Saw it yesterday morning.

The lead actor can't play anything very interesting to watch - He's mostly an emotionless void once you get past his one little grief scene near the start. The kid is suitably creepy. David Thewlis steals a few scenes. It has a couple of good scares.

Ultimately though: 2/5. More unnecessary remake. More unnecessary horror filler until the next breakthrough thing comes along. Overall a pretty silly movie.

I'm just curious to find out about the red robed demons. I always thought those were a pretty cool design, however, from the looks of the previews/clips it is unnecessary to remake a classic.

I guess if this does well enough to warrant a sequel; we'll see an entire remake of the trilogy itself.

Ok, I have seen it finally.

The whole wasn't so bad like critics were saying. But I think the only reason of making this movie was date, June 6th 2006, to remind ppl about not only classic Omen, but also about nearest Armageddon.

This movie has been unnecessary since that day, which Moore started making it.

The only 3 things, which I liked in this movie were:
1. Liev Schreiber's acting
2. David Thewlis's acting
3. The 3rd act of film.

Thats all. The other parts of film were looking like another horror movie or scenes from The Da Vinci Code (as I think in the beginning).

This remake has nothing new, besides actors. It looks like the script was empty or had the big hole in storylines.

This movie was a bit disappointment to me. I also didn't like dialogues, they were too banale. And that kid, who was playing Damien, he had only necessay look and eyes, but not acting.

But this movie had also some very good moments, especially in 3rd act.

It was movie, which we can see and then forget.

I can give it only 6 out of 10, what is not bad.

P.S. I have just made a poll.

are there any review headlines saying:

I would say there were more intensive than scary moments.

Intensive like a M. Night Shyamalan movie
(cause that's what comes to mind when a scary movie is not frightening)

Well I cant say. There were some really impressive moments, but not frightening.

It is like Damien knocked his mom down and she falls. But I'd say there also were some very intersting moments, especially with Father Brennan, when he tells true about Damien.
The same was in part, when Keith and Robert goes to find graves of Damien's true mother and Robert's true son.
But the scene with attacking dogs was a bit scary.

I just came back from seeing it and thought it really sucked.

I just got back from seeing it.

I don't think a lot of the audience (young crowd) had seen the original so they were pretty surprised about a lot of stuff and jumped/startled by a lot of stuff. It was ok, I wasn't expecting much so I can't say I was completely disappointed.

I loved Mia Farrow and that little boy was great. He didn't have to say much and just was perfect at getting that creepy, devilish look down.

Yes, but this is a remake, not a frame by frame remake. They added stuff, of course. It's new to a whole other generation.

The only movie to see this weekend is Cars. Which is NOT a crappy remake.

I agree with Clint Eastwood, all the remakes they are doing these days are "nonsense."

the omen sucked! that kid had no presence, it was everything else that was freaky not him, he wasn't creepy at all. now mia farrow she was creepier than the kid.

i'm gonna watch the original though. i heard it's 10x better.

with all due respect, I think you're missing the point of the movie here. it's a not a generation thing, really...
but if they have deviated from the original to the point of appealing to a younger generation, then I guess that where all the negative reviews are coming from.

But like I said in my original post I wasn't expecting much, so I wasn't disappointed, I didn't epect it to be some masterpiece that would be silly. I'm not saying it was awesome, I just stated what I saw in the theater I attended. It was pretty clear they never seen the original.

It was ok, I just felt like I was watching the same movie I've already seen on video, just in theatres this time.

The kid was generic as hell with that forced "Look at me, I'm so evil!" look on his face in every scene, and the score was way overblown, adding nothing but noise rather than tension.

The original had a much better take on him, where the things happening around him are otherworldly while he seemed rather normal.

i know he didn't have any presence. he wasn't creepy. i didn't see all of the original but damn that boy made a statement!

Wonder if they'll end up completing the remake trilogy now, since this will most likely make money.

Yeah. The original rocks all kinds of stuff, they should have just re-released it.

they seriously need to stop :(

I jumped twice. When the doggy came outta nowhere in the graveyard and when Baylock went all psycho-*****. But it was a decent thriller.
