The "Keep Hope Alive" (that the rights can revert back to Marvel) thread - Part 6

A post credit scene or scheduling considerations are too high a price to pay for getting the First Family into the MCU? I'm afraid you are letting your rage against FOX blind you to what is truly important. If an "all or nothing attitude" keeps the FF in limbo until the 2020s, Disney execs need an attitude adjustment.
As much as I want F4 back at Marvel, GoG is proving that Disney doesn't really need them. They want them but they can get random characters and turn them into A listers. I mean, did you think you'd ever hear the day that GoG and Big Hero 6 might possibly outgross Superman? Neither did I but there's a chance it may happen.

I like how the 'Banned Users' thread is calling people out for daring to dislike the idea of this film.

I hope they possess the same intestinal fortitude to admit they were wrong when this turd turns out to be the travesty everyone knows it will be.

Exactly as of now Disney does not need the Fantastic Four

I noticed on Den of Geek that it looks like the Fox lawyers are out and have started issuing takedown notices on the "Thing" photo. Guess they must be bored since they haven't had anything to do since the script leak.

But having Silver Surfer and Galactus in the new Cosmic Marvel would be so incredible though.

Indeed but it is not meant to be right now

Why, exactly, would anyone think a mere "post credit scene" would be enough to get Fox to give back the FF rights?

Amazing since they are the ones who leaked it in the first place. It's no coincidence that it was leaked around Comic Con weekend and they had no panel at all. They have to be pissed off at the hate this film is receiving while GoG is making Marvel money.

If the film fails, and the bizarre choices FOX has made regarding casting, release date and tone suggest it will, then the FF character family will have zero value to the studio outside of whatever small consideration they can squeeze out of Marvel. Sure, FOX execs could choose to play keep away for another seven years or so, but that's not going to help studio heads who will likely be somewhere else when the deadline is up again around 2022.

If turning in the rights early improves relations between the two studios, perhaps even to the level of Sony's relationship with the Mouse, it would be worth it for FOX to cut a smallish deal this time next year and declare victory.

That ship has sailed if you ask me & Sony seems to be going in the same direction. Especially if The Sinister Six fails

Sorry, can't help but repeat myself:

Have you been reading the Beano?

Or maybe Dennis the Menace? Miles Teller does kind of look like him:

Wait they're done already?

How long have they been filming for?

I guess they only did one take per scene

Lol :woot:

Yeah, I have that one too...I think it was one of those 'What if' comics. Maybe "What if Stan Lee & Jack Kirby didn't have a clue what they were doing?" or something like that...:cwink:

Amazing how a month and a half ago, Mara didn't even have a script but now they are done shooting. Amazing!

Maybe they winged it like the cast did in the first Iron Man
