The shot of him walking down the hallway in the new suit looks great, its looking sleeker and more refined and less over designed like the original cowl was I think.

One of my favorite shots from the trailer.

We briefly also see the new suit (mask) at 1:38 of the new trailer.

It looks good from side profile. Overall an improvement and i'm looking forward to seeing more of it.

Good catch. Yeah it seems they got rid of the ear pieces. I liked them because it reminds me of how you can see his ears outlined in the comics, but it does take down some of the bulk.

I think this improvement is also somewhat related to making the suit more flexible and allowing him to more freedom in his movement - which is all I really want from the suit. I don't care if it's all red, red and black, etc. All I want from it is not to sacrifice his movement and let him be the ninja he was in Season 1. :daredevil:ndd:

Is the new mask (and suit?) a brighter shade of red? It looks like it in those promotional photos and in that hallway shot.

Great gif. All he needs is the DD and the costume will be 100% fine. Mkaes me wonder why he hasn't tailored in the suit since the papers already call him Daredevil. Is there a narrative reason? It would pretty easy for the costume designers to implement it in the suit.

I wouldn't like the DD on the suit. It's one of those things that works in the comics but probably wouldn't in live action, at least not without the risk of looking cartoonish.

I mean, it's already a guy doing kung fu in a devil outfit. If you can roll with that, two interlocking D's on his chest is probably fine.

Well thats your opinon, cant say your wrong. Cant say you're right.

Despite being outlandish in some aspect it's more "grounded" in others.

Character wise knowing Matt, a guy who only adopted a new costume to prevent getting continually sliced up, want to "brand" himself with the two D's?

The Devil motif overall is a bit outlandish but it's supposed to be somewhat intimidating for criminals to see. Two D's? doesn't do much in that regards.

I think it'd look cartoonish if it happened too soon. If he has it in The Defenders, it might work but if it was by the first episode of season 2, I think it'd be way too fast. His suit is basically a visual metaphor for where Matt is as a hero. It's a work in progress showing that Matt has a lot to learn as a hero. If he got the perfect red outfit with no issues right now, he would have nothing to learn as Daredevil.

Have to agree with you. I can do without the DD's. It doesn't really fulfill anything other than pleasing fanboys. I can get behind making the suit closer to the comics but the logo isn't necessary.

What if it's not a logo but a design element that sometimes resembles two Ds but could also be something else like zips or straps?

If it can be done without looking cheesy, I'm fine with it.

I agree, unless there's a story reason to add it, it's just superfluous. Murdock doesn't seem like the kind of guy who cares about branding that much. I could picture Melvin Potter adding it just because "why not". I just can't picture Murdock going "I don't think people are getting this devil vibe, I need more symbol"

The mask itself is now red. Before it was black.

Now the suit itself? I might be a brighter red. It does have new elements. It certainly isn't that purple red they went with before.

Now as to the DD symbol? There doesn't need to be some super duper special event to tack it on. Matt is now Daredevil, I think he could throw in a little flair. Shows that he's embracing his role. He's already got horns on his head. That means he asked for that. Why not a DD for the new suit?

We are way past the point where we need some kooky explanation for costumes.

That's not entirely true. In one of the conversations with the priest, the priest said "... nothing drives people to the church faster than the thought of the devil snapping at their heels. Maybe that was God's plan all along. Why he created him, allowed him to fall from grace ... to become a symbol to be feared ... warning to us all, to tread the path of the righteous.".

Later in the same episode, Daredevil told Potter that he needed a new suit. And the suit needed to be a symbol. The two D's on the chest I kinda see as the batsymbol that Batman has on his chest. Does he really need that for people to understand that he's Batman? Aren't the huge ears and the cape enough? Sure, it is, but the batsymbol looks awesome. Personally, I could live without the two D's, but it would be cool to see.

On a final note, I just have to say that the dialogue in this show is amazing!

I mean none of the heroes in the MCU need to have symbols yet Cap has the A in his forehead and the star, Vision has the rhomb, Widow has the hourglass symbol so it's wouldn't be so outlandish. Yes, DD is more grounded than the rest of the MCU but i believe they will give him the symbol.

Don't forget that the theme of the season is "what it means to be a hero". Matt will be put on the test and likely come out even more afirmed as DD. He will develop through his moral and physical struggles to become what Hell's Kitchen needs. He is doubting himself now. When he won't he will have the DD.
