Apparently one of the writers said the new plot synopsis is fake.

I still don't know, I remember Josh Trank insisting Miles Teller wasn't going to be in this too...

I honestly loved The Wolverine and felt it was among Fox's best.

On the other hand. Daredevil, Fantastic Four, Elektra, X3, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer and X-Men Origins Wolverine were all pretty bad. I think that means that Fox has struck out twice.

Sony on the other hand only struck out once but they have two strikes against them from the last three Spider-Man movies and both Ghost Rider films.

While it's entirely possible (probable, even) that the synopsis is made up based on confirmed facts and speculation, Jeremy Slater probably isn't the guy to ask at this stage. The way Simon Kinberg talked in interviews makes it seem like he was rewriting Slater's script during the filming of the movie. The synopsis could be accurate to the rewrite if not the original.

I do find it a bit odd that Fox has been so merciless in scouring the internet for Doom and Thing pics and then threatening legal action every time they come across them. Why put so much effort into hiding what is arguably the only semi-not terrible thing (pun intended) to have possibly come from this move?

You know, I was actually enjoying the Wolverine right up until it became a Fox movie again with a 15 foot Silver Samurai mecha armor and a Viper In Name Only that served no purpose. Its like Fox almost skirted with the idea of giving us a proper Wolverine in Japan film and they just couldn't help themselves in the end.

That's slightly encouraging because if that synopsis is even close, there's no hope left.

But yeah, I've been lied to so many times from people at Fox related to details on this and previous films, that it's pretty much meaningless when someone denies something anymore.

I was against Viper from the very beginning. Of course all I heard in response was the usual "You haven't seen the movie yet how can you judge" but in the end I was right and she was super-lame. Turns out it's not hard to smell a fart when you're locked in the car with it.

I'm more concerned by the fact that guy has never written anything before. Seriously?

Don't worry, he's written plenty. I hear he writes a mean grocery list, and his blogging was a great source of inspiration for his feature film debut.

The main issue with Viper is that Fox couldn't do her right since they don't own the rights to HYDRA.

At the same time, I still can't defend FF. The leaked synopsis sounds accurate given everything we've heard so far. Reed being an undergrad and Sue hating science were the only new information and needless to say, they sound horrible since comics Sue is intelligent and able to keep pace with Reed in addition to being a master planner and negotiator. She's anything but a brainless bystander and hasn't been written that way since the 70s.

John Byrne's changed the dynamic of the entire team throguh character development. Reed began to put Franklin's needs first, Ben was still miserable about being the Thing but made the best of his situation, Johnny stopped being a liability and Sue became the true protagonist. The comics have been that way for the past 30 years.

Even in the Ultimate universe, Sue is depicted as being just as, if not more intelligent as Reed.

Having Thing be able to become human again is just a lame way to save on production costs. It goes against the entire point of his character which is that he CAN'T CHANGE BACK. When it comes to the heavy hitters of the Marvel U, Colossus and Captain America can change back to a normal human form while Captain America, Rogue, Captain Marvel, Thor and Wolverine are completely human in appearance. Thanks a lot Fox, you managed to ruin a great character by taking away the very thing that makes him special just to save money.

And Doctor Doom should never be the first villain the FF fight. He needs to be jealous of Reed Richards before he fights the FF. I'd also have Doom be older and have won Latveria's independence back during the breakup of Yugoslavia when he was just a teenager and has spent the last twenty years making it one of the richest nations in the world. Doom isn't a starter villain.

The way they're half-assing this project and you expect them to spend money on an actual screenwriter? They probably picked some message board poster and promised him a cameo. Why, he could even be...

... one of us.

Hrm.

I think I will, and I think it does indeed, lol :yay:

Just for anyone else's amusement this was the email (since they sent it to me I consider this message my property now, lol):

Funnily enough, the image they mention was an altered one, not the original. I did have the original twinned with an altered one for quick comparison but they didn't mention it. All are gone now though, lol :yay:

Please confirm via e-mail that you will comply with our request.
REVERT BACK TO MARVEL!!!! Should've been your confirmation.

Exact same thing happened to me when that concept art of "Shredder" was leaked from the BayTurtles movie.

Put a picture of it up on my nobody, 1400 follower blog, I was contacted by Tumblr, they said they received a C&D and then THEY removed it for me.

Bad movies do not want their stuff out before the last possible minute.

That's probably how Domaschev got into villainy. He was so outraged that some big corporation asked him to remove an image from his tiny little blog that he decided to hit back against them and defend the 1%.

This Doom probably fights against the corporate businessman Doom of the last FF movies.

Incidentally, Marvel took a different approach with theirs. When AOU was leaked online, they simply put out their official version, but then later did try to track down the leaker. They didn't just shut things down completely. And why? Because they knew they had a product worth showing.

The Peanuts movie(which looks amazing and beautiful and almost makes me tear up) has released YET ANOTHER teaser. This time a year before the movie comes out.

The first one? A year and 8 months before the movie comes out.

When does THIS movie come out? Oh...in August of next year? About 9 months from now? And they don't even have ONE official image yet? Or a confirmed title?

Huh.

Rothman will no longer be an excuse in the future.

The Peanuts movie does look really cool. Fox almost doesn't deserve to make it and should hand it over to another studio after the treatment they've given the FF.

The main issue with Viper is that Fox couldn't do her right since they don't own the rights to HYDRA.

The main issue with Viper was that she was another example of Fox adding a lore name to a film character that was nothing like the character they had created, they even made her a mutant. People would have had far less issues with the character if she had been given any other name, or if they really wanted to use a lore name they could have bothered to take some time to find one that actually fitted the character in the film.

Complete hogwash. Viper could've been just a femme fatale, a brilliant scientist with an expertise in poisons, and a capable fighter, and they would've done justice to the spirit of the character without having to adhere to her HYDRA roots, as well serve the grounded story they tried to tell. But Fox being Fox, they just HAD to turn her into a literal mutant snake lady that brandishes every snake person stereotype :whatever:

So I been away from the Hype for a while now and I come back to check out info on the plethora of films releasing over the next 5 years and LMAO......I come here to the FF forum after getting no news on this film last time and I hear Dr Doom is blogging.

Did FOX take this idea from that You Tube dude JustsomeRandomGuy or something? Where the Green Goblin is a blogger.

Somebody tell me this is a sick joke please. This is worse than the Superman Returns days
when Supes screwed Lois and left the planet without saying a word. And I was here for that.

Reading the posts I see about 98.9 percent of you guys are really excited for this one. LOL
Galactus as a duststorm in space and now this. FOX got another winner.

Personally, I'm enthusiastic about the changes and hope we get the train wreck of a movie we're all expecting it to be.

At the very least it will be an interesting movie-going experience. I've never sat down in a movie theater hoping the film I'm about to see will be bad, but this will definitely be the one time I do and I'm anticipating the results.

I can think of a few crazy posters who love their own ideas and may just be crazy enough to come up with this...
