I can't think of a more apt comparison with that character description :funny:

perhaps from the POV of joaquin's joker, he sees Baldwin's Thomas Wayne as a slimy trump-like businessman, but in reality that isn't the case

that would be well done under the guise of an unreliable narrator

So it's basically 'gotham' the movie.

What if it's a mixture of interpretations and Joker was responsible for the Waynes death?

In all fairness, he'll probably be a side character on TV in the background etc man i wonder where this film will lead to.

This film has me very intrigued that is for sure.

Making Thomas Wayne a Donald Trump like character is a take that gives me pause on their creative choices.

Casting Alec Baldwin to play a Donald Trump character just reeks of laziness.

Baldwin is 60.

Assume we’re going to see young Bruce in this case? So Joker is going to be way older than Batman.

I mean, I'm fine with a Joker that's older than Batman, but does he really have to be THAT much older ? We already went that territory with Nicholson to the point of making him the Waynes' killer.

This early on, I'd make no presumption of Batman appearing within this timeline.

Batman isn't in this so it doesn't really matter.

Is there a point to be worried about Bruce Wayne's age in a one off elseworld's movie that isn't following any specific comic?

Basically this movie is from Joker's POV so of course he'd come off like that.

Finally! A Thomas Wayne the audience wants to see get shot!

Thomas Wayne being similar to Donald Trump? What the actual ****?

It's as if you people forget Alec Baldwin is an actor and has played in movies for 30+ years.

Actual relevance, he was up to play Batman in Tim Burton's 1989 film. He played Batman's inspiration The Shadow in 1994. I think he's a perfect choice to play the father of Batman.

seeing how he has joined the cast i still say alec baldwin from the 90's would of made a great bruce wayne back in the day

He was a pretty chiseled mother****er back in the 90s.

Would have been perfect...

I know following Beetlejuice that Keaton wouldn't have been inspired casting for the Joker, but it really seemed like Baldwin/Keaton would have been more ideal.

Still love what we got though.

Imagine Balwin vs. Dafaoe :mnm:

Also would have rid of the Joker killing the Waynes...

Ahh, the sun is shining, but the ice is slippery.

Why are some mad that they are going on a different route with Thomas Wayne in this movie :funny:. It's not meant to be canon and comic accurate.

Besides its not like Thomas is a well-defined character. They could be heading in to Telltale's idea where Thomas was corrupted.

I like Baldwin and will be very interested to see what he does with it.
