He's got the looks... put on some weight and he'll be spot on... then again maybe Stryker was thin back in the day.

i thought, when watching the Proposition, that Danny Huston was a great actpor. when i watchedf Children of men, i didnt even realise it was him.
thats a sign of someone with real talent

Huston has been good in the few things i have seen him in, could be good casting.

But after seeing that Fox once again pulled their '90 minute' trick with Jumper, my confidence for this movie has gone down again.

Fox you are pathetic.

I can't believe some of you trashing these recent casting.

I guess some people just feel comfortable with BIG NAMES in a fiml, not that the main actors they so far have casted, are all great ACTORS.

The guy that plays Dexter isn't a big name and the chick cast as Silver Fox is totally unproven onscreen.

yeah....I have no problem with this guy as Stryker.... He knows how to play manipulative, yet cool at the same time...he will do just fine.

Lets face it Cox as Stryker was loathsome....just the way he needed to be protrayed as the main villain, a human who was more of a threat to both humans and mutants because of his hatred fro mutants but he had his moments

my favorite...first time he sees Wolverine.... and he says that he llook exactly the same as he did 20 some years ago... and then he points to his wrinkels around his eyes and says something like but... myself.."nature"

So this is what we have so far...

Hugh Jackman as Wolverine
Liev Schreiber as Sabretooth
Danny Huston as William Stryker
Bailey Chase as Gambit
Lynn Collins as Silver Fox
Kodi Smit-McPhee as young James Logan (Wolverine)
Tahyna Tozzi as ???
Christian Clark as ???

I like the cast so far. Then again, I only recognize the names Schreiber and Jackman.

Like Clark, Chase spilled the beans back in November when they were in pre-pro. He doesn't have to join the production until April though, when they head to New Orleans.

Ok, so Deadpool is definite and Gambit is up in the air ? Will Deadpool have his comic book look ?

I've heard various stuff on Gambit supposedly being in this movie, Wolverine trying to track down Creed and going to New Orleans, but what exactly was Gambit supposed to do in the film? Is he just a cameo in a bar or did he have some kind of purpose? I really don't want Remy in a Wolverine solo film, but meh what can you do.

Huston looks like Brian Cox's younger brother. Great casting, imo. The cast doesnt have a lot of known 'name' actors, but they've pulled in some good talent.

This is all but confirmed, but here's another write-up from Total Film:

Total Film said:
The last time we saw Danny Huston, he was running around a small, isolated town in Alaska devouring the natives for 30 Days Of Night. Now it looks like he’ll be menacing Hugh Jackman as he’s just signed up to play the younger William Stryker (as played by Brian Cox in X2). Stryker, of course, is the man who oversees the Weapon X programme, which is how Logan gets his Adamantium skeleton and famous claws.
IESB.net has confirmed the casting, and also lets slip another sliver of news: the role of Silver Fox, which was rumoured to be down to just Michelle Monaghan or Maggie Q, has in fact gone to relative newcomer Lynn Collins, seen in The Number 23 and Bug. She’ll be playing Logan’s tragic love interest who also hides a secret of her own.
Oh, and the IESB boys have also been tracking down word that Jackman’s talk of “other mutant cameos” looks to be coming to live in the form of massive mutant mangler The Blob. Apparently the huge, nearly indestructible lardo will be played practically with a bloke in a fat suit and then augmented with CGI.

The link doesn't work.
The link address must exceed the number of characters that you are allowed to link or else I'm just crap at this. But all the information in the article I have quoted above - as you can see, it's really just a summary of the casting details we've heard so far.

Octoberist, how can you say this is "hazy looking"?

Ian McKellen looks amazing, Stewart not that much but definetely younger. The scene was great and it was a cool unexpected surprise for being the beginning of the film.

Maybe it's just me but I always thought their eyes looked a bit beady and strange.

So did the rest of them . .

I only have The Proposition to base his acting on.With that alone I think he could pull this off:)
