Well it has been used in quite a bit of promo materials such as toys and other merchandise, besides, I think the helmet looks great on movie Thor (even better than in the comic books).
I know others have said this already, but I enjoyed Loki's reaction to the Frost Giant calling Thor a 'princess'; it was like his face was saying "OH Sh#t, we're screwed now..."lol
Superman Returns had tons of potential, but the execution was atrocious. Singer made a ton of bad choices with Superman, and I feel just didn't get Superman at all. He tried worshipping the Donner films while missing the point at the same time.
The public perception, yes. Not how good it was. Now is a relevant sample of the audience being asked or, say, just the ones who know RT and post in it?

Agreed, it is just a very strange film, and I really can't even watch it anymore. It's got all the elements there, but somehow when watched as a film, it falls flat on it's face. There's really no stand out performances either. I love Kevin Spacy, and the Negotiator is one of my all time favorite films, but even he looks lost in the movie. But he had nothing to work with.
Thor should of worn his helmet more, it's not a freaking crown, Thor is a warrior and he wears his helmet in battle, the movie should of stuck to that.
Earth scenes were less interesting, for the next Thor movie they should stick with the more fantastic realms like Asgard.
Destroyer fight good but way too short.
Loki for me wasn't menacing enough, I wanted his movements to be really crouching and slithering, the actor should of pushed his evilness more.
Just a minor beef, but I thought in some scenes Thor was too understated. When Sif asked where were the Frost Giants, Thor said they were hiding like cowards do. To me Thor would of shouted that line as a challenge to the Frost Giants, he wouldn't just calmly say it like he did in the movie.
The movie should of ended with more excitement, maybe a cool shot of Thor flying away or something?
What I loved...
The Frost Giant battle was awesome, they really showed the power of Thor, and I absolutely loved his hammer twirling, very Jack Kirby like. In fact the whole movie had that Jack Kirby vibe to it!
The relationship between Father and sons, this added a very emotional element to the movie.
WOAH WTF!? I just realized that Hogun was played by the same actor who did Kakihara in Ichi the Killer. That is pretty freaking sweet and makes me wish he had facial hair even more now.
Really? I watched Ichi the Killer but I never knew that these two are the same actor. That's pretty cool thing to know. His English isn't fluent but isn't bad either.

I somewhat agree, but you have to think about it this way. The helmets did not have chin straps so during the intense fighting scenes they would have come off quite a bit. And to put chin straps on them might have made them look stupid. Just my thought, though the Lord of the Rings pulled it off quite well.
Agree. Showing the 9 realms, would be nice. Having 80% of the film take place on earth made sense, but because everything took place in the desert it seemed to go slow a lil. Not a negative really. I like long movies.

Agree, plus I wanted to see the warriors 3 plus Sif kick more butt. They are suppose to be the baddest of the bad, but had to depend on Thor to take care of business. I hate when movies do that. Make the lead guy 1000x more awesome than similar warriors/gods. Especially when those gods are known to kick arse.

Hopefully, he will build up to that. I think Tom did a spot on job in relation to the story and his character. Keep in mind Loki is the other Asgardian prince and royalty, so he really has no reason up until now to behave otherwise. My only gripe is I wanted to see more of his powers and the gods/aliens powers. That always confused me about the Thor world since I didn't read the comics of Thor. What level gods/aliens were these? What all powers did they posses compared to humans? I wanted to see Loki be able to teleport or vanish like Nightcrawler, except with green smoke and slower, somewhat creepy like.
Also, I'm confused spoiler:
In the comics was Loki an adopted son, or Ice Giant baby, or from an other realm that Odin stole? I was always under the impression that he was Odin and Frigga's son from birth. I know more about Thor Nordic mythology than Thor Marvel mythology history so I wasn't sure.

I can understand that. I would have like to see him either arrogant, so I wouldn't really like him at first and like Loki instead, or see him act as he did on Asgard on Earth and Jane Foster correcting him more. His humanity seem to come to quick for me.

Thought the ending was perfect. So he can only fly with the use of the hammer? I thought he could fly without it in a couple of comics. Maybe I'm mistaken.

Heimdall, he was just bad_ _ _,[/QUOTE]
Yes, the acting was great from all actors. Heimdall was a beast and one of the best, and he was hardly on there. I enjoyed him and Volstagg. I thought he was Jason from I love you man, How I met Your Mother, and Forgetting Sarah Marshall at first lol.
I loved the movie!!! Saw it twice opening weekend. Once in 2-D, once in 3-D. While I'm glad I saw Asgard in 3-D and the closing credit sequence rocked also it loses something for the Midgard scenes.
Grade:A-
What more could I say about Hemmsworth and Hiddlestone in their roles. Sheer brilliant casting. When you toss in Anthony Hopkins as their father the dynamic between the 3 was outstanding!!!! I do wish we could've had more with Frigga(Rene Russo) just to balance out the testerone in the family core. She did show her own courage of course and with one blow knocked aside a Frost Giant before in one hit getting knocked aside by Laufey during the Odinsleep assaniation attempt.
I have to say my biggest appreciation for Idris Elba was as Charles Minor on The Office. Wasn't overly impressed with him in The Losers cause his character seemed so two dimensional there. However, after his Heimdall I'm very curious to see what he brings to Ghost Rider 2: Spirits of Vengeance.
I also don't get the beef with complaints for Jane/Thor. Their "relationship" was meant, as I see it, to be one of initial attraction and an anticipation of love. Not a romantic love story. I think people expected that and forced the perspective.
The post credit scene as total fanboy of the highest caliber and I feel for Joe Q Movie who saw it and thought "WTF was that thing". It wasn't at all as noticable a nod to Captain America or The Avengers as the other post sequence moments have been.
Bring on THOR 2!!!! Enchantress? Valkyrie? Sutur? Baldar?

Man you hit the nail on the head. Yeah, I think the after credits scene lost a few people. However, I think it alludes to the conflict in Avengers nicely. We [humans] think we know and understand more than we actually do and our curiosity bites us in the arse lol. This will be a great way building the plot for Avengers.
haven't seen it yet, but i've heard good things about it. I've been watching the St. Crispin's day speech from Henry V on youtube to get myself psyched!
Yeah I'm sure the post credit scene lost alot of people. I'm curious on who directed it. We know that Branagh directed the IM2 post credit scene, but the Thor scene looked nothing like what Branagh would have done. I don't think it was Joe Johnston either, but I could be wrong.
Is it possible Wheadon could have directed that scene? Stylistically it seems totally up his alley. But yes I'm sure there were some WTF? moments from the general audience on that one.

You know what, after you mentioned it I can see Wheadon's style in that scene, maybe because of dialogue and the way things were shot. Though, if Branagh did the IM2 scene then I can see him doin this one. Hard to say.
Yeah, the
[BLACKOUT] item in the case[/BLACKOUT]
was not very clear, but then I thought about it and was like oh that's..... Then it made perfect sense:
[BLACKOUT]This could be the reason how the aliens or other realm/dimension beings come and the Avengers have to assemble. Tony plugs up some of his tech to this thing and they open a wormhole they can't close.[/BLACKOUT]
