Just replace her with Bella Thorne...that would make men happy :oldrazz:

Or maybe they could have just not used Ivy at all. I just don't see the point of shoving her character down our face, and making her effin' creepy and ominous as a kid, just so we get the gist that she'll eventually grow up to be a sociopath.

Thank you

Well the hardest time to see the point of a storyline is when it hasn't started yet.

But Ivy IS her original first name

Pratically everybody in life has middle names, don't they? :o
Is it not possible that her middle could be Pamela and she goes by that? Would make more sense and be easier on the tongue than "Ivy Isley".

Probably not important, but it's still a stupid name change. I blame the writers for that crap...all the juvie like ways of them ramming references to who these people are down your throat every five seconds.
That's what I'm saying. If she gets adopted by the Isley's she's not gonna change her first name to PAmela. So she'll have the name Ivy Isley which is just ridiculous

It's better than the original name they were gonna give The Riddler, "Puzzle Mystery"

Kids who get adopted DO NOT change their first name, maybe if they are babies but certainly not kids around 10 that have been called their original name their whole life

So you're saying that there's definitely never been a child age 10 or older who had their entire name changed upon being adopted ever?

Maybe Ivy is a name she calls herself? Plenty of kids give themselves nicknames like that. Perhaps Ivy is her middle name? I have a friend who uses his middle name exclusively (outside of official documents) over his first name and has done so since he was a kid, simply because he hated his first name.

She's called Ivy, simply because the people in charge don't know the meaning of subtlety. Just like Selina already prowls rooftops, apparently drinks nothing but milk and plays with a necklace like a cat and even goes by the name Cat, we already know young Pamela as Ivy, watering a plant the first time we see her. I wouldn't be surprised if we find out next, that she sleeps in an abandoned greenhouse.

It always feels like someone is grabbing me by the neck, pressing my face at the TV screen and yelling in my ear "SEE THAT PERSON?! RIGHT THERE?! THAT'S GONNA BE A FUTURE BATMAN VILLAIN!"

While it is somewhat contrived that all of these people know each other (although that is nothing new in comics, just look at how many people Peter Parker knew that later gained powers), I have no issues with their personality.

For example, Edward Nygma wasn't a normal well-adjusted guy who suddenly woke up one day with an obsession with riddles. He acts how I would expect a pre-Riddler Nygma to act.

This is who these people are.

But that's not the case for everyone. I'm fine with Eddie having that compulsion to solve riddles, to seek attention, to be better than others. But not everyone has strange ticks and habits, that already define for years to come who they are. For some there's a trigger, others get corrupted, or develop disorders over the years.

I don't need to see a bunch of kids, and just because of their habits, already be able to tell "Ok, that one will grow up to be a sociopath, that one will be a master thief, that one's gonna be a serial killer, etc."

Can't wait until Bruce enrolls in a pottery class with his teacher being Mr. Karlo

You guys are so clever. :o

There are a lot more subtle, tactful ways to show that though. Ones that leave room for an arc where that character becomes the villain rather than basically already being it. We don't need to see Nygma drinking from a cup with a question mark on it, is what I'm saying.

I don't really think they're shoving them down our throats THAT much. Richard Sionis and Tommy Elliot being on there a couple weeks ago were great nods. I can't remember if they actually mentioned Roman or not and his exact relationship to Richard if it was supposed to be his pops or an uncle or what. I think Roman could be a really cool character to bring in at some point, taking over the business and whatnot. I'd also like to see more stuff between Tommy and Bruce personally plus the events that take place during Tommy's childhood would be cool to see on screen. I'm digging this show. It's hitting it's stride it just needs to start connecting more things instead of so many case of the week episodes which was a big fear of mine going in anyways with it being on Fox. I'm still digging it more than Constantine, that's for sure. That show just is not sitting well with me for some reason so far.

Rumor is that Ivy Pepper is the adopted name or nickname of Pamela Isely. I don't see the issue. Let's see what her past entails, then judge.
