Visual representation of Comcast trying to stop Disney :funny:

Brian Roberts after the Disney and Fox shareholder meetings yesterday:

So Feige won the deal with Fox with Ego the living planet for teenage warpath girl. Fox only got to rent warpath girl for a couple of years.

FOX have (soon had) the character but wanted to changed her power. They traded a power change for a character.

Edit: Sorry, I see you’re saying that the trade ended up being just a rental in hindsight.

Still a dumb trade. But I’m glad they’ve been talking so much these last few years.

Look where we are now!

Spider-Man 2 is still the best Spidey movie thus far.

Homecoming is a close second.

Homecoming is a close second.

Nah, I'd say Spidey 2 and 1 are the best. They almost have an old school classic movie charm about them too. Both are way above Spidey 3, ASM1 & 2 and SM:HC.

The original Spidey comes 2nd for me after SM2, which is easily my favourite.

On Comicbook.com their article says:

Last December, Fox and Disney both said that they hoped the deal would be complete in 12-18 months. With the brief interruption that was Comcast's play Fox, that timeline is likely going to be closer to 18 months which would put the deal being finalized sometime in late spring or early summer of 2019.

Why would the Comcast "interruption" push the timeline further out so that it's 18 months instead of 12?

If, in December, Disney and Fox thought it would take 12-18 months but then the merger was approved much sooner than they thought, aren't things actually moving quicker than originally anticipated?

Spidey 1 will always have a place in my heart, but that Green Goblin costume didn't age well at all.

Something about that damn Tom Holland, I really like him as Spidey more. Him with Raimi would've been dynamite.

I think the next several months will be really boring. I’m looking forward to Nov. Dec. when hopefully they’ll be able to give us some estimate on a closing date.

Keep your eyes on the quarterly reoorts from both companies. They’ll probably have some good info. regarding progress.

Hmph. I had a feeling that would be the answer. Where can I find these quarterly reports? I tried looking on Disney's site, but no luck.

Oh, and by the way I was on my phone earlier, and when I typed in Kinberg it autocorrected to kindergarten. Thought you guys would get a kick out of that- I know I did! :funny:

I don't know how Sony put out 2 classics like Spidey 1 & 2, but then everything else since then has been downhill, with them even trying to produce lame spin-offs.

Aside from X-Men and F4, when is Disney going to give us a name for this streaming service? I'm looking forward to that too because that DC Universe one isn't getting my coins just yet.

It didn’t age well after 5 minutes lol.

Holland with Raimi could have been great, although Tobey Maguire fit what was going on at the time. Holland is much better with the quips in the suit though.

I would love to know what he (honestly) thinks of the Spider-man films that have come out after his.

It seems a shame we're not getting to see Holland's Spidey swinging through the New York skyline. They avoided that in Homecoming and looks like they're doing the same in Far From Home if it's set in Europe.

Raimi cinematography was so far better than Jon Watts. He made a brief gag like swinging between high-rises with a pizza more dynamic than Homecoming's big Washington Monument rescue.

I hope that after Jon Watts does his films, we'll get sequels with a director who can equal or exceed Raimi. Standalone sequels without Avengers or Fury.

I think if they build up to the Sinister Six they'll have a lot of material to use without relying too much in my crossovers. We still need to cover the classic villains first. I still want to see mcu connections, but I would maybe have Tom's Spidey crossover in other films than have each Spider-man film feature a mix hero.

The Goblin suit was trashed on the first reveal. I never had that much hate for it myself. There were some good concepts that looked like they could have worked better, but I wasn't impressed as some others were with the test footage of the prototype Goblin head that was an animatronic face. The goofy ears and head sock were a bit too much.

Hopefully we get that in the 3rd film then, and against the Sinister 6!

Well, at least we'll get to see him swinging from high-rise buildings in London. Probably saving the Manhattan swinging scenes for 3

Yes, there are some scenarios that can justify Eric's age while still attaching his origin to WW2. Still, I agree with what you have said previously in other boards: Magneto should make people feel uncomfortable now.

The holocaust was awful, yes, but it happened many years ago. It's about the message. Magneto needs to be a politically relevant character now. Bringing debates that is happening now.
It doesn't matter how many years ago. That situation is a timeless horrific thing. I don't see people not feeling uncomfortable about it because it happened that long ago. It's still relevant.

I haven't heard him comment on Tom Holland since Civil War and Homecoming came out, but I recall him being very complimentary of the 2012 movie. But that could be him being very nice. James Franco and Willem Dafoe on the other hand were not as courteous.
