Eh... I wouldn't say it's irrelevant. I get the basics of what you mean. A grown assed man looking to hook up with a 13 year old is bad whether that dude is a janitor or a CEO. And yet, there's an extra creep factor I think if say, that dude is also a camp counselor or a teacher or like this guy, working on a show that happens to feature, you guessed it, teenagers.

I mean this is the cast of the show:

And this is the synopsis of what the show is about.

Andi Mack is an American family comedy-drama television series created by Terri Minsky that premiered on Disney Channel on April 7, 2017. The series stars Peyton Elizabeth Lee, Joshua Rush, Sofia Wylie, Asher Angel, Lilan Bowden, Lauren Tom, and Trent Garrett. It follows 13-year-old Andi Mack and her best friends, Cyrus Goodman and Buffy Driscoll, as they attend middle school.


In the context of his actions... Yeah it's an extra creepy cherry on top in my view.
 
That money should go to an anti-sexual harassment cause of some sort.
 
What a world when getting fired for being a creep and NOT getting a multi-million dollar payout is a surprise.
 
That sounds bad enough to cancel the show. They probably won't but they should.

Apparently the director knew something was up with Rush:

In his letter to the editor, Ellen also defended Neil Armfield, who he has worked with and who directed both productions; Armfield didn’t provide comment to the ABC, but told the New York Times that in 2011 he had been “aware that Yael had felt some discomfort in sharing the dressing room with Geoffrey”. Guardian Australia has approached Armfield for comment.

What is amazing is to hear the defenses and victim blaming. He was in character so it doesn't really count, or how could she possibly feel like this could hurt her career if she came forward and accused him in 2011, or even he was just being silly and she should have told him to stop. At least Hollywood knows how to try and cover this up in public. Apparently in Australia, they haven't learned to try yet.

Weatherly has been a jerk to people in the past so it doesn't surprise me.

Weatherly had a slightly unhealthy creepy controlling relationship with Jessica Alba during their show Dark Angel. She was 19 and he was 30 when they began dating. They were engaged for a bit as well. Alba has talked about how it was a negative time in her life. Alba was hospitalized for stress due to the intense training she was required to go through for the show. She developed an eating disorder while she was dating Weatherly and suffered from depression.

Weatherly began trying to exert increasing control on Alba in the second season. He pressured her to use her pull as the series star to alter storylines to make him the hero over Jensen Ackles, who was a fan favorite and was going to be developed as another love interest for Alba. Weatherly was insecure and low key tried to get Jensen Ackles fired.

Ackles never said anything about it, but the crew and writers spoke up about it.

"The former Neighbours actor Cliff Ellen dismissed Stone’s allegations against Rush, writing a letter to the editor in Wednesday’s the Age saying: “No offence to the ladies but, in my experience, they are dreaming."

Whoever Cliff Ellen is, I hate him. Who says stupid **** like this? Holding a mirror over someone to watch them shower is never acceptable, funny, "silly", or "in character." It's ****ing creepy.

I never watched Dark Angel and only knew of Weatherly from NCIS and Ackles from Supernatural so all of this was news to me.
 
It is embarrassing how many men try to defend such behavior as if it is somehow acceptable, because so many men are *******s. It was just "frat" behavior. It is amazing how they justify the behavior of 40 something year old men, by invoking awful behavior from barely adult men. "Boys being Boys" is not an excuse for being a complete piece of **** to women. Unless of course you think that is what males just do in general in which case... WTF?
