Saw it! It was awesome! Not "Epic" like some have said...it fell slightly short of that. Possibly my disappointment in the short fight with Destroyer. but it was definitely a big production with great fx and great acting.

I think my least favorite thing about the entire movie was when sif and the warriors three showed up to earth. it reminded me of masters of the universe '87..no joke. Like i kind of cringed a little.

Hiddleston as Loki was great. Hemsworth was great they just didn't give us enough thor on earth moments, be them funny or humiliating and humbling for him...that was the best part of the banishment portion of the movie. That said...it could have been a tad longer.

all the acting was great...it enhanced the movie...like it should in the first place but in this day and age the fx are the main stars but here you've got both and it was great.

I hope good word of mouth will help push this movie to higher success because it deserves it. Can't wait to see it again...maybe I'll give IMAX 3D a shot...because after seeing the movie I started to regret seeing it in 2D
Well that's one thing I've pointed out to many people. Kirby's Thor and Asgard were around alot longer than He man

loved the cameo of hawkeye and i was even more impressed when he talked...

I loved that Jeremy Renner actually made an appearance in the movie.

I didn't even catch that was Renner/Clint Barton til afterward, recapping the movie in my head. Very cool

:woot: no what i mean is when they showed up it looked as ridiculous as the 1987 live action he-man movie. like corny, despite the good jokes we got out of it. loved thor long before he-man, my dad had old thor comics that i used to read as a kid before i started collecting on my own.

Just got back from the IMAX 3D viewing and I must say that it was an incredible movie. The acting and the VFX were amazing! Not one part of the movie dragged, IMO. The pacing was spot on, and couldn't have been any better. The 3D depth was done really well. In fact, I will go as far to say that it's probably the best post conversions I have seen to date. Alice in Wonderland a close second in that dept. Anyone else catch when THOR called Coulson "son of coul"? It went by so fast and I don't think many people caught it.

I think there were some people that were worried about the humor in the film, and I have to say that it was well balanced throughout the movie. Although I have to say that even though Kat Dennings is quite nice to look at, her presence in the film was not really necessary. I mean she didn't slow the film down or anything, but she just didn't really bring any value to the overall film. I can't say enough about the soundtrack during the movie. I think the part that sounded the most epic to me was when he got his powers back, and during the fight that ensued. Anyways, fantastic start to the summer and will definitely be going to give this another viewing in the theater.

The movie was just as awesome, exceeded my expectations, and I had high expectations walking in. Hemsworth WAS Thor, Hopkins WAS Odin, and Hiddleston WAS Loki, very good casting. Asgard was beautiful, Jotunheim was awesome. This movie felt like a comic book come to life more than any other comic movie I've seen, like an issue of 'Thor' had come to life.

9/10

I thought the film was great ! I was suprised that it had an emotional core to it concerning the relationships between Thor,Loki, and Odin. It would be easy for it to come off chessy and 1 dimensional, but you really felt a bond between the three men so I thought that was cool. Hemsworth really has alot of charm and I'd like to see him in other roles. I've never seen the actor who plays Loki Before but I think he's one to watch for in the future. Portman was great at grounding the project in reality and was more then just "the love interest" and Jamie ALexander is stunning.

Here!! I loved the movie and loved that part, "Listen to me, son of Coul...", actually, I think I was the only one who laughed at that in my theater (of course, since I live in Peru, that must have had something to do with it), I can´t wait to watch the movie again!

I was never a big fan of thor growing up. To me he seemed like a background character. Dont get me wrong i knew his history and all that jazz and i get why other people are drawn to him as a character. But i must say this movie kicked so much ass it was crazy. I will have to check out the comics again but like any comic the characters only shine under certain writers and artists so if any one knows where i should start other then with Stan Lee and Jack Kirby because i have all that stuff in the essential editions and all that **** is great.
Oh and to stay on topic they did an amazing job on this film. My only beef is that thor when he weilds mjolnir, i didnt feel any actual danger for his character. I give this an 8/10. Oh and not saying anything bad by this just curious. In the comics wasnt loki half frost giant?

I think Loki will be much more a"dick"and like the comics in Avengers,This was basically"the rise of Loki"!!

I hope they keep Loki exactly as is because there was so much texture to the character. A perfect Marvel villain. He was complex but with a tinge of madness mixed in and perfectly written for the film. The rationale for what he did was sound and even logical when you think about his plan. He was even sympathetic to a point. I truly loved how Loki was written and portrayed.

