S2 Flash, S1 LOT, and S1 Supergirl get put up in October, like usual, but then S5 Arrow, S3 Flash, S2 LOT, and S2 Supergirl will get put up 8 days after those seasons end.

What is left for Malcolm Merlyn's character at this point other than to just show up and either be a pain in Team Arrow's side or provide some pathos for Thea? Maybe have him wind up in National City, give Supergirl someone to combat.

Telling all the Arrow characters that he was Ras al Ghul wasn't enough, so he's expanding!

As far as Flash goes they could make it so he is the Green Arrow instead of Oliver in the weird flashpoint timeline.
That's actually a great idea. I mean, Earth 2 already had some resemblance to Flashpoint from the comics, so they need to change things up. Plus, it was always said that Malcolm was essentially what Bruce Wayne would had become in Batman Begins had he followed Ra's and the League, so I'd be interested to see a Malcolm that trained but then turned his back out of a moral issue, as opposed to him being cowardly and selfish.

I think Arrow has milked Malcolm Merlyn for all he's worth, at this point.

I think Malcolm sucks so much.

Oh, he would still be a kill happy a*****e like Thomas Wayne was. The main thing you are missing is that emotional connection between the two Green Arrows, I would make it so in the Flashpoint timeline something happened to Robert when Oliver was a young child and he and Moira got married, this could be what tempers him away from wanting to kill everyone with an earth quake machine but not enough to stop him from going out to avenge his initial loss as the Green Arrow.

I'm really confused about what purpose Malcolm Merlyn is supposed to serve anymore. He hasn't done anything interesting in a long time, and he rarely contributes anything useful or crucial to the plot anymore. They've done just about everything they can with him, and his character's potential seems to be used up at this point.

I don't understand what else they think they can do with him. Whenever he shows up now, his role in the story just feels forced and superfluous. It would have made more sense to just kill him off at the end of Season 4 along with Damien Darhk. It's clear that the writers are struggling to come up with new reasons to have him on the show, so they may as well just get rid of him.

Yeah it feels like the Thea arc was to try and keep him relevant still. But it was horrible lol.

I wish he was just the dark archer that would always allude Ollie but still control things behind the scenes.
