Except that Hathaway's costume looks pretty much exactly like the comics costume.

You really can't blame them for being accurate. :o

The body is fine. I'm talking about the headpiece- it's nothing but a pair of bad looking goggles. Looks like Catwoman from the Adam West show minus the glitter.

I'm the type of person who always wants the next film to outdo the last. Here I was so excited about Hathaway's Catwoman until we saw what she looked like. Now the character may be great, but I'm nothing less than disappointed over her terrible costume. Michelle Pfeifer's costume on the other hand was perfect.

While I think the same as you I remember I (and many here) was dissapointed at how Ledger's Joker looked in the first pictures. First I saw an average white face with some ketchup around his mouth. Then I saw someone trying to imitate the Crow and then I saw a Bettlejuice wannabe. But it worked.

The Adam West show's costume was awesome, though. :o

This is very true. I had similar feelings with Joker's first look too.

And don't even get us started on the perma-white:wow:

Tim and Michelle are back 20 years later...

Awesome poster comparison, too bad Dark Shadows looks terrible.

The comics suit especially Jim Lee's had more style. Hathaway's costume looks like something taken out of her closet. And the ears look cheap. Yeah nobody's going to recognise you with that on Selina. It's something you would see some girl wearing at a comic convention without the new film being an inspiration. Funny how Michelle's costume was some leather outfit in her closet that was turned into something more "theatrical" eventhough it was homemade. But I wouldn't be able to tell that while looking at it. While Hathaway's looks like something homemade and came right out her closet, but it probably didn't in the actual film. Still very much looking forward to Hathaway's performance and what she has to offer to the character.

Tim Burton's filmography from 1985 to 1999: GOAT.

For uk viewers, Danny DeVito is being interviewed tonight on the Jonathan Ross show at 22.20-23.20 on ITV. JR is a major cb/sh fan, so he will probably ask him about playing the Penguin, this will surely be uploaded to youtube at some point.

It just popped into my head yesterday, and I'm still kind of thinking about it......I know there were quite a few complaints for the film from parents groups, etc...but I had been thinking...I never found Penguin scary, I don't recall how it popped into my head but it did...I never found Penguin scary...Jack's Joker scared me, but Penguin never did, as a kid was my favorite comic film villain (actually a tie with Catwoman), which back then was between the Bat-villains and the TMNT villains, for me anyways...

This is probably the film of my childhood, saw it in theaters, watched the VHS repeatedly throughout the 90s (it was finally ruined when trying to watch it back in 2005-06)...The film is just a tragic, fairy tale...

...I'm going to try to go through my DC library of films soon...

The Joker scared you?

I first saw B89 when I was two or three, and he didn't scare me at all.

I really don't think his quality has dropped that much since 1999. He's made some mediocre movies, but Big Fish, Sweeney Todd, and CATCF were all very good. I probably prefer them all over Beetlejuice and PeeWee.

60 seconds with Michelle Pfeiffer:

@1:15... she never kept her Catwoman costumes. :woot:

Pfeiffer looks incredible. She is the perfect example of why women shouldn't pump all that botox crap into their faces or resort to face lifts when they hit 40-plus. She's smart, sexy and full of class. Female beauty personified.

I bet her husband was disappointed about that. I know if I was I'd be. Bet she'd still look good in that catsuit. This woman keeps looking better and better with age, imo.

What does that mean? What's GOAT?

Greatest Of All Time!

Yeah, I know, I don't get it either...

...Michelle looks incredible in that video...

I love Michelle, long live the best Catwoman that ever lived.

She's flawless. :hrt:

I watched Danny DeVito on The Jonathan Ross Show over the weekend, but there was no mention of The Penguin or Batman Returns in general. But then again Ross isn't a big DC fan.

Danny was sitting eating fish and chips backstage for most of the show and even got some for Simon Cowell. :woot:

Joker nor Penguin ever scared me... but there's definitely a real creepy vibe to the Penguin. To be honest, as great as Jack was...he always felt like a movie villain. I never felt any menace or dread from him. Devito's Penguin felt like a real nightmare-inducing creeper.
