And a perfect example (IMO) of this is in such issues as ASM issue 40. The Goblin takes off his mask and shows Peter he's really Norman Osborn. Then he goes on about Harry, tc. It gives Spdiey time to break out.

Like I said earlier, I think it's designed to bore the hero to death, or at least encourage suicide to escape the incessant babbling.

It's funny, that was something Raimi left out with Doc Ock's character. Ock is one of the most boastful villains Spidey has and yet he never really bragged to Spidey. He had some great witty one liners but I missed seeing Ock's over inflated ego and Spidey making fun of it.

That's because he saw the first movie, and chose not to repeat Norman's mistake.

It seems pretty clear to me that impalement was his preferred method of execution. Otherwise he could've just stayed on the glider and bombed Spidey to Kingdom Come. This was the way he wanted to do it, ultimately bringing him more satisfaction than the bombs and bullets.
Once again, well said.

I simply meant they're not all going to do it first and talk about it later.

Watchmen was awesome, as was Ozymandias. I have doubts that real-world equivalents of these villains would talk about it first and do it later.

He seemed content to simply bomb the board members. When it comes to needing someone dead, efficiency has to be taken into consideration. If impalement is a must, simply use the knockout gas, then impale him with the Trident.

"Make him suffer, make him wish he were dead, then grant his wish." The board members were business, as were his rivals at Quest. Spider-Man was personal.

I kind of would have liked Ock to be a little more boastful but I do think Raimi was trying to distance him from Goblin in that regard.

Nothing Spider-Man did would be any more personal than what the board members did. They fired him from the very company he created. Spider-Man tried to intervene...and failed completely.

Indeed, Doc Ock realized there's time for bragging and boasting after you succeed.

What if Doc Ock's nuclear fusion reactor actually worked the second time at the pier?

It also would have been a plot hole, Why would his fusion reactor not work the first time but then work the second time?

Anyone else love some of the little Peter/Mary Jane moments in Spider-Man 3, such as in the beginning when MJ is concerned that her voice was too quiet, so Peter explains the acoustics to her, and she affectionately calls him a nerd? And let's not forget when she was reaching out to Peter prior to him going after Sandman to prevent him from getting carried away with his anger.

Oh I do love them!!! I also liked the one when they are in the web and MJs tells him what she wishes...And the May/Peter moments as well. Everytime May asked Peter if he's ready for marriage makes me, I dunno?! It's sad and touchy then he later on declares he's not ready, but Aunt May leaves him the ring and starts her forgiveness spech...(ah, looks like am just looking the trilogy again soon:whatever:)

Anybody seen this? I lol'd pretty hard. :funny:

:applaud:lmao: I wanna find the guy who made this and thank him.

Yeah, Dafoe's Goblin was very (I know this word is thrown around too much) cheesy. His Norman was great, though. Loved his Norman, but his Goblin could have been a bit more threatening. If he was written much like he was in that final battle, he would have been perfect.

Haha, I rememer first time I watched Spider-Man and I was younger...I always considered Norman Osborn really frightening without his mask- well I still do.

That's because he saw the first movie, and chose not to repeat Norman's mistake.

:woot: I'm sure that's the reason why.

I don't think it would be impossible, that a reaction works just a the sceond try. Maybe some little nuclear particle ruined the fist attempt?

It depends on what kind of reaction you're talking about. There's a zillion different kinds in Science. Fusion reactions are very specific.

If some little particle was all it took to turn the experiment into a danger that could destroy the city, then it was hardly worth the gamble or all that money Oscorp invested, was it? It made more sense that Octavius' calculations were just off.
