Harmon Walsh would be awesome!
Agreed, but does anyone know how old Walsh is?
Harmon Walsh would be awesome!
Agreed. Despite Manganiello having the build and height, his acting is really not up to snuff from what I'd expect from Superman. Hamm is, at least, a damn good actor.
He's got a similar look to Matthew Fox, which is okay for Supes and not so much for Clark. Plus, I don't think he has the gentleness that I've seen in Fox, and that is essential in Superman (even if he unleashes his not so gentle side too).
To me, Harmon Walsh looks like a mix of Routh and Bale:
not diggin' Harmon....he KINDA looks like Superman, but he really just looks weird and lacks power in his voice. on top of that, if the clip from vimeo shows the extent of Harmon's acting abilities then definitely "no thanks".
OK, here we go again
I really see Superman in Manganiello
He has Gravitas. and the role demands it. He has a great screen presence, and its imposing without being too intimidating, and he seems to be a great guy (Maybe I'm silly but I would hate to see that the actor playing Superman has a "hollywood" life, you know, the kind that keeps him in the spot light in PerezHilton or TMZ), and can carry the role, not just on the screen but in his celebrity status, just like Reeve did or Routh right now.
And one really good thing about him its that he looks nothing like Reeve (I liked Reeve's Superman, but it seems that now every time you look for a new superman the goal its to finds someone who resemble him), and can give even just from his looks a new take on the character. he has a more Roughed look, not like a thug, but more like a commanding and somehow intimidating look, the one that makes you think; "I don't wanna mess with this guy". but he also has a "protector" quality about him, and a good smile, so even if he its intimidating, he won't scare kids away.
And phisically he had all the characteritics the role needs; his build is that of a farm boy, perfect for the role, Superman has to be big, Joe has a great body, without looking like a steroid abuser body builder, but rather like a person that takes good care of himself, and that can put a damn good fight, could actually believe the audience he can lift a building and intimidate criminals.
Plus, he is a fan of the character, and wants the role, one of the things I liked about Routh was the passion he had with the character, I get the same feeling with Joe, for him, it wouldn't be just another role.

Some people are leaning towards Hamm, I think he look more like Bruce Wayne (Maybe Jor-El), or even Luthor, but I don see superman (unless it is a 50's period piece based on G. Reeves Superman)
I think it is sufficient to say you believe in the casting of an unknown then? I know Routh and Welling fall under a different category as well.My top picks for Superman are:
Henry Cavill (6'1"
Rick Malambri (6'2"
Joe Manganiello (6'5"
Brandon Routh (6'3"
Harmon Walsh (6'2.5.)
Tom Welling (6'3"![]()

Then there are some that see him like their aging dad.
Well, I see him masculine and powerful, he can be friendly and ussually is, sometimes even a bit cocky, but there is a side of him that can look fully in charge, dominant, alpha. When facing down a villain, yes imposing. - Joe M seems the closest to how I envision the character, out of the current list.
Hey...yo...yo...yo....Joe M. can't ACT!
Too one dimensional and he doesn't have the "IT" factor.
The Nolans will want someone who has range, versatility and at least ACT!
