Ant-Man The Official Ant-Man News and Speculation Thread - Part 9

Very happy it's getting a sequel. I know they will investigate the quantum realm but i don't know too much about it. What sort of adventures are they likely to have? Also where does this leave the other characters?

If they had the rights they could of used Psycho-Man as the villain and explore the quantum realm (Mircoverse).

Sadly the rights to the character are tied to the Fantastic Four at Fox I think

Also at all the people who constantly condemn marvel for lack of female hero leads. As title stands right now she's co headlining the film.
Hope the sequel feels like Mission impossible movie.

I've been taking a break from the forums but I HAD to post after reading that. OMG yes x 10000000000.

I approve.

But many SHH posters said this movie wasn't successful enough to get a sequel! My world is falling apart!

Nah, this time they'll whine because she didn't get top billing.

Whatever. This is awesome news.

Captain Marvel is in march 2019 now, they will be salty about that.

Actually kinda want to see more of Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne in the 60's but guess this makes more sense chronologically and for Phase 3.

Peyton Reed is eager to show more old school Hank and Janet so I think we might get a scene. Hopefully it won't end up getting cut like the prologue scene did in Ant-Man

I'm not surprised. When they have talked about Captain Marvel as it sounds like they are still trying to figure out the character.

^Funny how the character that's "hardest to figure out" is her, hmm. Not all the male ones, so yes I will be "salty" about it. Also, Hope better hope that her daddy doesn't decide to get generic overprotective again, because otherwise she'll fine herself sidelined, again.

Great news about an Ant-Man sequel, hopefully it doesn't exclude Ant-Man & Wasp from appearing in Infinity Wars. Rudd & Lilly would have to shoot both movies back to back if they were included or they may just wait & have them in Infinity Wars part 2.

They were going to end up either racist or misogynist depending on what they moved. There's no winning against those determined to be offended.

And Black Panther was moved up to Black History month. :o

The film's co-writer Nicole Perlman is the one who said they are finding it complicated.

“We’ve been talking a lot about archetypes and what we want this movie to be about and just how to write a strong female superhero without making it Superman with boobs. … Meg and I are doing a lot of brainstorming and we’ll catch ourselves and say, ‘Wait a minute, what are we saying [here] about women in power?’ Then we have to say, ‘Why are we getting so hung up on that? We should just tell the best story and build the best character.’ And then we have this constant back-and-forth about how to tell a story that is compelling, entertaining, moving, kick-ass, and fun, and also be aware of what those larger implications might be. It’s a lot more complicated than just writing Guardians.”

They better be happy they didn't movie it to a post-Infinity War Part 2 slot.

That would've been the death nail in any hopes that she would appear in those films.

Captain Marvel will get alot of attention and focus being sandwiched between Infinity War 1 and Infinity War 2.

Her role will also likely be central to the storyline.

Very excited by this news, really hope Reed and Douglas come back as they were a big part of why I loved the first movie so much.

HOLY ****!! I loved Ant-Man! I''m so fricking excited! :woo :woot:

Sucks Cap Marvel, though. :csad:

Great news! I'm dancing a victory dance right now. So, the movie flopped, huh?
