In fairness it should be pointed out that Parker's Headmaster (played by Kenneth Choi) had photos of the TFA character on the wall of his office indicating that he is a descendant of Jim Morita.

What in God's green earth is a Headmaster?

Haha yeah that could get rough.

The connections are fun but they can only go so far. I see AOS as the gray space in between. They have chosen this path for creative reasons and it works so far. Sometimes I wonder if it would have been better to have two distinct universes like DC but on the flip side - it gives the adults additional content to enjoy in the larger Avengers universe. But it doesn't need to cross pollinate. It's a big enough world. Like real life, there is an underbelly.

I also prefer the MCU proper remain distinct after the colossal missteps on Marvel TV with Scott Buck. How he was awarded the Inhumans after delivering Marvel's first critical dud on both mediums is beyond me. I don't even know what they do with the Inhumans now. Sad casualty of the Perlmutter-Feige power struggle I suppose. Whereas what Feige has crafted is simply beautiful.

Buck was brought on to Inhumans prior to Iron Fist's release, unfortunately. The way I look at it is, the TV side wants to say it's connected but Feige wants nothing to do with the shows.

If for some reason Feige and Marvel Studios wanted to use Iron Fist, Black Bolt, etc...he would most certainly recast the roles and not use the TV actors. With the news that they could be getting the Fantastic 4 and the X-Men means it's less likely for any of the Defenders to show up or Feige using them in movies though.

Raven do you think Saoirse is the right age? She's 23 now but the movie won't be out until 2020 at the earliest. So she'll be about 25-26 which is my preferred age for Sue. I just don't want them to be teenagers like Ultimate & Trank's movie but maybe a few years after College graduates. (30s for Reed & Ben)

Lily James if/since Alice is out of the picture

I don't want Sue to be a teenager either. I don't want the Four being teenagers, except for perhaps Johnny.

I don't feel Saoirse Ronan is right for Sue though. Not just because of her age though.

I'd like someone in their mid to late 20s for the role, or maybe someone about 30 at most.

And Michael B Jordan didn't look anything like a teenager. He might even have looked older than the others.#

She wouldn't be bad.

Both him, Kebbell and Bell looked like 28 year olds. It was hard for me to buy that those people were teenagers. Especially Kebbell. To me, Teller was the only who looked like a 17 year old. What a mess of a movie.

And Lily James is a great choice

I think she's too old at 35. She'd be even older when they start filming.

I want Sue to be in her 20s.
And I want Reed older. This whole kid-genius-ultimate-FF stuff doesn't work for me. And I don't think a 20 years age difference between him and Sue is a good idea nowadays.
OTOH, Johnny should be around Peter Parker's age and she shouldn't be much older than him. 10 years tops. So around 30 is a good age for her in my opinion

The Fantastic Four always worked best as a superhero family. They are called Marvel's First Family for a reason.

What in God's green earth is a Headmaster?.

It's a kind of Transformer, Hot Rod, Arcee, Kup etc. Gonna have to deduct some geek points for you not knowing that.:gngl:

Headmasters are Transformers that had a smaller Transformer form their heads basically of a larger Transformer body.

Definitely want Reed to be older. I want him old enough to be Sue's professor and she his student. I don't want them contemporaries.

He needs to seem like he has the gravitas to be a leading authority and not just some young teacher. And I definitely don't want him like a student.

Ioan Gruffudd would actually have been much more suitable as Reed now than he was in 2005. Unfortunately his ship has sailed.

That makes sense now. I'm in favour of calling him the Principal though, since it takes place in NYC :woot:

For Patrick Stewart and James McAvoy, because they played Xavier as British, it made sense for them to refer to themselves as headmasters. And although it was in NYC, they're the ones who set up the school. They're also Oxford old boys.

Well, I should say an Oxford old boy instead of referring to them as two people.

I think Ioan Gruffudd could make a good Charles Xavier now.

There's only one choice for MCU Reed

He was considered for Star Lord and Ant-Man as well

I personally feel he comes across as too young for Reed.

I want someone who seems and looks older.

I know he is in his mid 30s, but he looks way younger. In 10, maybe 15 years he might be perfect, but as of now or 2020? way too young for Reed

Feige should just declare that these two universes are separate, and the TV can recast Avengers for their own purposes, like CW did with Superman.

I agree on basically anything, including Gruffudd

Eh. He's already 36, almost 37. He'd be around 40 by the time the movie happens and if Reed is gonna be around for a while, he'd be the right age.

Pretty much. I don't think they'll have any need or desire to use any of the Defenders or the Punisher though so I'm not too bothered

How about Matt Smith?

No. I don't want Reed coming across as an oddball and still such a nerd. That's what the Story films got wrong. I'd want him like the strong leader type of the Jack Kirby era who is nevertheless very intelligent.

If they were younger, I'd want someone like Tim Daly or Bruce Greenwood. Daly looks younger than Greenwood and in great shape but he's still probably too old for what Marvel might want.
