I can see the streaming service becoming a mess for Disney. Netflix is all the content they can get for one price. If Disneyflix is only all-ages and PG-13 content, then there's another UI and monthly fee to stream ESPN, and half the FOX library and some Marvel shows are on Hulu instead, plus new seasons of 5 more Marvel shows exclusive to a competitor... That's not how you make as much money as Netflix. It's all about streamlining things for consumers.
Not following the logic because Disney would have multiple revenue streams in comparison
and possibly not have to incur the amount of debt Netlix racks up.
<30-something sports fan> I want Disneyflix to watch with my kid and also sports. *has to deal with 2 different UIs*
<Marvel fan> I want to watch all MCU films and shows. *has to deal with 3 different UIs*
<Someone else> Eh, I'm an adult who doesn't follow sports. I'll deal with Netflix or Hulu, not both.
It makes a lot more sense to consolidate everything under 2 UIs tops than 4, one of which is a competitor.

The problem for Hulu with Disney as a majority owner is that all the good stuff - The Glengarry Leads - are going onto Disneyflix. Star Wars, Pixar, MCU, Disney Animation & Live Action. Probably the X-Men series as well. So Hulu is getting Disney's second tier product and also probably losing NBC/Universal as well. Not great!
If Hulu primarily becomes a repository for ABC TV shows and R rated 21st Century Fox product I don't see it thriving. Iger should probably try to keep Kabletown involved or sell a chunk to Verizon or Apple or another big company attempting to get into streaming.
Well we are all hoping Disney will own 60% of Hulu by the end of the year. Its not out of the realm of possibility they intend to own all of it. Theres your successful streaming service right there.
So, Willie....
to tell us which is first, do they run a certain REO song to let us know Storm is coming, or a Sisters Sledge song for the FF?
Fan art of Kraksinki as MCU Mr. Fantastic.

Its over. Thank god, guys.
Its finally over!
True. But were really close to the finish line imo.I'm still waiting for the vote in a week and a half. At that point, I'll call it over, but I still have the tiniest bit of nervousness until then.
It's over. (bidding wise)https://www.cnbc.com/2018/07/16/comcast-unlikely-to-raise-fox-bid-focused-on-sky-sources.html
Comcast unlikely to raise Fox bid; focused on Sky - sources: CNBC
Fox won't up its bid further for Sky either. Disney is letting Comcast is taking them. This opens the door for further deal making. In a regulatory filing last week, Disney said Fox may elect not to increase its offer for Sky, and that any increase in the debt financing for Sky would require Disney's consent, which it may not elect to provide.

This is crucial:
Iger signaled that Disney isn't pursuing Sky any longer, which gives Roberts the green-light to press forward and wrap up that deal. Any remaining incentive he might have had to keep after Fox evaporated.
