Finally bought Leopard. Should be getting it any day now.

So, a couple of things I want to double check. I should be able to have Windows and Mac partitions on the same external drive and Time Machine will be fine? I'll lose my Windows BootCamp when I upgrade?

You should be fine in both instances, but check out Winclone, which will let you back up your bootcamp partition "just in case".

Did you get a lobotomy when you became a mod over at BB.com?

Sooooooo..Apparently I needed an appointment to get help at the 'Genius Bar' o.O Which almost made my hour and a half trip totally useless, luckily one of the guys there was way nicer than the little head 'concierge' dude with the Napoleon Complex. I swear I did not in anyway think of shoving his head through the pretty Mac screens. The Sony TV screen is another story however....:o

I even got a compliment from the guy who helped me about how he liked my shield I had on my Mac. ^_^

My charger is smaller *squee* and it works! *hugs her working Mac* Bummer that everytime I go to the store I feel like shaving my hips and breasts down so I don't feel like a whale next to the short little, wisps they hire. :/ The 'uptown' quality doesn't help much when I arrive in jeans and a t-shirt. (Dude..there is a Tiffany & Co store right next to the Mac place! :wow:)

Anyway alls well that ends well and the Starbucks with the two extra shots really helped at the end. :cwink:

*Considers dunking charger in water and using warranty*

Oh, and you tell those wisps that real women are supposed to have curves and to go eat a sandwich.

Thank you Jag! And Evo! And Wieg! ^_^

-cough- do it -cough- I was so surprised when he brought it out, it's about half the size of the last 'brick' I have O.O very, very nice :)

I shall! :cmad: And only the shortie invaded my personal space by turning on my computer..he totally deserved the shock of my pink fairy background. -furious- Also I did look at the Macbook Air's and the iPhones *gaspage* *die* *wants*

Printer issue. I'm using a Sharp MX3501 series and for some reason they set it up to require authentication. Is there a way to default a printer with the password to print so I don't have to do it in the Job Handling every time I try to print something?

I have an Intel Mac using Tiger (10.4.11)

I can't see anything in the print setups that would allow me to do this.

Jesus, that's a beast of a printer/copier. No clue, man. A cursory search on Google and on Apple's Support Discussions didn't reveal anything. You might make sure you've got the latest drivers from Sharp.

I'm trying to log on to this site and it keeps telling me "It appears that your browser has Javascript disabled. To take advantage of this site's features, please enable Javascript in your browser" so when I go to the FAQ it tells me to
"For Firefox, please follow these steps:

1.Go to Tools-> Options
2.Click on the Content icon
3.Check the box "Enable Javascript"

But I don't have an option under tools and when I go to content under preferences "enables Java Script" and "enable Java" are both ticked, Is there something in the advance that needs to be ticked or not, to get me through? :csad: Please and thank you. :yay:

Aw Crap...yeah it's really annoying even the guy installing everything didn't know what to do. I couldn't find anything either so this was sort of a last ditch.
Thanks anyway.

It's not a normal print driver function, so it would have to be something Sharp built into their specific print driver. You might be able to write an applescript to input the password automatically for you every time you print, but I wouldn't be a good person to help you with that.

This site, Superherohype forums, is the one you're having this issue with? At any rate, there shouldn't be anything in the advanced section that you need to do, so I'm not sure why it's not working for you. Could be an Active Server page that's trying to load up a Windows specific script under the guise of Javascript, I guess.

It's a site for volunteers for the winter olympics. I registered but it won't let me log into the account I set up. I guess I'll call them and see if I can do it over the phone. Thanks.

I take it that's the only site you've run across that has this issue? Have you tried it from Safari, just out of curiosity? Some web coders do stuff that specifically won't work with Firefox. Bastards.

Really loving the Iphone.

I've had it for about two months know and after heavy use it works like a champ. I love how I can listen to music but when a call comes in it cuts the music and goes to the ring, then when I hang up, it goes back to the music. Nice.

The web apps are nice. The maps feature is a life saver. It's gotten me out of so many traffic jams and has shown me quicker routes. I just love this phone. I don't think I will ever buy another phone. Oh and the quick email reply's to my boss got me a better score in my review. ;) Thanks Iphone. Looooove you. :)

One question.

Any of you guys have a .mac account and how's iweb and setting up your own site on it? I'm looking on doing one and putting my videos and photography on there and my HTML skills well, suck ass.

I don't have a .Mac account, but I've played around with one. Pretty rock stupid to use. And if you have iLife '08 with iWeb, you can design some very cool websites, no coding required, and automatically up them to your .Mac account.

Apple systems have a reputation of being higher priced than their PC counterparts. But, love it or hate it, it looks like the MacBook Air is a clear price leader in the super-thin laptop market.

"Walt Mossberg has an early look at the ThinkPad X300, Lenovo's answer to the MacBook Air. He says the ThinkPad is almost as skinny and light as the Air, but has many of the ports and features lacking on Apple's machine. The biggest downside: it costs much more and will be limited to a paltry 64 gigabytes of storage. 'Unlike the Apple, which can be ordered with a higher-capacity, lower-priced hard disk, the new ThinkPad will only be available with the expensive, limited capacity solid-state drive. So it will start at between $2,500 and $2,800-up to $1,000 more than the Apple's base price.'"

Apple systems aren't higher priced than PC's that are configured with similar hardware and software, if you really start looking at the comparisons. You just can't by a low-end piece of crap $300 Mac like you can on the Windows side and that's really the major difference.

jag

I just said they have the reputation. I know the price differences aren't really that much, and the difference usually pays off in a better quality hardware/software.

Although I do have to rephrase my price leading comment. The new ThinkPad uses the solid state drive and is several hundred dollars less than the solid state Air. It's just that the Air lets you get a standard drive and a nice jump in memory.

Their site says to use ie or firefox. I called them today and they're not supporting Mac systems, jackasses. Well, as long as they have my application and they now know they need to get their **** together for us Mac users. :cmad:
