What were the chances of a glowing endorsement from Newell on Window 8? :woot:

I'm playing FTL. Dayum this game is something. On my 3rd run I had just gotten a Mantis crewmate, was starting to accumulate some supplies and starting to get a sense of security when I responded to a distress call. I ended up getting boarded while a drone was picking me off outside all while the main ship was lobbing missiles at me. Ended up having to sacrifice two crew members to repair the life support system before we all suffocated but I barely made it which felt good if harrowing.

Then a Rebel fighter craft finished me off in the next system. :(

The problem with Windows 8 is that it's so mobile based and for touch screens that it doesn't make sense to make it your OS for home computers and non touch screen laptops. There's much that needs to be changed with it, and adjustments need to be made to accomodate other users. I think it's great for the surface and ultrabook laptops, but everything else it just isn't as strong.

Rest In Peace, PlayStation 2 (2000-2012)

Having stopped shipping in Japan last year, The Guardian has confirmed with Sony that PlayStation 2 production has now ceased worldwide.

Let that sink in for a second. There are no more PlayStation 2 consoles being made. Anywhere. Once the new consoles already on shelves are gone, that's it.

While it's almost 13 years old, and has long ceased to be relevant as a frontline console, the fact is the PS2 was still, until very recently, selling over a million units a year, and was outselling more contemporary platforms like Sony's handhelds.

It's been with us for so long, and been such an important console for so long, that it's kind of hard imagining a world where there are no more PlayStation 2s available on a shelf.

With over 150 million consoles sold since its release in 2000, the PS2 is easily the world's most successful home video game console of all time.

You'll see a lot of people point to things like the PS2's DVD player and series like Grand Theft Auto (a former console exclusive on Sony's machine) as the pillars of its success, but I've always felt the things that really pushed the PS2 into the stratosphere were efforts like SingStar, which helped drive the console into the mainstream (and helped sales explode in Europe, previously a third wheel in console markets) long before the Wii came along.

Perhaps the most fitting tribute for the console, at least from me personally, is that while I traded in my Xbox in 2006, and my GameCube sits on a shelf alongside action figures, my silver PlayStation 2 remains not just out in the open, but plugged into the TV.

The PlayStation 2 is survived by one child, the PlayStation 3, and a nephew, the PlayStation Portable.

I'll probably have to buy all the weapons as DLC after buying the game. :o

After the recent shooting in Connecticut, gun control has become a volatile issue and many fingers have been pointed towards video games and other similarly violent media. President Obama has created a task force to discuss the issue and it involves the Vice President Joe Biden, the NRA, and video game makers, along with a number of other groups and representatives.

Yeah.. I can't wait for wacky ol' Joe Biden to meet with game developers.

Anyway... Silent Hill Downpour has been dang good.

What about doctors? Psychologists? They should be involved.

This.

Altho, i think we should just drop the subject altogether and stop pretending the world doesnt like violence. It seems to be human nature. I mean you can go back as far as you want in history and there has always been a celebration of violence. I think its just 'human' to enjoy it and it sure as hell isnt changing.

OH MY GOD, THESE PEOPLE LOVE ME
LEGO MARVEL GAME. I LOVE PLENTY OF THOSE LEGO GAMES, AND IT'S ABOUT TIME THIS HAPPENS

Sorry, so much enthusiasm.
I kinda wish they'd start with a Fantastic Four game, I want a good LEGO Fantastic Four game
Still my favorite home system, had a great run

So, I barely used the PSN store these last couple months. But now that I've actively playing on my PS3 again, I was looking for new stuff in the store. God damn I hate why they have done with it.

It's been 3 months and they still haven't improved it. Funny bc if you try to get DLC from within a game, it goes to the old store instead of the crappy new one

Eh. This HD stuff is getting out of hand.

It's really stupid. Everyday people tell me that they NEED 250 Hertz on their TV. I'm like "You know...Your eyes can't even process that, right? And it's only really for 3D bs..."

But...Because commercials tell them...

See I'm fine with 720p at 60hz. But that really limits the size of the tv I can get.

I don't ever plan on doing it. I've gone back to just buying DVD's because they are cheaper.
