In celebration of the new Super Smash Bros in a couple months, I bring a character who some may shake their heads at. I promise to bring something worthwhile from this. t:

(No nonsense) Application for the "Get Violent" Video Game RPG

Name of character and game that he/she/it appears in: Red, Pokemon

Powers/skills/inventory of the character: Red is a Pokemon master who at the time of blackout is carrying with him three pokemon: Charizard, Ivysaur, and Squirtle. He carries each in a small ball and can release them at will.

Will your character be bringing any other characters, items from their game with them?: Just his Pokemon.

Why have you chosen this character?: I have always thought that the series has squandered the great potential that people carrying monsters around with them to do their will has. I played this game alot when it first came out and I was in middle school, and I hope to bring it back to what I loved about it originally, and away from the gayness that it has gravitated towards.

Can you provide any need-to-know information about your character for players with no knowledge of that character? Pokemon trainers catch Pokemon and battle them with each other. The pokemon is somehow turned into light energy and stored in Pokeballs and carried by the trainer. Obviously since Red is the only trainer in New York, he will no longer need to abide by the rules of the Pokemon League, so expect to see him use them in a bit more violently and not just in battles.

Please provide your sample "blackout" post if your character comes from a different time to the present setting:

Red walked quietly through the strange cave. He turned to his large Pokemon, Charizard, who's tail flame was lighting the way. "We should be close. Mew should be somewhere around here."

Charizard nodded.

Suddenly, just ahead in the dark, a faint sound was heard. It sounded like a small cat.

"Did you hear that?"

Suddenly, a bright white light flashed, filling the cave. For a split second, he saw Mew. That was the last thing he saw before he blacked out.

Red shook his head and he strained to gain focus on the world around him. "What the...where am I?"

The young nurse at his bedside smiled at him. "Take it easy, friend. You're going to be okay."

Red sat up in his bed. He seemed to be in a hospital. "What happened?"

"You're lucky. Nobody else survived that beasts attack. It seemed to be trying to defend you actually."

Red was confused. What the hell had happened? "What beast?"

"Oh, wow. You really don't remember anything, do you? A big orange dragon appeared in the warehouse you were working at and began to attack everything. It was breathing fire and everything. Burnt the whole building to the ground."

Red's eyes widened. "Oh no. Where is he now?"

The nurse looked confused. "Don't worry, State Wildlife apprehended him and took him in for study."

Red jumped out of the bed and pulled his pants on. "That's my Charizard! I need to go, right now." He pulled on his red cap and ran down the hall.

Awesome. Will there be any wild pokemon running around New York as a result? It'd be awesome for link to beat down Pikachu.

I wasn't really planning on it. There would have to be a connection somewhere between the Pokemon world and the real world, which there isn't as of yet. Mew just linked the worlds for a second and then it was over. Doesn't mean it couldn't happen again though, and it doesn't mean that Link couldn't try to take on Red. t:

I think we need to update the roster so that when people check out the thread they know exactly who' playing who and who's available. Because at the minute its a mess.

Its not too bad actually, I'm going to PM everyone on the list and ask if they're still in or if they're out.

Yea, I see what you mean. I'll probably edit the use of Chaos Control out, but I would like to use the maneuver eventually.

Also, in Sonic's blackout post, he says Metal killed everyone he cared about. I personally don't think Sonic cares to much for Eggman or Shadow. Other than that, I believe that's all that needs to be addressed.

Well I think he's going for more of what happens in the comics. They become mutual allies and can be considered friends by some. But seeing as how he hasn't been on in weeks (To my knowledge). Just go ahead and do what you want. He can't have that much trouble with it.

Sonic cares about Shadow to some degree. He doesn't necessarily care about Eggman though, but he wasn't referring to Eggman. Anyway, I'll start posting in a minute. I've been trying to think of some place cool for him to appear.

Fox will be keeping ties with his team, just so you know. Thats really the only way I consider Fox. From his games. Smash Bros kinda has no point.

Yeah, Smash Bros is a sweet game, but there is absolutely no real story behind it. I was actually considering picking up Fox as a second, but I think I might go with a villain. I'm huge on Nintendo, so I'm trying to think of a cool villain. Possibly one of the other Bounty Hunters from Metroid Prime Hunters on the DS. Hmmm...

Well its too late now. I had Fox under consideration since and reserved since this first came up in the App. forum. And after finishing SF Adventures, there's no way I ain't playin him.
