The Dark Knight The Man Who Laughs: The Joker Thread 2.0

Does anyone know what kind of make-up they used on Heath?
I mean, was it something they made themselves?

Lookey,Larger Promo Pic

UGH, really bad masking job...

Masking Job? That doesnt even look like heath i mean the rest of the joker pics.

Yeah, I wonder why JOKER looks HAPPY? What's the deal with that CLOWN?

I'm Guessing Because it's to be used for,Merchandise and Ads catering to the kiddies.......

Is there a specific reason why we need to have the Joker in the third movie?
Well, if Nolan's movies are about the "rise of the freaks", would it really make sense to have the biggest freak of them all simply kicked out of the picture?

Also, how can it be the "rise of the freaks" with only two real freaks in Gotham (Dent and Scarecrow)?

well the wy i see it, they can either..

1. recast joker-but judging by the amazing sequences we've seen form heath already, alot of people may get upset about that.

2. bring in another villain like mr. freeze,or bane

3. give small hints to joker throughout the movie

Eh, I don't think they'll do anything above. I think they'll just focus on Two-Face as the main baddie, and I think that is best thing to happen.

Is there any word on whether Joker venom will be in TDK? I hope it is since he has had it since Batman #1.

.........And I know many ppl have stated they would enjoy a depiction of Penguin by Phillip Seymour Hoffman, but I would perfer BOB HOSKINS!!!

And a younger version of Christopher Lloyd would have been a good Riddler.........

I hope so too........
He has no flower though :(

Thank God for that. Next you'll be wanting that damn string tie that artists insist on giving him. If he's missing anything it's the plaid trousers from Batman 89.

Alright, my reasoning for not wanting Catwoman in the third Batman is actually quite simple.

Batman Begins - The birth of Batman, the mob is running Gotham, Batman comes to clean Gotham up, takes out one crime boss, Arkham is set lose, some are captured and put back. Introduced to the Joker.

The Dark Knight - Batman now has a leash on the mob, they can't do anything, they are by no means out of the picture though, they are still in Gotham. (I don't know why someone said they were all gone a couple pages back). And I'm pretty sure they run some things. The Joker is introduced and "helps" the mob with Batman. And according to the trailers, the Joker gives Batman quite the run for his money. D.A. Harvey Dent is also rooting out the organized crime in Gotham, but is changed into Two Face, thus everything basically falls apart, and we don't know what happens to Rachel Dawes, but I'm pretty sure most of us know her fate.

So when all this happens, with the Joker destorying Gotham and causing Batman quite the headache, with the fates of Harvey Dent and Rachel Dawes, the two frontrunners of stopping organized crime in Gotham, I'm pretty sure the mob will become powerful once again, maybe not to their all powerful self, but maybe they regain some power.

Now....some of you guys on here want Catwoman to become the side-by-side villain along with Two-Face for the third movie....now think about that for second please. Catwoman? Two-Face? And all the things that have happened in Begins and TDK....and for a third movie we are blessed with Catwoman's presence? Now come on people! Let's play it smart here.

You can't just put Catwoman in there, especially when you know what happens in TDK.

You don't really explain WHY Catwoman does not work vis-a-vis Two Face. In fact, there's no reason to believe it would not work. You're looking backwards, as if Burton's Catwoman would show up. This would be a whole new animal, and you don't know what role she would play in advancing the plot, or what relation she would have to Batman, Two Face, et al.

Keep in mind also that Catwoman's first appearance would probably be a 'making of' Catwoman, just as this movie involves a 'making of' Two Face. You could not really say the antagonists are Joker and Two Face in TDK. It's more like Joker, with a sideorder of Scarecrow, a smattering of lesser thugs, and a Two Face cameo. The next film could feature a Catwoman cameo.

Bob Hoskins would be an interesting Penguin. I'd make him a side villain though.

Great question. I have been wondering the same thing. And, what do they use on his lips. Is it lipstick, or makeup of some kind? great question OP. :woot:

I think Brendan Gleeson would make a better Penguin than Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Bob Hoskins.

He's also a great choice, almost forgot about him!

I hate to ask this, really I do because I dont anyone to ***** me out lol....
But was Oswald Cobblepot The Penguin's real name or did Burton make that up?

I ask because I think it would be interesting if Nolan included Oswald Cobblepot into the 3rd film as opposed to "The Penguin", lol.......

Those trousers were horrible.
That's what his socks are for lol ;)

Yes, that's his real name. Penguin is something of a childhood name given to him by the bullies that made fun of his oddly features.
