Gotham The Official Gotham News and discussion thread - Part 3

A few days ago several sites reported the news about Bruce and Selina's relationship will be "taken to the new level" and predictably in the comment section there were a bunch of people claiming "Bruce is, like, twelve". No, I don't make it up, there're actually people out there still thinking Bruce is 12, so that's why they think they can spout the word "pre-teen" everywhere, and seriously this is the criticism that I hate the most.

I think it comes from people misinterpreting what "next level" means :p
On a lot of adult sitcoms in the 90s that meant going from dating to sleeping together which would be too much for Bruce and Selina but in this case I thin it means from kids who sort of like each other to kids who admit they like each other and go on high school dates.

In Victorian Dreamland, teenagers don't kiss, they don't make out and they never ever sleep with each other.

In real life, meanwhile, they do all three things.

I liked Heroes Will Fall better. Maybe that'll be the midseason subtitle.

I prefer "Mad City." Direct and to the point. "Heroes Will Fall" is a lot like the "Rise of the" - "Wrath of the" and I thought those subseason titles felt rather uninspiring, even if I think it's cool they bother to make them. Also, "Rise", "Wrath", eh, it looked kind of the same to me?

Generally I'm more for the simplistic titles. If I could wish upon a star for a subtitle for early season four, it would be "Gotham: Robin".

But even if they misinterpret like "Bruce is 15 he can't have under-age sex" it's still better than "Bruce is 12 and he can't have a girlfriend".

Anyway some old news

Gotham: Bruce's New "Playboy" Persona Isn't What You Think

Gotham executive producers made waves at the Television Critics Association fall previews last month when they announced that Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) would be turning into a "playboy" in Season 3.

Fans quickly took to social media to express their dismay and concern that Gotham's version of Bruce Wayne -- who is still in his mid-teens -- was too young for that kind of storyline. TVGuide.com talked with executive producer Ken Woodruff to discuss exactly what the "playboy" transition would look like...and it's not what you'd think.

"We wanted him to learn how to be a rich kid of Instagram, this sort of ne'er-do-well. We wanted him to learn how to put on that mask of what a lot of people in the public would expect him to be, which is just this rich kid who is privileged," Woodruff explained. "It's going to be Bruce Wayne acting out a little bit and doing what I would do if I had that much money -- going to parties, having fun, hanging out with a different element of kids."

The new attitude of Bruce is to help the young millionaire develop the tools and masks he'll need later on to carry on as Batman with no one figuring out his true identity.

Er... what kind of storyline people think of? I was pretty upset too, but it was because an EP said somewhere that Bruce was going to be a playboy for real, not just an act.

Looking forward to see Harvey kick some butt this season. Hopefully he has some episodes focused on him.

Here's a plot twist: Ivy Pepper goes into the lake for a swim as Clare Foley and comes out as Maggie Geha.

Won't ever like it. Hope I'll be able to overlook it. Let's just say one of my season 3 reviews will be brutal.

I think that's whats gonna end up happening based on those photos.

I knew it was Clayface the moment it happened.

That would make no sense. Clayface was apprehended at the GCPD headquarters. There would've been no way for him to get into that bus.

I call BS.

It's Clayface... he can pretty much clone himself or pretend to be a cop if he wanted to and get out.

He'd "clone himself" in order to escape from GCPD custody and run back to Arkham to get imprisoned in a bus?

David has held a fair number of interviews and he's not known to lie. Nothing he's said gels with the Clayface theory. "He's created for a very specific purpose." I'll believe it if I see it.

EDIT: This is the article. http://www.tvinsider.com/article/96725/gotham-6-burning-questions-for-season-3/

I'd chalk it up to confusion and poor wording.

plus, despite saying the bruce doopelganger is clayface, the article also says clayface only appears on the second part of the season, while we already know from promotional phtos the 2nd bruce appears already in the first episode

David has gone out of his way to say Bruce2 isn't "evil" to begin with and I would think a clayface wouldn't be so defended by him.

Plus the Clayface we saw needed a milky injection to his head and a wig to pull off being Jim Gordon. Unless it's another, upgraded Clayface I'm not buying it.

It'd fit as Batman mythos does have a weird sort of baptism motif going on with Joker's chemical swim and Ra's Lazarus pits.

Nice to see you're keeping an open mind and you promise to not let it color your judgment :whatever:

Yes and Clayface needed to practice his voice against the human subject i.e Gordon, so I don't think he would be able to talk like Bruce in that final scene.

Speaking of Gordon, I hope he pops into Les' house and find a baby. I can't stand them writing miscarriage, makes me harder to like Ed, because it's his fault.

We might see the rise of Ivy this season I guess?
