Over three hours, really? And the final cut doesn't even run fricking TWO?

Where'd you hear the bit about three hours?

I'm curious to see if they'll do an "unrated" DVD. I'd also like to know what was cut/inserted from/into the unrated DVD of the first.

@Stormy- So I guess an uncut directors cut will be released in the future much like they did with the first Saw.

About Jigsaw/Amanda (please read, I want input)...

Did anyone ever think about the possibility that John was really Amanda's father...? That isn't out of the realm of possibility.

It's quite possible. Now THAT would be an interesting twist.

You know, I was SO expecting something like that in the movie, but something tells me they would have had that in Saw III if it were true.

Exactly, to do it with both of them
dead
would be pointless. If they were planning it, they have missed their chance.

Yes, hopefully a real one this time instead of the same movie with about 30 seconds thrown in like the first two so called "uncut special edition" dvd's were.

As much as it appears that they are, I doubt they're dead.

If they go down that route, much like Amanda in Saw III, the Saw franchise is beyond redemption

I'm not saying it should happen, but it probably will.
I've been against a SAW IV from the start, and that's coming from someone that loves all three of these movies with a passion.

I really think the only person who can pick up Tobin Bell's mantle while doing justice to the story is Cary Elwes. but that is another conversation, feel free to see my post in the Saw IV thread

I don't think anybody can come close to picking up Tobin's mantle. He and Shawnee are the heart of these movies, without them it's not SAW.

A Saw without Tobin Bell is NOT A SAW MOVIE AT ALL.

Might as well start making ANOES movies void of Robert Englund and Candyman films with no Tony Todd.

The only Freddy movie I saw was FvJ, and I've never seen a Candyman movie.

Jigsaw's death was inevitable from the get-go, and his wounds in the end of Saw III are clearly fatal. Amanda's wounds, however, could be up for debate. Although the filmmakers obviously intended for her to die this time out, she's only shot in the connecting area between her neck and torso. She could pass out from blood loss and be revived in the sequel. I have to wonder if that's where they'll go with this.

Shawnee Smith has publicly stated this is her last Saw movie

Where'd she say that? I've heard the exact opposite - that she'd be open to coming back for more. She did say that this is "likely" to be the last for her, though that doesn't mean much. Tobin Bell has said the same actually - he's willing to do more.

I never got round to seeing Saw2, so is there anything I should know before seeing this one?

I hope Shawnee does come back, but then again I hope she doesn't. She is hot and all - and I do like Amanda - but it was pretty clear that her arc is over. She failed her test at the end. There wouldn't be any point in her return.

I saw this movie last night. What can I say?

Awful. Just awful. I knew it would be, seeing as Saw II was already a small step away from the greatness of the first Saw, but this one just killed the franchise.

Gore for the sake of having gore, to ''top" the first two movies. A story that makes the Jackass films look like they have a plotline.

And to top it all off? The one thing I like about this?

Amanda and Jigsaw are dead. Finally. Saw II really should have ended both of them.

Too bad, Saw IV is already green-lit, cause it doesn't need to get made, at all, but then again, this one didn't either.

I think it'd actually be fascinating to see her come back. How does she feel about Jigsaw now? Betrayed and ready to turn his back on him, maybe help the authorities solve his latest puzzles to help free the daughter? More loyal than ever to his TRUE cause? More angry than ever at people, and more willing than ever to kill them?
