Willie... I'll put this one here, 'cause it points more and more towards it's been coming for a while and we missed it.
A4 releases on May 4. That A on the Holland reveal poster, lose the left leg? you got the four....

Pour yourself a drink, sit back, and we wait for the bankers to say "yeah, it adds up right, here's the checks."

I’ll believe it when we get an official announcement. I’ve had too many times I thought something good was going to happen only to be disappointed - going back to the Corman film.

I said the same thing awhile back. That A can EASILY look like the 4 logo if you lose that small piece, it even looks detachable. I think this thing has been in the works for a minute and it's why Fox has always played hardball with Disney.

Add to that, the Watchers in GotGv2, mention of a new, possibly the real deal adamantium-vibranium shield in Homecoming, and I think one of the faces on the Grandmaster's tower (the one on the lower right) looking more like a certain interstellar surfer than who most said it was...

At least 2 years in the making. Fiege looks mighty happy lately, too. I think the Marvel characters are an iron-clad side deal, separate, that sparked all this.

We are in the homestretch, and all the other horses fouled at the gate or are pulling up lame on the last corner of the track.

Well, if they have been in talks over this for a couple of years it would explain the decision to let Fox have X-Men TV shows. Given past history between the 2 (not exactly great) that concession was a bit of a head scratcher.

That being said, I don't know if this has been a long game by both or not. I just hope they don't screw the deal up now.

Seems so damn close, but until its official I'm not celebrating anything.

I ain't, but am feeling happy it might go down. It's all down to accountants now, and they, unlike lawyers, are in only at the end.

And unlike lawyers, they are happy when all parties reach a deal

I'm also cautiously optimistic, but I do believe that it's going to be true because it's all over the news and there's no way they can just stop this freight train. Plus I think both companies really do want to make it happen.

Maybe next Christmas it will be the distribution rights to Hulk and Namor from Universal or the full rights to all Spider-Man characters.

Sony is not going to do that.

If Disney purchases 20th Century Fox there is going to be a number of R rated titles that don't necessarily fit with their brand, because of this they may turn around and sell them to other companies that can benefit from them in exchange for things like getting Spider-man back or getting the Distribution rights back for Hulk and Namor. I mean if the titles don't fit their brand, holding on to them does them no good. Therefore, they may be even willing to give away more then they should of the titles that are useless to them, in order to acquire the titles they want. So, Sony selling Spider-man back is a real possibility if they are willing to give Sony enough for it.

She-Hulk and Jessica Drew Spider-Woman need to happen in the MCU.

This. They're two huge female characters who are sorely missing from the MCU.

These two were top tiered female heroes in Marvel's bronze age.

I'm curious if they will turn around and sell Predator, Apes, Kingsman, etc..

I think that some of this will depend on if once Disney acquires 20th Century Fox if they continue to use their label. If they do they could continue with titles that don't fit their Disney brand under the Fox label. However, it is quite possible Disney might dissolve the Fox label to focus on strengthening their own brand. If so, the deals I mentioned previously are a real possibility.

I would hope “20th Century Pictures”, the original name, could be used instead. Then Disney could use that for other movies, from “R” or even just stuff that is not the “regular” type of stuff they would show.

Disney might sell Kingsman to Netflix for a whole lot of money. AvP and Apes are massive franchises which are the types of films Disney likes making.

It's not like the Aliens franchise is in good shape and we are desperate for more right now. Scott's basically ruined it.

I'd prefer if classic movies aren't necessarily thought of IP that has to be exploited with an automatic new sequel or reboot all the time. Yes, even regarding Star Wars.

Was the last Kingsman movie any good? I didn't see it.

I loved the first Kingsman, but I thought the sequel was decidedly weak. I mean the second one made enough money, so they could make a third one if they want. But the novelty from the original has already worn off.

The way I see it, Disney could keep the 20th Century Fox label to make more adult, older-skewing live action films if they want to keep making those type of movies. See no reason why not. Disney had Dimension and Touchstone to do that for them for years.

People forget, but Disney was so skittish about the original Pirates of the Caribbean, they didn't even put the Disney castle logo before the film.

Sony don't own the movie rights to Spider-Woman.

I think a lot of people are jumping the gun here. There is still the small matter of the buyout being rejected because it would represent a monopoly for Disney.
