So, Alice Eve was cast in Iron Fist season 2, which rules her out as MCU's Sue Storm, unfortunatetly

Alfre Woodard has played characters in both the cinematic MCU and the Netflixverse so I doubt Ms. Eve's Iron Fist role will keep her off the FF. With the Disney streaming service scheduled to launch in 2019 all of the Netflix shows (and Inhumans) will likely be considered "Elseworlds" tales by Feige and company, if they aren't doing that already.

Alfre had a minor role in Civil War. Sue is a major character and she's been cast as a series regular for Iron Fist. Doesn't bother me as she would've been too old anyway.

When did that happen, and why was she wasted on that crap?

I'd go for someone like Blake Lively. She would be a great Sue.

Or if not her, then how about someone like Melissa Benoist?

Kamala Khan has a chance to show up as she is a popular character that ticks a lot of boxes but for the rest of the Inhumans they will probably go back on the shelf. And lets be honest, the only reason the Inhumans have gotten a big push over the past 10 years is because Marvel didn't have the Mutant rights. If Marvel had the Mutant rights at the time Kamala was created she would probably have been a Mutant rather than Inhuman, but marvel didn't want to be making a load of new characters that they couldn't use.
idk, I think the 'Mutant origin' became a very lazy way to introduce new characters all through the 90s. Writers didn't have to come up with an elaborate excuse for powers when a simple "he/she is a Mutant" was enough. So I'm glad they downsized that bit starting with House of M and Decimation. Kamala with a non-Mutant origin felt like fresh air after decades of new Superheroes 'born that way'.
But, to be honest, the 'Inhuman origin' after the Terrigen bomb was almost as lazy, once the novelity wore off.

Tim Guinee was in Ironman 1 and 2 as Major Allen and played Lewis Wilson's dad in Punisher.

With Eve out of the picture, good luck finding an actress that looks a stunningly beautiful as CB Sue AND brings an Emma Thompson-like intellect to the acting process.

well, then, of course, an actor playing two different roles in the MCU has happened before once or twice.

Exactly. It's possible she can still get the role of Sue, I mean if she's believed to be the best choice for them, they'll cast her.

I think the shows aren't really connected at this point anyway and Loeb is really the only one pushing that.

Woodard played a 5 minutes, 4 lines part in Civil War, Eve would play a main character

Emma Stone. Remember, ASM isn’t canon in MCU. Or Jennifer Lawrence.

Yep, and Quill's mom and Parker's headmaster were in TFA. As I wrote, it happened before. Not on that scale, though

but... that's the Daily Bugle!!!

It's not even the Daily Bugle. It's the Flatiron building!

People in real life know it as that. Why try to pass it off as something else?

Just have a specially created CGI building for the Baxter Building instead of using an existing landmark.

Otherwise that would be like trying to pass off the Chrysler building as something fictional.

It doesn't appear as though anyone at Marvel Studios is concerned with keeping continuity with the TV shows. If Eve wins the part I doubt her role in Iron Fist will keep her of the team.

I agree, I love the Flat Iron Building, but it would serve as a better Daily Bugle than Baxter Building. The Baxter Building would be better to look more modern to go with the idea of Reeds Technology being developed there.

Surfer

Yep. If the director, Feige and Sarah Haley Finn decide she's best for the role, she'll still get it

I don't see the Netflix universe and movie universe ever intersecting - not because of the difference in tone but the maturity rating of the content. Little kids cheering for Spider-Man should not be required to watch Kingpin decapitate someone with a car door for continuity.

I'm personally fine with that. I don't need to see Kingpin teaming up with Thanos, Ultron or the Wizard. If Alice Eve can win the part for Sue Storm then let her have it.

It'd be hilarious to see the hardcore "The show and movies are connected" crowd melt down

who?
edit: googled her. still no idea who she is or if she can act, but the idea of someone called Arielle playing in a mermaid movie made me laugh
I thought she was pretty funny in Think Like A Man. She's younger than Eve by a few years so age won't be a problem. Just spit balling here.

For a serious suggestion how about Saorise Ronan? Everything I've seen her in she's been great. Especially in Brooklyn & Grand Budapest. Only problem is her age. She's a little too young for Sue. But to be fair, the movie wouldn't be out until 2020 so yeah. Gives her time to age into the role.

Haha yeah that could get rough.

The connections are fun but they can only go so far. I see AOS as the gray space in between. They have chosen this path for creative reasons and it works so far. Sometimes I wonder if it would have been better to have two distinct universes like DC but on the flip side - it gives the adults additional content to enjoy in the larger Avengers universe. But it doesn't need to cross pollinate. It's a big enough world. Like real life, there is an underbelly.

I also prefer the MCU proper remain distinct after the colossal missteps on Marvel TV with Scott Buck. How he was awarded the Inhumans after delivering Marvel's first critical dud on both mediums is beyond me. I don't even know what they do with the Inhumans now. Sad casualty of the Perlmutter-Feige power struggle I suppose. Whereas what Feige has crafted is simply beautiful.

In fairness it should be pointed out that Parker's Headmaster (played by Kenneth Choi) had photos of the TFA character on the wall of his office indicating that he is a descendant of Jim Morita.