After seeing it again, I also have less criticism for how the romance was handled. That was my main critique after watching it for the first time. It seemed forced that they fell so deeply for each other so fast but there was actually more time together just off screen if you're paying attention and thinking about it. I buy the love at first sight scenario boosted by the situational intrigue. They specifically had that 50 minute drive west together to the crater, the long night by the camp fire and the morning cooking and waking up next to each other. Sure it would be nice to see more bonding on screen but I have to concede that the pace of the film really worked well. I can't remember a film that grabs you like that right off the bat and never lets go but does it with intelligence and heart. Hard to argue any editorial cuts at this point.

The more I watch this film, the more I appreciate it.

You missed that!?

I soon as I saw an arrow I knew a badass was to grace us with his presence.:woot:

Loki and Hakweye's small debut were easily my favorite elements of the movie.

I loved the shots of Loki in Odin's throne for some reason. It just made him look bad ass.

A shockingly large amount of people stayed over for the post credits scene at the showing over here. Some dude yelled as he was walking out, "comsic cube, *****!" which we all had to laugh at.

Loved it. In my opinion, easily the best Marvel movie. Hemsworth killed it and Hiddleston was great. The movie had it all: action, comedy, romance.I felt like every character got their due. It was great to see Hopkins in the movie so much.

Just came back from watching it. Solid B+ from me. I still think that Iron Man 1 is the best Marvel Studios movie and Spiderman 2/X-Men 2 the best Marvel movies. But very entertaining movie none the less.

I loved that they weren't afraid to go too comic booky with Asgard. It was full of so much Jack Kirby goodness that my head nearly exploded.

I actually want to see them use more Heimdall and Sif in the next film, hell every Asgardian as matter of fact.

Loved the movie! It was one of those movies where I walked in expecting it to be average. Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston made the movie for me. They were just amazing! The audience reaction was great as well and everyone stayed for the after credits scene :awesome:

Well, Walt Simonson's legendary run is probably a good bet. It's in the conversation for best run by any single creator on any title ever in comics. JMS' recent relaunch of the title with artist Olivier Coipel is a great read, if rather brief, and you will see a lot of resonance there with the movie. Mike Oeming's six-issue Ragnorok arc is a classic. Those are great places to start imo.

Watched Thor last night. I've been waiting for this movie to be made since I picked up my first ever issue of Thor #399. Yes I shed some tears at one point. Good thing I had those 3-d glasses :)

Thought movie was very entertaining and fun. I wish i had never seen any of the trailers or read the forums religiously prior but oh-well...

Some peeps thought that the Hawkeye cameo was not necessary. I thought it was cool and glad it was in there. I was pleasantly suprised that he was in a few shots and thought it was great when he said to Agent Coulson: "You better hurry up and tell me what you want me to do cause I'm starting to cheer for this guy". HAHA or something like that.

This movie brought it big time!!! Totally epic and I felt great coming out of the theater. I really liked the part in Jotunheim where Thor spins up Mjolnir really fast before taking out the huge frost beast. I would have liked to have seen some more lightning strikes as well. Yeah the whole cast hit it out of the park. The comedy was really funny and worked well. The comments by the SHIELD agent when the Warriors Three and Sif come to town are priceless. I also loved it when Thor was able to reclaim Mjolnir, very powerful scene. Plus the end credit scene which will help bring about the Avengers which also looks to use the original source material works as well. I hope Captain America will bring about more substantial pieces as to why the Avengers are created besides just end credit scenes with Fury and/or other SHIELD agents. 9.5/10.

Thor was amazing! I think it's the third best comic movie after The Dark Knight & Iron Man! Maybe after another viewing or two I might like it more than IM.

Honestly, I can't think of anything I didn't like about the movie. The acting was great, the story was great, action was pretty good (though the fight with Destroyer was sorta weak), the jokes were funny for the most part & the CG was pretty good too. The fanservice in the movie was f***ing amazing. I geekgasmed during Hawkeye's cameo, I didn't expect it to be so long. :D

The only problem I had wasn't even with the main movie. It was lame that Marvel didn't have a new Cap trailer for Thor, but atleast they showed the first trailer before I saw it.

I give Thor a 9/10. I hope it makes a killing at the box office, it deserves every cent. Now bring on July 22!
