I love that, shocked she's still alive and in so much pain she's half-regretting she is.

Should Catwoman have been more grateful or acknowledging of that Batman saved Selina's life? Admit that Batman is a good guy in the city? I love the film and characters but that not being the case is an example of how Batman isn't focused on much in the film.

Although I guess her telling another woman to not rely on Batman does convey she also resented Selina for being too weak.

I don't see why. Catwoman is in the grey area, and I don't think her acknowledging Batman's heroism would have added anything to the movie.

I also disagree with the notion that Batman isn't the star of the movie. He is. And he's dealing with two different mirror pieces of what HE could be.

Absolutely. I hear it said a lot that he isn't the star but the movie has never struck me that way. It's my second favourite Batman movie, topped (only just) by The Dark Knight. I love it.

I always found Bruce Wayne/Batman's arc to be beautifully fleshed out and loved the melancholy of his final scenes, as he hopes to find Selina in the alley.

I love Danny DeVito's Penguin. His image is perfect as the monster that wants to be a gentleman.

I love Danny DeVito's Penguin. His image is perfect as the monster that wants to be a gentleman.

I love that flipsided duality, that Penguin is a monster who wants to be seen as a gentleman, whilst Bruce Wayne is a gentleman who does his best to be seen (by some) as a monster.

And Catwoman is caught between both of those sides, confused about which side she's on and whether or not she really wants to be a monster or a woman, and ultimately decides to "die" and find out for herself by living a new life... alone and away from either one of them.

Yeah the Returns suit is such an improvement over the 89 suit.

Eh I prefer the 89 suit in all honesty. Though I will admit that Returns boasts the greatest of any cowl ever put to film.

When the first publicity pics for Returns hit I really didn't like the new suit. I thought the sculpted muscles of the first one looked really cool, and a live-action armoured suit wasn't something we'd seen before. But that changed as soon as I'd seen the movie. Been the same ever since. I guess that's why I liked the Begins suit so much. It reminded me of the Returns suit that I loved, yet had enough different going on to be its own thing.
