The Multiversers: Unlimited RPG Sign Up thread

Torchwood, I'm sorry but the Chosen are all full up, and MRC's need to be relevant to the Universe in which the mission will take place in.

In this case, it's a pre-Wayne Murder Gotham City. Characters like young Bruce Wayne, Thomas and Martha Wayne, Joe Chill, Officer Gordon, Green Lantern (Alan Scott, who was Gotham's first superhero), and many others are available to play.

You have a good handle on role-playing, and the Doctor fits into this theme very well (though I'm not sure of his validity here anyway, as I don't know if he's been in any comics). I'd like to see you join up, but unfortunatley at this time, you are not accepted.

That's fine. Hopefully I can get the character into some other storyline or game. As far as the validity goes, The 4th Doctor specifically had comic stories in Doctor Who Magazine, which were later reproduced in Marvel Premiere and then later into his own monthly from Marvel in the US. Today, DWM still produces comics with the current incarnation.

Honestly, I think the Doctor would fit great into a first mission, sort of a mentor-type role for the Chosen. I mean, after all, none of the people in the main six are that accustomed to universe-hopping yet, and the Doctor does that sort of thing on a regular basis. So more than anything, he could be vital in getting the group their bearings, as well as maybe pop up every now and then as a sort of Deus-ex-machina character.

Actually, Midnighter has some experience with dimension hopping. The Carrier exists in multiple dimensions at once, and can traverse them with ease. In fact, Midnighter's plan to defeat the rogue doctor was to evacuate every person on the planet to a parallel universe, leaving the entire planet unihabited, and then summoning thousands of superhumans from other universes to help fight.

...I concur.

If only someone could Manip these pics.

as the missions get more diverse, I think it would be really awesome to branch out in the Star Wars U. It'd be really cool to see Batman with a lightsaber and Superman flying next to an X-Wing.

Or better yet: Midnighter taking on a small group of Dark Jedi.

How about Sonic slicing through wave after wave of droids?

Actually, I was knocking around the idea of the next mission being a Star Wars one (and MB and I had decided to do at least one anyway), and it'll begin to tie all the missions into one big story.

I was actually thinking that this type of game would work best as a large multiplayer arc, or rather, a campaign, like in Dungeons and Dragons, where there are numerous adventures (missions) and they're all independent, but there's also a common thread for all of them. I've got a great idea in mind, and I think it'll work.

Another idea is that this, unlike the other RPGs here on the forums, will be a finite game, and will eventually end when the overall arc is over.

But, this is all hypothetical, I want to run this past my fellow GMs before making anything official. I just thought it'd be good to let you guys know what's going on.

BTW, the game thread will be up on Wednesday, as I have a day off to dedicate to "opening day".

Perhaps there could even be versions of the superheroes that could be apart of the rebellion against the Empire.

Like a Batman whose parents were assassinated by Boba Fett, because they were members of the Senate that began investigating Palpetine. He'd train with various jedis throughout the galaxy to hone his skills within the force.

Or Superman, who's planet of Krypton was destroyed by The Death Star, and raised on Tattoie.

Spider-Man could be more mutagenic than his 616 counterpart, resembling and having the abilities of an actual human sized spider, but having the brain of a human.

They could make interesting MRC's, if we went that route, along with the characters of the Star Wars universe.

Wonder Woman in the gold bikini.........................................................

So are all of the universes we're heading for going to be strictly 'Elseworlds'-type places, or will any of them take place in the mainstream DC/Marvel/etc. continuities? I'd love for Sonic to get his hands on a GL ring somewhere down the road.

Well, the Chosen's jobs are to fix any ramifications in time and universes that they're sent to. Like something happening that's not supposed to happen within the universe's history, or something that needs to happen to put it back on track. So I don't think any of them will be 'normal', per se.

Their pretty much the clean up crew, something's wrong, they fix it, done over and out. Sorta like Quantam Leap. Except without Al....God we need an Al

Ah. So we're pretty much jumping back and forth between different versions of 'The Nail,' you might say. I'm cool with that.

So, what do people think of the new (slightly) altered Premise on the first post?

Sounds pretty cool. Plus, Reed Richards calling everyone together gives a nice balance, since none of the Chosen are Marvel characters. Though I did notice that the RPG rules now say there's a Chosen Five instead of Six. Does that mean one of us is getting bumped off?

Might be interesting if we did a Star Wars thing where the mission is to kill Darth Sidious, but insure that the empire remains intact and Vader rises to power, since that's what would be best overal for everyone.

Also, I had a thought. Instead of having Cronus, why not have The Doctor from Dr. Who be the guy calling the shots?

EDIT: Oh, I see it's Reed Richards now. Still, I think The Doctor would be cool.

Typo. I'll fix it. It's probably because I copied and pasted the other threads rules, and decided to add a Chosen.

Interesting idea. I was thinking that Reed could use some assistants, maybe the Doctor could be one of them.

Would be cool to bring the Doctor in as one of Richards' assistants.(and not just b/c Torchwood is one of my real-life buddies) Also, since we're talking about parallel universes being destroyed, this sort of game would be right up Pariah's alley.

You know what character I'd love to see in this RPG? A young Yoda. Think about it. If Yoda was as powerful as he was when old, frail, sickly, and dying, then imagine how powerful he must have been in his prime.

I wouldn't mind if I played more of a support character (i.e. an assistant to Reed Richards). I wouldn't personally mind if The Doctor got more involved later on, but that's really up to the admins.

In any case, if you decide to use me for the game, I'll be ready for it.

How would setting up a brutal totalitarian regime that led to the extermination of the Jedi Knights and the destruction of an entire planet be "best overall for everyone?" Just askin.' Though a mission of that same sort of premise would be interesting character-wise, especially since Sonic spent most of his life fighting an evil empire of his own.
