The "Keep Hope Alive" (that the rights can revert back to Marvel) thread - Part 9

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't it possible for good actors to be in bad films?
DeNiro was in a couple of Fockers movies, Michael Cain in the worst Jaws sequel, Larry Fishburne in Man Of Steel, so yes, it is absolutely possible

Ninja Turtles did a massive reshoot and replaced William Fichtner Shredder with an actual Japanese Shredder. Maybe this reshoot will replace Domashev with an actual Latverian Doom. :o

The movie is going in for re-shoots according to Bleeding Cool and Devin Faraci who have sources that say the film is a mess.

Would also like to point out this movie still doesn't have an officially announced title.

Devin Faraci's actually claiming this was a planned reshoot, that there's no way the film won't get a sequel, and that fans that are against the film need to find somebody that will love them someday.

Devin Faraci should probably look for some extra part time work if he needs PR money that much.

The reason he's saying that is because he's friends with Trank.

That much has been obvious for some time. I'm really hoping that he ends up with egg on his face with this one. We're well beyond the point where shoddy Marvel adaptations should be rewarded.

Michael Cain in the worst Jaws sequel

Isn't that the one where they travel by plane and the shark manages to follow them? Hehe I'm sure I remember reading that Cain admits that he only did that film because it was being filmed in a nice location.

Slashfilm is reporting the re-shoots will last at least a month. The crew is contracted to be in Baton Rouge an additional three months.

People better protect their houses. Three months of Trank carnage!!

For what it's worth, apparently Matthew Vaughn saw the film and said it was good. But it sounds like the film is indeed a mess, and maybe Vaughn was just trying to help out Trank by promoting it

“I have never seen it, but by all accounts it is terrible. However, I have seen the house that it built, and it is terrific.” -Michael Caine about Jaws: The Revenge

Eh Maybe says the additional shooting is simply pickups and there is no drama to it.

I wouldn't call at least a month of reshoots to be pickups. The original filming took less than three months.

Sounds like a major reshoot. Will this delay the release of the film at all? Or is it still going to come out in August as planned?

WWZ went back to re-shoot it's entire 3rd act. That movie didn't turn out to be a train wreck :D... pretty entertaining.

Mayimbe has admitted before that his sources at Fox aren't very good, at least not like the one's he has at DC and Marvel.

There is nothing wrong with the promotion when you look at it timewise.

Avengers: AOU first poster and trailer came out in when? October or

AoU's promotion didn't just start with the first poster and trailer. They had their first teaser and the movie title 2 years out. An entire cast panel and footage from the film (which was used in the first trailer) a year out.

Hell, BvS had more to offer than FF as far back as 2 years ago and they don't come out until next year.

If the reshoot adds the Marvel Zombies I'm sure they'll manage to pull in some of that WWZ audience. Hell, I might go just to root for the zombies.

:hehe:

"Our hotel withstood The Who, The Rolling Stones and The Doors in their heyday--but we weren't prepared for Josh Trank!"

They'll need to invent a new type of home insurance after Trank. Building insurance? Check. Contents insurance? Check. Trank insurance? Nope.

Lock up your medicine cabinet's and guard you're homes, Trank's coming to town!

You better watch out
He's gonna get high
Batton's in doubt
I'm telling you why
Fanta-Trank is coming to town

He's making a film
He's shooting it twice
Gonna find out who's telling us lies.
Fanta-Trank is coming to town

Who knows if it's a sleeper?
It could be make or break.
Who knows if it is bad or good
Cause there's zip for goodness sake!

O You better watch out
He's gonna get high
Batton's in doubt
I'm telling you why
Fanta-Trank is coming to town

They also hired new writers to rewrite the third act, and the reshoots caused the budget to increase significantly, which isn't good for a penny-pinching production like FF's.
