So this is just a vote?

Between what and what?

I mean Comcast dropped out of the race right?

Only Disney remains and it's not like anyone is coming to buy Fox apart from Disney so I'm guessing the vote will be unanimously sell to Disney
Correct lol. Disney's offer is too great to pass up

At this point it's pretty much academic. Shareholders need to decide if they want to take Disney's offer - which will make their investment worth nearly twice what it was before the rumors of Disney's interest leaked.

... or turn down the offer and watch the value of their stock plummet.

There's almost no question how the vote will go, but the shareholders get their say to make it official.
And from that point it's smooth sailing. We don't have to worry about the possibility of a rival bid and the deal should close before the end of the year. It'll be like last Christmas when the deal was announced all over again

Marvel Rising is a new cartoon designed to promote Marvel fashion dolls, just as DC Superhero Girls are an attempt to market superhero merch to the other 50% of children.

Look at that lineup. Can anyone look at Marvel scraping like that and not foresee the X-Women A) debuting as teenagers and B) making a notable impact on Disney and licensee Hasbro's bottom line?

Young adult X-Women (18-22) could fulfill the same purpose - as long as they aren't 27-30+ years old when they debut

I actually think I'd prefer Doctor Doom popping up in a non-Fantastic Four film first. Iron Man 4 (unlikely), Doctor Strange 2, Black Panther 2. Dealer's choice.

He can pop up in anyone's movie really. It's not like he has to actually interact with them. He can just have a small scene of him sitting and thinking or plotting, just like we had with Thanos before.

And by having him in everyone's movie, it shows that he's a threat to all the MCU heroes.

So long as he doesn't consistently job to them. That's why I think Doctor Strange should help him (with his mother's soul) rather than fight him. He'd also be freaking scary if Doomwar was the END of Black Panther's trilogy.

Avengers
Black Panther
Doctor Strange
Fantastic Four
Iron Man
Spider-Man
X-Men

You can seamlessly weave Doom into any of those franchises. I'm thrilled at the prospect of Disney getting all of the Fox properties back, but Doom especially is an HUGE get. You can put him damn near anywhere.

Although he won't show up there, he could easily pop up in Luke Cage too. He did in the comics.

The implication here is that Victor has dossiers on the Fantastic Four's black friends, and Luke Cage is the only crazy one.

FYI the shareholder vote is 10am Friday according to variety. So we wont have to wait long.

That's what I was thinking of!

Now it seems that Fox and Comcast are still fighting about other things on the side

10 am EST?

How soon until we know the results?

Also i didnt realize but Disney is having its shareholder vote on Friday as well. So basically on Friday it will be as official as it gets. You wont hear about international regulations. Thats behind the scenes buisness stuff. So its all happening on Friday.

Youll know as soon as its happening. I believe anyone can listen to the call.

How? Are their offices bugged?

That's good to hear.

But when do we know about international regulations? How long does that normally take? What sort of time frame are we talking about?

Can Disney and Marvel actually announce anything after Friday, or do they still need to wait for international approval?

The original timeline was summer 2019. That was before they got DOJ approval so fast. they were expecting a 12-18 month regulatory process. .their timeline has shrunk by six months at least. Probably wont hear an announcement on Friday but maybe by the end of the year. Announcing a fantastic four movie ASAP will help damage control the uncertainty around the future of the guardians franchise.

Damn it. The closer we get, the more nervous I get. In 30 years, every seemingly good thing we ever heard about an FF movie never worked out.

You got your wish for Josh Trank's moobs.

It's basically done.

I'm catching up on past posts, I want to be part of the group that's for Feige being placed over Marvel TV as well and taking Ike out of it.
