The Dark Knight The Man Who Laughs: The Joker Thread 2.0

i think "the batman" is a disgrace to the batman universe. dont get me started on the Joker in that shoddy series. i caught a episode the other day where he was turned into some Hulk or Bane type thing, it was the stupidest fooking thing i have ever seen. the whole purpose of that show is to make little kids think "WOW!!" and beg their parents to buy them the toys.
I'm sorry, but are you five? The Batman is not a disgrace to Batman. You may not like it, but it's not a disgrace.

The way it raped so many characters, many fans think it is.

Am i five? :hehe::hehe: That programme is clearly made for stupid kids who will watch it and go...."oh mummy daddy will you buy me a toy of the giant hulk-like joker?!!?"
it IS a disgrace to the Batman mythos, the people who created it obviously either don't give a toss about Batman or don't have a scooby about Batman

So changing is raping? It's obvious they had to "lighten" it up because it was on Cartoon Network but it was no worse than The New Animated Series and apparently people still love it.

If you want to bash on "changing", go talk crap to the Nolan Fanboys.

This further proves you're 5 years old. I can't even stand to read your post without shaking my head.

I said absolutely nothing about change being bad. Alterations or not, that entire show was just full of s**t writing.

sorry dark globe , but i'm gonna have to agree with crook and ace of knaves . i did like the batman vs . dracula though .

how does it prove i'm 5 years old? :hehe::hehe: i think it proves that you have the mind of a 5 year old if you wish to defend the debacle that is "the batman"
did you see the episode where Joker quits being a criminal and goes around Gotham dressed as Batman? how can you defend this?

Because you type like a 5 year old. Jesus Christ, it's hard to take someone seriously when they type like a little kid and have stupid explanations.

You do realize The Joker is insane, right? There have been more ridiculous things done in the comics, yet no one complains.

hahaha you having ago at me because of the way i type? well soooorrryy i'm not using propper gramma and sentance structuring. you are a joker mate, and not in the good sense.
yea i realize the Joker is insane, it still doesn't give the writers a excuse to come up with a crap idea such as that. it's just a shallow attempt at using their imagination, its to sell toys. "ohh mummy can you buy me the Joker in the Bat-suit, or the Joker that is a copy of the hulk?"
hahahahahahahhooohahahahaheheha

The network it's on has nothing to do with it. Justice League and Justice League Unlimited were both made on that same network and both had top notch writing and dealt with mature themes, while still being accessible to kids. And the same could be said for the New Animated Series. Arguably, it might not have been as good as the first three seasons of Batman: TAS, but it still stayed true to the Batman mythos. This is something The Batman has never done or even tried to do, from what I've seen of it.

If they were to do a live action Batman TV series who would you want to play The Joker? In terms of animation and video games I do not believe that it's possible to better Hamill (I really think it can't be done) but imagine a live action TV show. Things could be different. Darker, more faithful to the comics. It's always something I've wanted to see.
Perhaps a show based on Gotham Central.

Couldn't they do what they did with birds of prey? Have someone physically portray the joker then have hamill do a bit darker version of his animated joker voice?

That would really not work at all. I think they should go down the Ledger route, an actor running with the character and embellishing it with their own touches. If you divide between the physical being and the voice the whole thing will be diluted.

the why so serious scene.

You may be right, but I watched an interview with Eric Roberts discussing Heath's performance, the tragedy of his death, etc. and he mentioned Heath asking the crew to stay late and personally thanked everyone afterwards and that was for the mob scene.

Just thought I'd give you a heads up.

I only recall that Eric Roberts complimented Heath in between takes, and Heath was very grateful and thanked him for that.

I don't think anyone's mentioned the staying late bit except for Nolan, and he mentioned it was a "complex scene" with "another actor" that was scheduled over 2 days. That makes me think it was the interrogation scene with Christian, since they moved the camera around A LOT, so it seems like something that would take 2 days to film due to the set-up time for each shot. You don't take 2 days to shoot something only has 2 angles in it, which is what the Why So Serious scene with Gambol basically was. Most of what filming is is set-up time, not the actor trying to find his center.

I agree. But i do remember somebody saying that they stayed late because heath felt like he was onto something and didn't want to lose it by stopping filming then starting again the day after or whatever :yay:

He was right though. He definitely was onto something. Something epic :oldrazz:

Okay, I could have sworn it was Eric, but I could be wrong. However, I do believe that it was the mob scene where Heath asked everyone to stay and then thanked everyone afterward because he was onto something.

ahhhh i see. well that scene probs had multiple takes then aswell. i dunno if anyone noticed but the way he says "kill the batman" is different in the trailer, and "so.....where do we begin?" was completely cut.

I'm getting seriously annoyed with these 'imitations' of Heath's Joker. I've watched a few, and honestly its cringe-worthy and somewhat ruining the character and Heath's brilliant portrayal.

yea it makes me feel sorta embarrased for them, even if they are good it makes me cringe.

See this is why Hamill Joker is still and probably will always be The Ace in my books

Surprisingly my FAVORITE scene with the Joker was that short 15 second bit where his head is half way out the cop car and he just letting his hair blown in the wind and enjoying the moment. I really really like that scene for some reason and I think by making it silent with no sound whatsoever was really effective and cool

ROTJ is where I think its Hammil at his best

both Return of the Jedi and Joker

he was like a dog out the window.

I have found dogs are a subtle theme in this movie.
