Decent manip, but I see absolutely nothing from Fassbender that shouts Superman. And now that he's playing Magneto, it's highly unlikely we'd see him in a Supes film anyway

the more and more i look at it, the SR suit was indeed perfect

I watched 'The Social Network' the other evening, and Armie Hammer has my vote!

Dude obviously has the physical frame for Supes (he'll need to gain about 10lbs of muscle though) and is a pretty darn good actor.

He played twins in the movie and they came across as different people/personalities even though they looked almost the same, and had similar interests etc.

He was so good that Sonny Fox on Sirius XM (Rawdog Comedy) said he liked the guys who played the twins. They were great! Or something to that effect.

IMHO he looks like he needs more like 30, but with the right coach I think its 100% doable.

Hammer is NOT my only choice, but one I'd be perfectly happy with. :)

Use another suit! The SR suit sucks!

Dammit!

Here's a suggestion....if you don't like looking at manips of people in the SR suit so much....make some manips yourself instead of screaming at the people who take the time to make them.

You're right about the amount of muscle, but I'm sure they're going to cheat a little with a muscle under-suit or whatever.

So I think they could get away with a little less muscle.

Also, I don't want him to start looking like a gorilla (at 6'5") if he gains more muscle.

Nothing wrong with the 'gorilla' look per-se, but it would destroy the illusion of an every-man Clark Kent.

And guess which other role would require him to play two different personalities :cwink:

:) That's where I was going with that bud!

At that height it would take a LOT more muscle than 10-30 pounds to make him look like a Gorilla.

Taller guys like that spread out the mass so much over that tall frame that you would hardly notice if it was only 10 pounds.

That is exactly why 99% of pro bodybuilders are under 6ft.

I'm just saying if he wants to get in Chris Evans, Joe Manganiello type of shape, Hammer would need about 30 more pounds, and those other two guys certainly do not look like Gorillas in a suit with their builds.

You both do bring up a good line to not cross, IMHO the "build" of how Superman should look on film should be as muscular as they can possibly get away with, without crossing that line into looking like a bodybuilder/gorilla as Clark.

They can even help that illusion with cheating, with that little undersuit to give the illusion of being even more ripped/chiseled as Superman, and that obviously would make him look a bit more massive then too.

Lots of hints here and there are pointing to hammer. Will he get it tho, we shall see.

There have been no hints. Snyder still has like 6 months for pre-production to start.

i wouldnt expect any casting news until Snyder is done with Sucker Punch, which releases in late March. i gather that the earliest we'd probably hear anything is late February, if we're lucky.

You may be right, unfortunately. At least, nothing BIG and offcial from Snyder himself. Solid rumors and shortlists might be flying around before march though.

Just flipping through the channels and saw this guy on Life Unexpected. Kristoffer Polaha, he's 6'3, has a decent voice and look. I really don't know much about him, seeing as how I've never seen the show. I don't know if he's been mentioned before, but he is on a WB show.

When i was looking for a pic of him, there was at least one with his name and a picture of Tom Welling. Anyhow, here he is.

I actually like Polaha for the role. Polaha has a nice guy vibe while being cool at the same time. Not a bad ass, but someone who would fight for ya. Thats important with the Superman role.
