Name of character and game that he/she/it appears in:
Kratos Aurion (Tales of Symphonia, Tales of the World) [Font: Palatino Linotype, Navy, Bold]
Powers/skills/inventory of the character:
Kratos is a highly skilled fighter, capable of wielding double-edged swords or daggers with shields in melee combat. He is knowledgeable with magic and can execute fire, lightning, earth and angelic spells to attack his opponents, as well as use healing techniques to recover himself and others.
Will your character be bringing any other characters, items from their game with them?:
Aside from his necessary weapons and equipment, I believe it would be appropriate for Kratos to come in alone, for now.
Why have you chosen this character?:
Kratos has been my favorite character from Tales of Symphonia ever since the game first came out. He was the first character of the game I instantly fell in love with. He is cold, mysterious, deadly, wise, strong and compassionate. His story is so powerful yet depressing, and he is a well-balanced character. When he constantly bested Lloyd, I laughed. When he betrayed the group, I was angry. When he was revealed to be Lloyds father, I gasped with shock. When he told Lloyd the painfully true story about how Anna died, I was in tears.
(As a matter of fact, the moment I found out I could get him back in my party late in the game, I never gave Zelos another chance! *Laughs.*)
I believe I can write Kratos, do him justice and keep him true to his character. I want to create memorable storylines with him and anyone that interacts with him, have fun and improve my writing skills at the same time.
[Request: Please place Kratos on the roster as Walking the Line.]
Can you provide any need-to-know information about your character for players with no knowledge of that character?
(Sorry, ToS fans, spoilers ahead!)
Kratos is one of the Four Seraphim (a high-ranked angel) from the Kharlan War that took place four thousand years ago. Of the four, he is the only human of the group; Mithos, Martel and Yuan are half-elves. During the time of the war, he used an ability that took his bodys mana, altered its metabolism and froze the bodys internal clock, allowing him to stop aging and possess the capability of living longer than elves. This explains why he appears to only be twenty-eight years old.
When you first encounter Kratos, he is a mercenary who gets paid to do dangerous missions. His latest assignment is to protect the Chosen of Sylvarant, Collette, on her Journey of Regeneration. He proves to be a worthy ally, despite his rather icy demeanor, and trains Lloyd to become a better fighter. When the group arrives at the Tower of Salvation, however, Kratos turns traitor and reveals himself to be an angel of Cruxis, working under the command of Lord Yggdrasill.
Although he becomes the groups new enemy, he occasionally aids them in their encounters while not exactly giving them direct information, supposedly putting himself in the role of a double agent. Later on, it is revealed that he is Origins seal. Unfortunately for him, one night, Yuan threatens to kill Lloyd if he does not release the seal. He gives away the secret that Kratos is Lloyds father and tries to kill Lloyd, but he is protected by his surprisingly-discovered father.
Through a series of events, Kratos betrays Mithos (Yggdrasill) and returns to side with Lloyd, giving his son the Flameberg, which becomes one of the two powerful Material Blades. After the group defeats Mithos and revives the Giant Kharlan Tree, Kratos asks Lloyd to use the Eternal Sword to break the bond between the two worlds, Sylvarant and Tethealla, and Derris-Kharlan with him on the comet of mana. The departing words he says as Derris-Kharlan flies away: Do not die before I do, Lloyd... my son.

His son finally accepted him. He finally called him dad.
As he watched the distance between himself and Lloyd grow, as he saw himself drift further and further away from Sylvarant and Tethealla, and as he stood on the grounds of Derris Kharlan, alone, he wasnt sure if he would ever be able to see his son again. He had to bear the responsibility for what happened, atone for his sins. Mithos Yggdrasill was gone. The Great Kharlan Tree was resurrected into the form of a small plant. He was one of the last remaining survivors of Cruxis.
Every planet in the universe was small compared to outer space. Derris-Kharlan was even smaller. And human beings, angels, demons... a miniscule compared to all. He stood there, a statue in the distance, a frozen seraphim in time. His breathing was light, and when he closed his eyes, a single tear fell down his face.

Wandering for what feels like an eternity... how long has it really been? His eyes watch the planets, stars, comets and meteors go by. Drifting in space can make anyone lose track of time. Regardless, Kratos Aurion still looks the same. His blue and white seraphim wings are as idle as him.
He flinches when he feels a change in the atmosphere, opening his eyes and searching. Something wasnt right. He places his right hand on the hilt of his sword, fingers caressing the rough material uneasily, then stopping the motion and grabbing hold.

He can hear something running.

A wave of energy emits from the blade and it races down a single direction, gravelling through the ground and hitting something unusual and unwelcome. He narrows his eyes and jumps back, a cut across his left upper arm, and blood soon follows. The lights from the stars glimmer brighter and reveal a creature of shadow, crouched and growling. Neither of them moved and they were quiet... until the creature opened its mouth.
Kratos.
The ex-mercenary does not move, but his eyes slightly widen for a brief moment. This creature could speak. Where did it come from? Why was it here? It waits for him to respond, and he does with a tone of caution.

Seraphim of Sword. You will never see your son again.

He was only able to take a step forward before the creature screeched, creating a vortex and throwing it towards him. He was unable to avoid it, his body becoming paralyzed as the darkness consumed him, his yells disappearing with him.
When he opens his eyes, he will find himself in a whole new world called Earth.
