I think Hulk speaking will really go a long way to making him a major fan favorite and give him another dimension to his character that he doesn't have in the movies right now. If they don't utilize that in Avengers they really r missing a great opportunity with the character

Or better yet, if both of them are sent flying backwards (possibly crashing into a large vehicle or building).

I'd love to see each of them land a shot on the other at the same time that sends out a shockwave, see windows shatter, debris gets scattered, buildings crumble a bit, etc.

I've seen it done well in Thor's comic. If done well, I think it would look pretty awesome. Really show the power of the two.

It's pretty much common knowledge that they both have quite a few victories of each other, so one line from a comic doesn't change what has happened in their previous battles.

But he did it with a blow, it's not like he opened up a portal to another dimension.

He can't help it that's he's super strong, of course you're going to be sent flying if he hits you hard enough.

This would be awesome and I would really love to see this happen, except for the buildings crumbling part.

BFR = Battle Field Removal

(I only learned of it recently)

Basically, if you can't beat someone, you remove them from the battlefield either by teleporting or flying them away (ala drop them into the Sun, etc)

People disagree on whether or not it counts as a "win".

Unless it's some kind of tournament, you would assume that whatever abilties you have at your disposal are fair game.

I know this isn't gonna happen in the movie, but I just got a wicked idea of seeing an uber pissed Hulk (probably planet Hulk) basically walking "Fist of the North Star" style through a large city, basically taking down skyscrapers just walking through them like they r nothin. Man, that would look awesome!

True, but that's not defeating someone, it's delaying the end of the fight.

Or to put it another way, if Hulk kept repeatedly hitting Thor into orbit, and Thor kept flying back each time, does that count as a "win" for each BFR?

In a fight, it's a valid defense method, but hardly a good offensive one in terms of finishing a fight (unless you're Sentry and tossing people into the Sun).

If Nightcrawler teleported Superman to the moon, would Nightcrawler have beat Superman? Not really, because Superman isn't incapacitated and the fight can continue.

That's why opinions vary on BFR being considered a "win" by most people.

But that's another thread altogether and frankly a pointless one

That would be awesome, I would love to see a Planet Hulk film eventually.

I would say there are 3 ways to win a fight definitively.

1. The opponent is incapacitated ie, knocked out cold, no response to touch etc.
2. The opponent gives up or taps out or runs away due to fear or injury.
3. The opponent is dead.

I, personally don't think BFR should be considered "win".

If you achieved your objective in a fight, then you've won. In this case, BFR won't be a win, because I reckon both want to fight. Even if Thor realised or was convinced the challenge isn't worth the collateral damage and sent Hulk somewhere 'safe', not even Thor would consider it a win.

The rest of the general vicinity would though hahaha

Dude I never said his was strong as Hulk, but they're ALOT closer in strength than what's been shown in the media not to mention they STALEMATED each other in a grabbling contest that lasted an hour.

Hulks beat Thor several times in the comics just as Thor's beaten him several times in the comics, they're equals in my books.

Other than Hulk annual 2001, where there were two battles with each character winning one, i dont recall any other flat out victories for Thor OR Hulk in the mainstream Marvel 616 universe. (and by victory, i mean one character concious, and the other UNconcious) Although many of their fights usually portray Hulk having more than a decent edge, particularly in the following issues:

Oh man, if the Hulk is in it then they could do the whole sending him to Planet Hulk then he comes back and the Avengers have to take him out. Now that would be a worthy series of films!

Would anyone else love it if they revisited Dany Elfman's Hulk theme? I can't remember the last time I heard a piece of music that so enraptures a character as well as that did.

I hope the new trailer has more substantial hulk action shots. or even just a shot of him hanging out with the rest of the guys. I'd love to see what ILM can do with him. I also heard from an old article on voldemort.com that WETA is involved as well. Can anyone confirm this?
