I think you guys are looking at it from the wrong point of view. The cage thing follows what I like to think of as "comic book logic." It doesn't make much actual sense, but then again, neither does the helicarrier... but it is a cool bit of iconography. I think Joss figured -- "I know I have to have the helicarrier because it's essential to Marvel and to SHIELD, even though it doesn't make much sense, so if I'm going to have it, I should use it in every way I can think of... and therefore maybe the cage where they store Loki/Hulk can be dropped thousands of feet if need be." On that level, I think it works.

You could further break down the logic by asking why even create it for Banner unless Banner is forced to be in it the whole time? Was their plan to, if Banner started to get angry, quickly throw him in the cell?

ETA: What Oraku Saki says above does kind of make sense, though.

Sorry, I don't get it. He did put it in spoiler tags, didn't he?

He told me to put my comments in spoiler tags because it reveals something in the movie. I haven't even seen the movie yet. My comments were still speculation. So i'm guessing my speculation must have been accurate with something that was in the movie.

He accidently confirmed my speculation. Now i know something that i didn't want to know.

Damn it Marvel why couldn't the movie be released World Wide!! :argh:

Sorry about that. I first wrote my post to Anti Goku, who wrote something outside tags that we had already been tagging in the discussion, and then changed the wording when you managed to post before me. I thought you knew what you were talking about as you wrote your sentence as a statement of fact.

A shame since I've tagged everything even mildly spoilery (even when those I discuss with aren't doing it) since I've seen the film, and what I wrote was so people would avoid seeing spoilers.

Not using physics, just stating that if Hulk can take rounds from a jet without flinching why would a 125mph impact knock him out? His mass neutralization issue could be explained as his leg force pushing behind accounting for his punching force forward. I mean, he doesn't throw a punch standing square, that would just be weird.

Kind of like TIH when the two jeeps are blasting hulk with the sonic cannons or whatever they were and somehow he didn't fly back even though his feet weren't sinking into the ground. I found it funny as I was wondering how the hell he could stop himself from flying back as he didn't have the mass and I'm talking before using the two pieces of metal as a shield

And also after avengers of course my favorite scene with hulk in it is from 03 Take it all!!!!!!!!!!! Damn I love that scene especially the voice
But that pretty much comes down to physics and superheroes have a lot of thins that aren't physically correct.

Things like that a superhero can lift a car by holding it's bumper, he can avoid being thrown away by having his feet planted well on the ground, he can hit something without worrying about the counter force (especially heroes like Flash would crush themselves against whatever they hit in full speed), etc.

We have to shut these thoughts off in order to enjoy it fully. :)

From everything I've read in the comics for many years I believe that a true all-out Hulk (Savage/Worldbreaker) vs Thor (10x power/Warrior Madness etc) would end basically as basically Supes v. Doomsday. I much rather prefer then working together

QFT!!!

Hulk, Savage or not, is not Doomsday. Superman is not Thor. These guys are on a level higher than Thor or Hulk. Doomsday, the guy that killed Superman. Hulk doesn't pack the firepower to seriously hurt, let alone kill Superman. Thor does not have the durability of Superman. He isn't as strong. Nor as fast. Not a good comparison in my view.

Why isn't it good comparison? Hulk and Thor's strength, in relation to each other, seems very similar to how Superman and Doomsday's strength compare to one another.

Thor's fought in the core of the sun, survived a blast capable of destroying galaxies, and took a direct hit from 3 celestials without being KO'd...so yeah he's about as tough as Supes.

Oh and Hulk is just as tough as Thor so I don't see how Superman is on a "higher level" than those two.

Absolute BS!!!

Oh give me a break.

The people that created Doomsday owe Stan Lee and Jack Kirby a dinner, or at least a lunch!

If you don't think Doomsday isn't a blatant rip off of Hulk, then I have some internet stock I would to sell you.

;)

I agree that Superman and Doomsday both have a higher level of Durability. It's not like Hulk and Thor are severely below them.

Thor and Hulk are pretty powerful. I mean look Thor can throw Mjölnir at several times the speed of light. It has to travel that fast if it can make it to the edge of the Galaxy and back in 60 sec. If he can to that there has to be some power in those arms. :oldrazz: There not push overs.

No more blatant than this.

Anybody that thinks Doomsday isn't DC's Hulk is living in a fantasy land....truly if there were direct comparisons to be made between DC and Marvel characters the 2 closest would be: Superman/Thor (each have a vast powerset that are equals); Hulk/Doomsday (Both unstoppable/Feared by "ALL" heroes and villains alike). I have no doubt a true Hulk/Supes (not fan decided) battle would go down identically to Supes/Doomsday as would a Thor/Hulk and Doomsday/Thor battle.

I think that Hulk and Thor "like" to do battle with one another at this point. It's like a test of each's mettle when they meet.

But i'm still waiting on a Thor/Hulk team up run; especially after their interaction in Avengers!

I like the one JLU Episode, where Grundy gets resurrected by chaos magic and basically becomes Savage Hulk.

Nonetheless, fans inherently prefer certain superheroes over others. “It’s just like you would think — Iron Man and Captain America sell more than Thor,” says Gitter. However, The Hulk may soon surpass them all. Marvel executives have been “pleasantly surprised by the phenomenal response” to this green superhero, and expect this fan affinity to further strengthen once the movie opens. “His sales are up in a major way. We repositioned him from where he was always misunderstood to now depicting him in a more heroic and aspirational manner,” says Gitter.

If Hulk’s successful turnaround continues, Gitter says Marvel “will spin him off to a stand-alone program next year,” supported by a big budget franchise movie in 2015. The entertainment studio is also exploring ways to promote Hulk as a “corporate icon,” similar to MetLife’s usage of Peanuts’ Snoopy, where The Hulk’s image conveys a message about channeling strength to overcome workplace challenges.

Fantastic!!! Give Mark his Hulk film! He needs to be the first actor to play Banner/Hulk more than once!

Awesome!!

I hope the Marvel section at Disneyland and Disneyworld are like the Islands of Adventure marvel rides. could you Imagine an entire area (mini city) made to look like right out of Marvel Comics. They would probably recreate Asgard.
