It's funny..I just had a thought of the Wachowskis and McTeigue kinda made me excited. Maybe just for the reasons that another Superman is in the works..
i picked johns and morrison because recently they've had a better grasp on the character than any of the other writers in the industry. the sheer fact that film writers have been trying, and failing, to get a good superman story on screen since superman II calls for a different approach. jj abrams is a really good writer, and could do it justice if he didn't try to reimagine too much. sadly since his first attempt reimagined everything i doubt he'll get another crack at it.
I would love to see what they could do with Metropolis.I'd be interested in seeing how the Wachowskis tackle Krypton. My hope is that it would be a drastic departure from the Donner films, with nary a crystal in sight. We've seen two rather interesting, totally different visions of a future city from them in the machine city from The Matrix (dark), and the city from Speed Racer (colorful). I know Kyrpton shouldn't be the focus of the movie, but it'd still be exciting to have something other than Donner's crystal ball to think of when we think about a live-action Krypton!

^From what I gather, whichever comic book writer is hired for this project, I'm guessing in this case Morrison, he would just be writing a story/outline for the film. Then it is getting passed on to a screenwriter. That's my understanding of the situation. So I'm not even sure how close Morrison would get to the director who then gets hired to film the script. I'm sure he will still be used as a consultant but again I'm not sure he would be THAT involved with the day to day operations of the film once the story/outline leaves his hands.
Plus, no matter how much Morrison may hate the Wachowskis, he is doing this first and foremost for WB. And this is an opportunity of a lifetime, to have a hand in writing a Superman film. I'm sure he would love the chance to see his name appear in the credits on the big screen as long as his story is kept intact and not butchered by the time it gets to filming, which I doubt since WB seems to be really conscious of syching up with DC now.
Brandon gonna come back im saying it right now.

Its true people really think viewers are morons. Every average joe in america has a computer and all their going to do is look it up.
Johns also worked in the film industry for many years.
^The script was never the problem with the "troubled" JLA project though. In fact, WB had a script they loved. It was Miller and his difficulties getting the tax break that was the big problem. I think the script was still in the process of being touched up by Miller himself but for all intents and purposes, WB was very much content with it. Why would they hire a comic book writer to work on a script they already like and were ready to shoot with?
Besides, Horn himself said a Justice League project is a ways off now, that their priority now is to establish these solo franchises first.
