Would be interesting to see the contrast between Supes and Bats and their reactions to the only times they killed.

Hopefully Superman is the one who has actually got the hell over it and doesn't become a sad sack.

besides, if you have seen MoS you know that Superman DID get over it. Maybe Batman could be all judgy like despising Superman for getting over it that quickly but learning about compromise and that even if he decided to stay on the path of zero tollerance for killing, he shouldn't judge Superman for it when Superman had no other viable choice

Not to come off like I'm trying to pick a fight with you in multiple threads, but that would be just as "wrong" as Superman killing Zod.

If you had a problem with that (not sure if you do), I don't know how Batman killing Joker could be a viable option for you.

Batman having killed someone and having a hard time dealing with it could work. Just not the Joker. There are several instances, post crisis, where he killed someone. The dude who would dynamite a building, and who Batman kicked into a safe to his doom. And in this Grant/Breyfogle story, he kicked a dude who fall into a dumpster and died. So really, he doesn't need to kill the Joker, it could be just a thug, and yet, he would still be devastated.

Not a fan of this idea. Maybe Batman thinks or believes he killed the Joker and has been trying to wrap his head around being a murderer, only for the Joker to return?

No to the Joker being dead. Having a shared DC movie universe without him just seems like a missed opportunity, especially since he has the potential to be a poster character the same way Loki is.

Yes to him being absent in this movie, though. Maybe he's been in Arkham for some years. Just save him for a solo movie.

Nope. Didn't have a problem with Supes killing Zod. I think it was interesting. Just have a problem with the way it was executed and how in that movie it didn't seem to have any real consequence.

Funny enough, nobody really complained about that with any other superhero (that I have seen)

It seems like a common thing to have a character (often a foe) die in movie versions, with little impact on the hero in the longterm, but Supes seems to be the only one who has to live with the guilt of it.

I think there will be consequences. I also think this is one of the instances where it would be cheesy to spell everything out.

I would have prefered the PZ ending. It would have been "safer" and quelled some of the outrage that the film has caused.

But I think Clark screaming and moving on with his life is acceptable within the runtime of the film. It isn't that he doesn't feel guilt or have some longterm grief at what he did, it's that he has to put it aside in order to perform his duties as Supes.

At least, I hope that's what the next movie suggests

As for Batman killing Joker, who's to say that the Joker didn't just troll him and cracked his own neck at the climax of their battle (a la TDKReturns), so that Batman suffers and is public enemy #1 when people find out it's Batman who "killed" someone.

Though I think it just forces a parallel instead of letting it come naturally.
