Sooooo that Daniel R guy that some of you trust just rewteeted this article. If this is true, ummmmmm, WTF? Is GeekVibesNation a real site, or is this satirical? This sounds terrible.

Our good friends over at Nerd Rage Podcast have some details on the new stand alone Joker film. They spoke with who they say is a very reliable source regarding Todd Phillips’ film. I reached out to Nerd Rage and they indicate they were shown actual proof regarding this information. They indicate that Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker will be a riddled drug addict and it is his addiction to drugs that will induce his insanity. They also go on to say that the Joker’s classic white face look will actually be cocaine smeared over his face. Somewhere someone just threw their phone or laptop across the room! Yes I know many of you will call this BS but this could be the route they want to go with this film since it is a stand alone film. This is all early in development so things could for sure change so take this all with a shovel full of salt.

Sooo WB went from war paint to "damaged" and now cocaine smeared all over his face.

Leave Joker's face alone!

This is sounding more like Scorsese's The King of Comedy.

Yeah, I think so too. It's better than a straightforward Joker movie. You have to make a movie about a supporting character so I mean, if you gotta do something I guess this is the way to do it.

I can remember hearing something similar during the pre-production period of The Dark Knight, that the Joker's appearance would be due to drug abuse.

I still have a faint hope that they'll use his classic vat-of-chemicals origin.

You wanna know how I got these drugs?

Yeah, ain’t nothing wrong with that origin.

So, with the TV host being so instrumental in his insanity, does he completely bomb on a talk show or something? I can't really imagine anything else.

KC Walsh says that "The Joker covers his face with cocaine" stuff isn't true.

Don’t be silly. That’s waaaay too comic book, man. And comic books aren’t serious cinema.

It’s just not believable, yeah?

We have to think up a far better, more grounded, more serious way for this psychopathic clown with a fixation on a man dressed as a bat to be created.

Same way we made that silly Superman more serious and grounded in that other movie. That went well.

I'd be happy with the acid bath origin, but I'm not expecting it.

I wonder when we'll get our first look. This is supposed to start filming next month right?

Maybe he’ll fall into a giant vat of coke so that we’ll sort of get permawhite Joker (provided he never takes a bath again).

they already did the acid vat in suicide squad
so what's not been done yet
how about a coke rage Joker

I still want to see the movie just to see how it will all work. Is the whole movie a Joker troll story told to Batman?

I pretty much have blind faith in this project. I trust Phillips and I trust Phoenix even more.

Why do you trust Phillips? I mean, has he ever done anything good enough to warrant your trust? I liked The Hangover the first time I saw it and I laughed at the Tom Green scenes in Road Trip but nothing in his previous filmography convinces me that this movie will be good, aside from (maybe) the casting of Phoenix.

Philips is ok. He's a bit hit or miss for me. I do agree with Joaquin(aside from I'm Still Here, which was laughably stupid).

War Dogs was enjoyable.
