Dark Raven, cease your tormenting ways!

I have a question. Why do people keep saying this film doesn't have a name yet? It seems official to me that it is "The Fantastic Four." IMDb/IMDbpro has that listed as the title. Actors and producers/execs freely refer to it as "The Fantastic Four" in interviews as well. Is it because there hasn't been a logo released, and that will somehow make it official?

"So it shouldnt come as any surprise that the tentative title is Fantastic Four Reborn.
Of course titles change all the time, so until Fox sends out a press release, Id not get too worked up over either one. More as we hear it."
Still waiting for that press release.![]()

I just saw Whiplash and WOW, Miles Teller was FANTASTIC ! What a range. I already liked him in Rabbit Hole and The Spectacular Now but this time he impressed the hell out of me.
I'm really curious about this FF reboot. Almost everything about it seems weird but I can't help but remain optimistic. I LOVED Chronicle and the cast is full of young talents.
I hope we get something (a teaser, a photo ???) before the end of the year.
I know this is extremely, absolutely unlikely but how likely do you guys think that maybe the mystery surrounding this film is intentional on Trank's part? Maybe he went into this film with a mindset of "The only way this movie's gonna work is if we have ABSOLUTE anonymity. No set leaks, no press releases, no promo pics...we're just going to take everyone by surprise just like how movies were back in the day." Like I said, its unlikely but a part of me thinks that maybe just MAYBE Trank is doing his best to orchestrate quite possibly the most secretive super hero movie in history.
The only reason I may believe this is because I remember Chronicle came out of NOWHERE. I remember seeing a commercial for the movie like two weeks before it came out and I was like "Where the f*** did THIS movie come from?" It came out of nowhere and took everyone by surprise. Maybe Trank is the new JJ Abrams and likes his films mysterious until release? Maybe? Possibly?
Shadow of the Colussus? Geez. That's an incredibly difficult game to adapt for film anyway, no way I'd give that to Trank.
Definitely. I also firmly believe Trank got stoned throughout the filming process because he wanted to really understand Ben Grimm's predicament of being a stone man. Toby Kebbell's Domashev tease was a masterful way to introduce today's young, hip crowd to a Doom for the modern age. The fact that every single film Trank was developing after Chronicle was stuck in development hell (this film, Venom, Shadow of the Colossus) isn't disconcerting at all. And comparing Trank's Fantastic Four film to JJ Abrams, whose next film has a trailer over a year before release and already has a massive multimedia advertising campaign, is the greatest comparison of all time!![]()

So yeah, the silence IS all intentional, but not for the "I'm going to surprise them because this is so good" reason. It's "we have zero faith in this movie so we're going to hide it until the last second to try and keep any negative buzz away and hopefully at least get our investment back."
